I was bit surprised to see that you gave a point to BMW for comfort in 3rd row seating. I test drove both and clearly Mercedes had more space. When it comes to Ride quality, without a doubt BMW is winner. But, when it comes to comfort, BMW is not even closer to Merc. From just a driver perspective, BMW is awesome. But, when you are buying an SUV, you expect comfort for all passengers, not just the driver. So, my winner is Mercedes.

Velar is no way X5 category as much as JLR would like you to believe. Just because they have priced it so does not mean it belongs in here. RR Sport is the correct comparison with X5/ GLE. Velar is F Pace is X3 is XC60 is Macan is Q5 is GLC.
You can give your ranking rating but Mercedes is smiling all the way to the bank with 3x more GLS sales as compared to X7. Thanks to our actors, politicians and HNIs falling in for the tri pointed star. Its an emotional buy and merc outsells in this factor alone. Period.

Always Mercedes because Mercedes has all india showroom and service but bmw has limited and less showroom and service centres... Mercedes understand india roads and tyres are good but bmw has still european standards..
The seat upholstery same which they use to give in 2015-16 while bmw have changed the upholstery and gives the leather and merc gives artificial leather the fit n finish is way above them merc And x7 older generation ha the infotainment and you can get that for 1000$ using the artificial leather they can provide you with the tab and infotainment

Sorry for this comment, but the comparison of the 2nd row is wrong. You can't compare 6 seater to 7 seatr car, because in this case in BMW X7 as 7 seater option all seats in 2nd row are flat when you push Max space button in trunk. Still good job, but in this case, details have matter. Regards😊

I have a GLE,I test drove x7 and x5 i didn't feel the smoothness and refinement.
Tax is crazy on them. Roads are not like Sharjah. Would love to buy elsewhere not here. Here thar is ok to use daily or a creta. Maybe a triber too
