Damo (me), Ryan (my husband), and Otis (Our Son) spend our days taking care of the land and the animals and enjoying each others company at home on our Thailand farm, we also spend lots of time away, including on the beautiful island of Bali. My goodness, the lady in a dark t-shirt is so brave to allow the monkey on her shoulder. I would never go near a monkey for fear of being attack.
Nothing has changed since I was in the monkey forest back in 1990 and yes there is nothing friendly about them. All they want to do is pinch stuff from your bags. Otis was spot on with the Balinese dancing and he made me laugh. Nice camera work Ryan.
Exactly my friend 🙏
I was gonna comment on Otis being correct and you beat me to it!
you are livin th dream cool vlog
Thank you Ash 🙏
I think this now my favourite you tube channel. Damo, is so beautiful, classy and kind. Love and blessings, Emma
Thank you Emma 🙏🙏🙏
Yep, my Filipina wife grew up with monkeys around and she tells me all the time….she hates them. She says they can be vicious, aggressive and very scary.
Agreed 🙏
Hi Ryan n mo n Otis lovely video. Not sure I would go near those monkeys tho lol they look mean .god bless you all take care ❤️❤️

🙏😊🙏
Wonderful bali
What a lovely family .
🙏❤️🙏
The man in the yellow short had a striking resemblance to his tree climbing mate......6'33" ☺️🤣
My friend used to keep a squirrel monkey in his garage. As soon as you opened the garage door the money would jump on you, bite and scratch you until you had to just run away from it. India has a huge monkey problem where they steal babies from the mother's arms.
Nasty buggers
They are wild animals, period!
Love you guys back Kayaking Ice cream
🙏😁🙏
The Big Yellow Taxi continues to steamroll its way around the world.
You are so correct. I offered a piece of fruit to a monkey several years ago, a very small monkey. Not sure if he got confused, but for a second or so he grabbed my finger with his little hand. Man let me tell you I could not believe the strength I felt in his hand, just crazy. Almost felt like he could have snapped my finger off if he really wanted to.
Dangerous beasts! 😁
Cool place indeed
🙏🙏🙏
Thanks a lot. ❤.
🙏🙏🙏
Yeah they look cute and harmless but they turn quickly and are very vicious.
Just lovely! Thank you so much for sharing! ❤
Thank you Suzanne 🙏
My son lives in the south near Krabi… he took me to a place called Monkey caves… we saw many monkeys inside and when we left several tourists had their unlocked cars destroyed by the little beasts also a convertible was all messed up by them luckily we locked our car… I did not realize how destructive they could be… one grabbed a lady tourists phone and went high up the tree.. you really have to keep your distance from them … some people think they are cute but they creep me out…..
🤣🤣 exactly Nancy 🙏🙏
A like every time.. nice.. 🙂
Thank you Shannon 🙏
Thank you for another upload , I find you guys very inspiring, keep living and sharing
Thank you Kristian 🙏
Hi Ryan, Damo & Otis, thank you for another great vlog. You are right advising people not to mess with monkeys, anywhere in the world as they can be very unpredictable and savage at times. They may look cute, but their bite is not pleasant. I liked the way Otis said he was tired and the island was a good place to rest and the next minute he wants to go 🙂I was also fascinated by the musician at the end playing the recorder like instrument who seemed to be able to blow and take a breath at the same time! I think he was using the same technique as musicians who play the Australian Didgeridoo with a continuous sound. Thanks for sharing, God bless you all and safe travels when you return back here to Thailand. 🙂🙏
Thanks Graeme, looking forward to getting back!
Thank you for another wonderful vlog. You have a beautiful family.
Thank you Denise 🙏🙏
I'm just waiting for you to go back to Thailand to your rural farm life and also to watch the continuation of the building
I love them. When I was in this forest I got a bananas and gave one to a nice fella monkey. He peeled and ate it and then politely pull the sleeve of my pants. I did not immediately react so the monkey climb on my leg and bite me on my thigh. Not teeth in, but could have as they have bigger teeth than most dogs. I threw the rest of the bananas to him and he looked me with the smile on his face thad said " there you go fool".. they are not nasty. They are monkeys just like they have to be
When I was in Thailand, I was given the nickname "Ling" meaning monkey.
Those Monkeys look very scary I would not go near them 😱
They really are Barbara! 😁
Lived in the centre of rural Thailand for a couple of years, never saw a monkey until one day a BIG Male came sauntering down the road, he gave me a quick side glance with a grimace, my dog was conspicuously silent during the encounter🤣, he was heading for the temple for snacks and stuff, nobody had anything to say about it 😆
🤣🤣🤣
That big goanna lizard. Called a "HIya" is definitely a bad word in Thailand. "HEE" in Thai refers to a womans naughty bits so if you call someone a hiya you are calling them the equivalent of "c**t". Them's fighting words!
