China stealing intellectual property is a big thing too but he's on the money. I could see it easing but Taiwan is a massive problem as well as all the other countries claiming sovereignty over the South China Sea that evidently China thinks it owns.
Someone has to step in you'd think. How would the rest of the world react to what China claims as there own? If you think the Russian invasion if Ukraine is bad purely Economic wise then you should be even more concerned if China wants to take over Taiwan. Bedlam. Russian energy is one thing but the technology that Taiwan produces would grind to a halt so many more facets of global economical output.
I'm all for Ukraine and Taiwan keeping their sovereignty but surely we can work with some degree of diplomacy. History sadly always repeats.
Hard to have a voice in these autocrat nations to being with and even harder to negotiate from the outside when so many of their population have misguided views. Just look at how Stalin is still revered in Russia. Look at the Crimean population that was evidently put in by Russia when they ousted the whole 'indigenous' population because they like many Ukrainians welcomed the Nazis as liberators from the Soviets. Rightly so too.
I'm a descendant from those Ukrainians that have always fought for their own country. A country recognised by the USSR and even Crimea by the Russians in 1997. USA should work more to come to an agreement and stop trying to be the World Police in their interests. God or someone help us though if these autocrats take over the world.

The problem with westerners is that when they think about the developing world developing, they assume that these countries will develop and become just like them: their values, their culture, looks talks thinks like them. Instead of taking industrialisation and modern technology and interpreting it within the context of their own very old cultures which had been stunted by colonisation and which they want to recover. This is why the West feels so threatened, it’s all because the developed western world never psychologically prepared to become simply one of the many cultures of humanity, and not ‘better’ either - just one of many.

    • @topherno
      @topherno Рік тому +30

Exactly, the west cannot fathom a world in which their system, values, and way of life are not universally adopted and accepted as superior to those of other cultures. Those who don't are simply primitive/backwards and need to be "liberated", if necessary by force. That's why they're often so ethnocentric and righteous when they talk about other cultures, because they truly believe they have the universal measuring sticks. And that even though the west is far younger than many cultures in the developing world. The west couldn't care less about other countries' culture and history, nor the fact that every culture has different values and in particular a different interpretation of freedom. The arrogance and over-confidence never ceases to astound me.

I believe the "national defence strategy" of the US is precisely what they accuse China and Russia of planning to do. This means to dominate the world in every sense of the word. People should asked themselves, what is the greatest threat to peace and prosperity today? Are Americans prospering at all levels? No. At the top yes, but I look on in horror as good middle class people are losing ground. Unless there is security for all, no one is secure.

We will not interfere with other's internal affairs and expect the same in return. One of the main factors for America's decline both globally and at home is cos the US government have lost sights of their responsibilities as leaders.

I think it's too late for the USA to recover, reaganomics stimulated the offshoring of capital and production, Uncle Sam was deindustrialized since while asian countries took advantages. Now for Uncle Sam too go back into world markets they would have to use slave work to be competitive and catch up, but I think that won't happen. They don't control supply chains, it's all interwoven with many other countries, most of the big corporations have tons of dollars hidden in tax havens outside their territory (which to me means lack of trust in government), the only string they hold on to is the dollar as the international reserve currency, but I think many countries are seeking to shift to a currency that's more reliable.

...China does in fact interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, including the US. However, the US does too. The West is Baizuo...arrogant, misguided, too liberal, out of touch with reality. The Western oligarchy/ corporate state is forward thinking, planning for a future technocracy going back from 1970 or so. China also is very forward thinking, planning decades in advance. To the contrary, Western democracies are very short sighted and were/ are no match for neither the
Supranational Western Oligarchy nor China. The Western oligarchy has miscalculated China and the far east imo. I predicted as much in a college paper i wrote in 1994. I saw the writing on the wall in the 1980s...pure logic. China has many advantages...more homogonous population, more unity, more nationalistic, high National IQ, more transactional and more reality based, also long term thinking but with a better more effective unified vision. China will win the tech race too. The Western oligarchy....many of which are aging are acting rash, they want to see the NWO Technocracy unfold too quickly imo. The result will likely be success but at an unneccesarily high cost to the West. This will opens doors for China to ultimately leverage The Western oligarchy and give China and her future allies the upper hand. As America continues her controlled demolition, China will begin to sway Japan ( yes Japan) and other Eastern Nations to China's vision. The Western oligarchy, in her arrogance, under estimates China.

