  • This video shows you how to fletch an arrow for shooting with a bow. This way of fletching will work for any kind of bow and any type of fletching. This means it will work on arrows being used for traditional archery as well as compound archery. It also will work for plastic veins or feather veins. Also, please note that this is not the only way to fletch and arrow. it is simply the method I've used over the years. Good luck if you try it, and God bless you.

    You should do a feather fletching and give the pros and cons about it. God bless you.

      I'll keep it in mind. You typically only use feather fletchings when shooting with fingers to provide a little give with the contact that is often associated with the archer's paradox when shooting with fingers.

    I use Bohning Platinum fletching glue, it has a nice long needle like tip, for inserts or target points I use hot melt glue, once its cooled its ready to go.

    I just use 91% rubbing alcohol to treat my arrows before fletching and it works great for me and it won't damage nocks or wraps. Try Goat Tuff brand glue also. You'll love it.

      Here is my video on how to gut a deer ua-cam.com/video/-QdGQZi79gw/v-deo.html
      Here is a video I did on how to butcher a deer on the ground in the woods ua-cam.com/video/muwwUgsa0U8/v-deo.html
      I also plan on filming a few new videos on skinning, butchering, and caping a buck for a mount. I've recorded a few videos on this in the past but wasn't happy with the quality so didn't post them.

    could you replace 1 blazer vein with just using your hand to glue it on?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  7 років тому

      technically yes, but it will be extremely difficult to get the precision needed to have a very true flying arrow.

    Thanks for sharing this video. I switched to QuickFletch vanes and never looked back. What do you feel is the benefit for fletching arrows this way still?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  7 років тому

      There is probably more flexibility when doing it this way. I'm not sure if I have ever seen the Quick Fletch in anything other than the 2 inch blazer vane. If someone wanted to shoot 4 inch or more I'm not sure if they could with those. Also, if someone wanted to shoot with a lighter arrow, they could achieve that doing it this way because that wrap adds quite a bit of weight.

    Hey Sean, just bought some new shafts this year for hunting In September , just curious, I've seen alot of Diy vids on shooting a blank shaft with a mark on the nock end at about 5ft away from a target to determine if you use a right or left fletch based on whether the mark rotates left or right ,is this accurate information.

      I think as long as you have the right spine then you are fine with either.

    How did you like the PSE? It was always my dream bow when I was a kid, and I finally got a used Nova OC. Really liked it when I had it. Would love a newer model. Maybe one day! Lol

    What do you suggest in picking a right or left fletch

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  6 років тому

      I use a very slight angle to the right on mine.