Really nice place Ryan,Great to see you guys travelling together in Bali. And see how monkeys play and stealling tourists stuff.be careful when they can broke your stuff.
Loving it 😍 ❤️ 💖 9
🙏😁
One monkey or maybe two is cute. But then when you are surrounded... we aint in Kansas anymore.... scary af.
Exactly!
Always interesting and informative and entertaining, I would give the monkeys of very wide berth indeed I don't like them one little bit not that I'm going to come across them here in West Wales lol
Thank you Michael - hope you are well 🙏
Thanks for another week with your lovely family. The monkey situation is getting worse in all places in Asia where there are no longer natural predators.
Thank you 🙏
👍☺
Monkeys yawn. Come to Lopburi. We have at least 2 gangs of monkeys downtown that occasionally have a gang warfare around all the King Narai historical sites. Now THAT is some crazy stuff.
i wouldn't go anywhere near those myself guru
🙏😁🙏
5555 when you said that bad word I laughed so hard!!!! I had same kind of experience. I saw some koi fish in a pond when my wife and I stayed in Chon Buri I said “look some koi fish and my wife slapped my arm and asked me why I say bad words. I was confused I guess koi in Isaan language is a bad word. 555555
Haha yes- you have to be careful! 🙏
❤️🙏🏼really love following yr Journey.Much ❤️&✨to you all! You are both such Amazing role models as parent!
✨💎👐🏻💎✨
For Tris🚗🍦🍭
Thank you Wendy 🙏🙏
5:10 I think Balinese art may have been influenced by magic mushrooms because they have some culture around psilocybin mushrooms there. "The smiling clown of DMT space" That's interesting. I've done DMT close to 100 times now and met some entities on it but never seen any clowns. 🙂
I have found with mushrooms one can enter similar spaces to DMT too, the clowns would be the circus archetype, well described in rock strassman DMT the spirit molecule I believe 🙏😊
@@lifeinruralthailand That is very true. With bigger doses of mushrooms you can get very close to DMT realms which is understandable because they are both tryptamines. Moreover, psilocin has almost identical chemical structure to DMT. I'm ashamed to admit but I haven't read the book. Maybe that's why I haven't seen the clowns... 🤔🙂
Great video Ryan making great memories there.I remember being in Lamai koh samui many moons ago and a guy came in with a monkey and put it on my shoulder to take photo for money and it bit my thumb. Luckily it didn’t draw blood otherwise It could of been very nasty. Anyway all the best to you damo and tis.
Thank you my friend 🙏
Not in Ubud but somewhere else in Bali, one of these monsters hidden in a bush tree grabbed my reading glasses and broke them. I had to spend $200 to replace them. They are a problem wherever they are...even in Thailand.
Yes little buggers they are 🙏
I can see you have to guard your stuff , The monkeys will rob you when your out on the Kayak
Exactly!
😎👍🇹🇭
🙏🙏🙏
Yeah, those Monkey's are nasty buggers in Ubud. Did you see them out on the road? Climbing the electric pylons and causing mayhem in the nearby premises!!! Lol
Yeah they are nuts!
in singapore u are not allow to feed monkeys fine S$1000 in a fine country hihi
Hey William - hope you are well me friend 🙏
Hi Ryan, apologies if I missed previous comments, but did you terminate your contract early with your employer in Bali?
I fully understand your desire to get back to your life in Thailand - but curious if you cut your contract short - it's not something I would do once I'd agreed to a contract, but wondering what went down - maybe they were mitigating circumstances?
All the details in tomorrows vlog 😁
Ah yes so much of Beautiful Bali has been devoured by the desires of developers... May the spirit of Barong return to clear the island of greed driven development....
I first visited when I was 2 and then again when I was 26 so much changes in this life. From 1969 to 1993 development had begun but it wasn't until early 2000's that things really got out of hand. So sad really...
I do remember going into the Monkey Forest, I was alone other than a young man who seemed to be following me. And for good reason because a Monkey swooped down and grabbed my Raybans to which the young man promptly offered to recover for a small fee. From nowhere a banana appeared in his hand and the same Monkey returned my expensive sunglasses lol.
They had a good thing going. After that the young man kept the other Monkeys away with a slingshot lol.
I still love Bali but as soon as I arrive I go to stay with friends who live in a relatively secluded area not far from Tejakula on the northern coast. 💗🇮🇩
Ur wife so so beautiful. I like how she dress
Yes she is 😁