@@bungkusi2432 I suggest YOU do a little online research on the definition of Fascism.
      1. It is purely an internal style of governance. Fascism describes a style of National governence where dissent isn't allowed, and is removed with violence among the citizenry. The Supreme Leader is not to be questioned, and certainly not made un-employed every 4 or 8 years.
      2. Religion does not enter the equation at the top level, unless just as a litmus test of true patriot. Nazi Germany, Franco's Spain, and the current Russian Orthodox Church are good examples. You are thinking of Theocracy. See Iran for more details.
      3. Traditionally true Fascism is all about National/Ethnic purity. Ab-(too many O's)- ti-(too many O's)-n, which I guess is your attempt to avoid saying the word to mean a willfully terminated pregnancy, is traditionally not the Fascist Go-To. That would be forced sterilizations, deportations, or outright genocide/ethnic cleansing.

@0:42, wrong. China does want to shape a world antithetical to US values and interest. What are US values and interest? As a start the U.S. manufactures lies as pretexts for invasions, waging wars, and seizing natural resources. To wit: Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Vietnam, and Syria. US is the world’s biggest narcotic trafficker via the CIA, first in Laos then most recently in Afghanistan. Narcotic addiction is an epidemic in USA. To wit: the Kensington Avenue in all major U.S. cities. Burglary, vandalism, trafficking, robbery, rape, theft, mass shooting and murder are daily tragedies afflicting Americans who live in constant fear of being shot by criminals in and out of uniform. Millions of Americans are homeless, jobless, and hopeless as the callous U.S. government spends $1trillion per year on wars and war machines. USA enjoys the dubious honor as having incarcerated the greatest percentage of its people than any developed nation. USA claims to be the champion of human rights but operates torture-death camps at Gitmo and Abu Graif. USA claims to be the Prince of Peace but wages endless wars in N Africa, Middle East, and Central Asia - not counting the military provocation in the Far East. USA abuses the privilege of having the world’s reserve fiat currency - its printing press operates 24/7 funding US foreign wars while creating global inflation that destroys the purchasing power of other fiat currencies. USA is a dead-beat borrower who has a $50 trillion national deficit - and still growing. Summary: USA is financially and morally bankrupt. USA has become death and destruction not only to the world but also its own people. USA values and interests are grotesque , perverse, and morbid. The American people are helpless victims of the U.S. government. Only China and Russia can offer an alternative values and interests to the current U.S. dominated world.

I also add what professor Michael Hudson said: America's fear of china is: because china offers a different economical model than the West and the U S.
Western model is : prosperity at the loss of others, colonialism and wars of conquest. And now financial and resource control of others. See Iraq war and the non existent ''weapons of mass destruction''.
China's model is: prosperity for entire world.
In my opinion : the Western system and ideology despite all technological advancements which was utilized to colonize others is rooted in European serfdom system which was not far from slavery. Look at history of Europe, 2500 years wars of conquests . Look at history of the U S, genocide, slavery and constant wars of conquests and KU_DE_TAA.

By 2025, China’s economy is projected to surpass the USA’s. The current U.S. foreign policy toward China is economic containment. The USA is imposing trade sanctions , embargo, and high tariff against China - USA is hoping such an anti China trade policy will stall the China economy. So far it is the U.S. economy that is in a recession, not China. Essentially, Karma is a Bitch that has hit USA.

And some others just look at how they could best achieve their personal goals by accepting and adapting to the changes.

The primary reason why Europeans were able to get ahead was because of their rapid technological advance, which they used to conquer most of the world and extract most of the world's resources back to Europe and America. What we are seeing today is the rest of the world catching up in terms of technology, so now America and Europe don't have as much of an advantage. Now they just have a slight technological advantage, however they still dominate in terms of accumulated generational capital as well as their military.

