LOL, why’d it look so much like the Vastatosaurus rex at first? Oh, but more importantly, how close are we to actually giving the Dinosaur Park Formation Das species a name?
They appeared in a different ways. The 1st one that came to life had a body covered with Scales. The other had a body covered with Feathers. When will this theory be decided? I thought some young Tyrannosaurs lost their feathers when they were growing from their youth.

I don't count the website because the documentary and their official poster, both call it a Daspletosaurus. Not to mention, this takes place in the dinosaur Park formation anyways.
finally got around to watching t-rex: an evolutionary journey. And, its just awful. Its weird, because its got some great science and then just doesnt have science whatsoever. Their tyrannosauroids are shrinkwrapped and lipless. And their tyrannosaurus has feathers, which has been disproven, but as it was what was believed at the time so I won't not say much about that.
Sp is basically means that this is a species of a certain genus (Daspletosaurus in this case), but hasn't been given a name or assigned to a genus yet. In the case of Daspletosaurus, this species is from the Dinosaur Park formation, and it might possibly represent a distinct species from the other Daspletosaurus species. But at the moment we don't know, so we leave it as "unnamed species", which is pretty much what sp is.
Yeah daspletosaurus didn’t go extinct in the KPG mass extinction event it lived 7 million years prior to the extinction it was already extinct by the time the KPG extinction was happening Tyrannosaurus Rex did go extinct from the KPG extinction but Daspletosaurus didn’t The KPG mass extinction event took place in the Maastrichtian while Daspletosaurus lived during the Campanian which was 7 million years from the Maastrichtian It lived from 75 to 70 million years ago not 66 million years ago for Daspletosaurus was the ancestor to Tyrannosaurus Rex
Is it the ancestor of T-Rex though or is it the asian ones that migrated to NA. The migration thing is just a theory. So i'm also not 100% sure about that.

They really just made a Jurassic Park T. rex, made the model to be a bit smaller, added feathers, and called it Daspletosaurus, huh.
