The cargo ship was going at a snail speed and took down the bridge (There are daylight photos of it, part of the bridge are held by the containers). High quality ship, not so much the bridge.
Bridge is built to withstand X amount of forces in a given direction. A multi ton vessel, the size of a skyscraper, underway, is not one of those forces that a bridge can withstand.

There was nothing wrong with the bridge's construction, apart from some connections being too sturdy. No bridge would survive being rammed by a cargo ship. But a bridge like this should have had protective structures built around and away from the piers to protect them from collisions, and this one didn't.
We know a larger ship hit a Chinese bridge and only one tiny segment of the Chinese bridge broke. We see the same thing with a smaller ship and completely collapsed bridge. Tofu is tofu.
