One of the comments was absolutely bang on. BMW makes you an enthusiast and the Merc Calms you down. There is a sense of subtleness to Merc. The Audis on the other hand make an entrepreneur of you 😊 That’s the beauty of these German automotive companies. They draw and define a character in the driver through the drive experience. The GLS does have 3 zone climate control accessible via MBUX and the rear tab. Notable omissions in the India spec GLS apart from the E-Active body control are soft-closing doors, ventilated seats, temperature controlled cupholders, Keyless Go function, Ionisation package, Augmented Reality navigation, Sports and Individual Driving modes, Distronic Plus and Optional Captain Seats in the middle row amongst other things. What's disappointing is the fact that MB India doesn't provide any of these features as optional add-ons for the buyers and they have to be content with the stock package that the company deemed fit for its Indian clientele. All said and done though, it is an excellent SUV to drive and be driven around although the middle-row could do with an extra dollop of decadence vis a vis its moniker of being the 'S-Class of SUVs'. It picks itself over the X7 because the cabin is well-appointed and overall fit and finish exude more luxury in a head-on comparison.

In the last row the X7 is much better because the sunroof goes till then end. Gls is much darker in 3rd row.

You'd be the first one to get stuck on the side of the road. If U have owned or know someone that owns a range rover then you know how unreliable they are.
The GLS front grill is more than a meter wide, my Suzuki Wagon R is 1.5 meter wide in total.

Really enjoyed this review, great to see car reviews not just from the UK or US. Still can’t decide which one I like best! Either make a great choice. In the UK, the Diesel engines will be popular as fuel is expensive here.

I got the X7 it’s a beast ... must opt for the X7 30d excellence vs the 40i petrol any day everyday .. it’s not the bhp but the torque and pulling power that u need to pull this beast .. 30d excellence is fantastic and the difference between excellence and petrol is not 20 lacs but only 2 lacs which really doesn’t matter . I drove the gls diesel .. to me it was not at all appealing at all on all ends . I did not like the side profile of the car found it very boring and also did not driving it special and they had burmeister music system I tune it to its best settings it’s sounds very bad .. I was shocked why such great looking speakers sound so basic when u compare it with the Harmon kardon 16 speakers system of the excellence model . Guys if u planning to buy X7 all the way only the 30d excellence loaded with more options then the gls .. and gls no match to talk about it at all .. I drove both I completely forgot gls after driving the X7 30d excellence model .. which is basically fully loaded . Spec . I drove the petrol X7 it’s too light a engine for this car size and weight works best with the X5 definitely not all exciting in the X7 .. try them out . I m sure .. it will be a easy decision . I m enjoying my car since 3 months ... it’s fantastic .

Hi guys there are 4 models in Bmw X7
2 models of the 30d Of which the excellence spec is my pick as it’s loaded with all the features u get in the 40i and 50d barring the bowers and Wilkins offered in the 50d . The difference at the time I got my 30d excellence compared to 40i was only 90k . My pick would be any day the 30d excellence model even if it was a few lacs higher ... as the torque and pulling power makes is very exciting to pull and accelerate this big beast .. I did not feel the same in the 40i the engine feels too light and empty for this heavy car .. as good as nothing ... and doesn’t feel 1.28 cr. well spent . It worked best in the X5 ..... anyone who’s planning guys any day X7 X7 X7 ..... gls is utter boring to look at in person .. it feels like a endeavour side profile all dead , it’s so boring to look at and doesn’t have features any where even close to what u get in the excellence model I mentioned above ... guys check it out yourself 😊cheers

When it comes to performance and power than anytime bmw X7 is awesome. But when it comes to luxury and comfort than anytime Mercedes Gls is good. But X7 shape is awesome the looks are like killer looks.
The old GLS looks better than new one..Mercedes made it more curvier now..
Earlier Version of GLS was true Mammoth but lacked practical features like Rear axle steering and all especially in india

I'm seeing guys recommend the Range Rover in the comments section 😝. Please understand that it belongs to a different category so the comparison is absolutely illogical. On top of that the vehicle is notorious for it's reliability issues so in comparison owning either of these 2 German SUVs would be a far more fuss free experience.

Go for either the X5 30d or the GLE 400d. These "7-seaters" are pointless.

And if you take that out of the equation, the X5 and GLE will be better in all the other aspects. Even the price difference is marginal. The GLS 400d may have better resale value than the GLE 400d though.

Don't count on this GLS for long drives or off road. The opening statement that it's gonna be a replacement for air travel for now isn't a reality. I've had the tyre and alloy go burst within one month of buying without any physical damage. Further more 3 tyres went burst within the last month without a material intervention or physical damage. This is good within city office-home rides showing off its size ... That's it. No way a SUV, forget about off roading!

I think the X7 is much better than the GLS as it is cheaper, has more features, tech, has better ride quality and handling and superior interior quality too. X7 is my favorite anyday. If I have to pick other than the X7 then I would pick the 2021 Audi Q7 as well. It is too futuristic.
the biggest load of bs ive seen. Imma disprove ur shit rn , the GLS is cheaper , no the x7 does not have more features than the GLS , the latest mbux system is the most futuristic rn , the GLS is much more comfortable than the x7 , ride quality is way smoother , u can't compare bmw interior quality to mercedes in the higher models , the only thing the x7 has better than the GLS is the handling but that's irrelevant. That's like buying two chairs and saying one of them is better to stand on while the other is more comfortable to sit on.
Amazing video but all the shots are a bit tilted because it wasn't calibrated on the gimbal properly. I did put in an application for the video editor so that I could make these correct. Also, the audio should go down by a couple of dbs.

I found Seat kinetics on my Benz to just be distracting and pretty useless. The GLS is in no way the S-Class of SUVs as its basically a GLE with another row, thats it.

The other end of iphone lightning cables is usb-c since 2019 (11, 11pro) usb-c is going to continue as the future standard hence gls has them, did the center seat tear while getting into the third row in the gls?

Audio quality was bit disappointing though and you didn't talk about some features of both the cars and also didn,t talk much about the digital features such as infotainment and the main digital drivers display. Also didn,t talk about the build quality of those two things.
At crore rupees 20 lakhs is 20%. Buy the diesel for weekday office. And a kawaski zx10r for weekends.
So much confusion and bias. Such a lengthy description of a non existent feature for GLS. Got it fully wrong for 3rd row climate control, in fact the GLS has separate temperature control for 3rd row not available in X7. Unfair to compare a petrol and diesel