One factor has had allowed the rapid resurgence of China has been social change within the West, namely the diminution of virulent racism. There has not been opium forcibly exported into China since WWII (after WWI) and there has been engagement with China from Nixon to Obama. Trump was a recent reversal.
Certainly, Chinese hard work and abilities have been the predominant factors for China's success in the past decades, but one has to accept that social change in the West had been a prerequisite in the timeliness of the start of such success.
The USA has long had fear and abhorrence for communism. One should understand why the US from the Nixon to Obama had sought to engage China. Much of the current political reality can be understood by carefully, thoroughly, and objectively investigating and appreciating US engagement with China from Nixon to Obama, and to place Trump's reversal in its proper place and context.

COOPERATION IS KEY, COMMUNICATION & DIPLOMACY IS THE WAY TO LOVE & UNDERSTANDING IN POLITICS! HUMAN STUPIDITY IS ASTONISHING! FEAR IS SO PATHETIC!! ITS FROM POLITICS OF PRIDE & PREJUDICE, OLD WAYS, BAD HABITS, SHALLOW & SHORTSIGHTED THINKING! KINDLY PRAY FOR WORLD LEADERS BCOZ WHAT THEY DECIDE, THE CHOICE THEY MAKE CAN SERVE THE NEEDS OF HUMANITY, TAKE GOOD CARE OF HUMAN LIVES OR TO BREAK IT. I HOPE THE WORLD LEADERS GET IT, GROW UP, & AIM FOR THE MARK -- THE MARK OF COOPERATION AMONG THE WORLD OF NATIONS, A BALANCING ACT BETWEEN EAST & WEST IS GOOD FOR THE HUMAN RACE. THE WORLD IS ROUND, THERE'S NORTH, SOUTH, EAST & WEST, SUNRISE & SUNSET MAKE A FULL & COMPLETE DAY. THE ADVERSARIAL MENTALITY IS AN ABSOLUTE MISTAKE. MAY GODLY WISDOM LIGHT & GUIDE.

Better said, that after WWII the West rebuilt Japan to be a manufacturing hub. After it got too expensive, the West moved production to Taiwan, HK, Cambodia, then China and now, Vietnam. So China’s wealth to this day is predicated upon the West’s desire to buy from China, NOT just on what China has done itself to grow. China can make all the dollar store items it wants. If nobody buys from China, their rise in GDP is over. China follows a production model doomed to fail long-term (unless they pivot-which they could). But Xi seems to be pivoting backwards, closing their society to the West, so nobody should be surprised if the West pivots away from China towards other more ‘open’ societies. It’s just natural selection at work. China has to be China and the US has to be the US. Everyone except the Chinese know a centrally planned economy doesn’t work long-term or without Western charity to buy cheap goods at the expense of its own future.

Finding out how capitalism works might help.
Why is it so much cheaper to get things made elsewhere?
The early neoclassical economists took the rentiers out of economics.
Hiding rentier activity in the economy does have some surprising consequences.
The interests of the rentiers and capitalists are opposed with free trade.
This nearly split the Tory Party in the 19th century over the Repeal of the Corn Laws.
The rentiers gains push up the cost of living.
The landowners wanted to get a high price for their crops, so they could make more money.
The capitalists want a low cost of living as they have to pay that in wages.
The capitalists wanted cheap bread, as that was the staple food of the working class, and they would be paying for it through wages.
Of course, that’s why it’s so expensive to get anything done in the West.
It’s our high cost of living.
Disposable income = wages - (taxes + the cost of living)
Employees get their money from wages and the employers pay the cost of living through wages, reducing profit.
High housing costs have to be paid in wages, reducing profit.
The playing field was tilted against the West with free trade due to our high cost of living
The early neoclassical economists had removed the rentiers from economics so we didn’t realise.
That’s why it’s so much cheaper to get things made elsewhere.

The ball is in the US' court... but given the US' recent 30 years of bloody wars, occupation, military intervention, and murderous sanctions, I don't expect the US to suddenly gain the wisdom to engage in productive cooperation and change.
