Hi Thomas. I saw on a documentary, Bjorn said they write the music first then the lyrics come after the music. Thought you might be interested to hear this if you haven't already.
I had to sing this song in Choir back the late 70's, and the way that this song is arranged musically, is very difficult...I was surprised at how hard it really was to perform this song. Definitely give ABBA there props!

Greetings from Australia 👋😃🐨🦘🦜✨ I really enjoyed your reaction 😊👍 The two guys in the group (Benny Andersson [with the beard] and Björn Ulvaeus) wrote all of ABBA songs, with a bit of occasional help (mainly for things like titles) from their late manager Stig Anderson (no relation to Benny; Benny's last name has two 's's). Frida (the woman with dark red hair) and Agnetha also contributed much to the evolution of ABBA's songs. Benny & Björn also produced the recordings too, along with their studio engineer: Micke B. Tretow. • While ABBA toured (1973 - Sweden, 1975 - Scandinavia, 1977 - Europe & Australia, 1979 - USA & Europe, 1980 - Japan), they were mainly a studio group, so they spent most of their time crafting songs, and trying different treatments for a song with different genre's (and released film-clips in lieu of massive touring schedules; all but two being directed by movie director Lasse Hallström). If they toured a lot during the ABBA years, they would never have also had the time to hone their songs and albums (8 studio albums: 'Ring Ring' - 1973; 'Waterloo' - 1974; 'ABBA' - 1975; 'Arrival' - 1976; 'ABBA the Album' - 1977; 'Voulez-Vous' - 1979; 'Super Trouper' - 1980; 'The Visitors' - 1981) to maintain the evergreen quality that has lasted through to today in the ABBA 'revival' that has ebbed and flowed since 1992). • The only thing that Benny & Björn didn't write, that ABBA recorded, was a medley of three U.S. folk songs for a West German charity in 1975, that was released as the b-side to their 1978 single: 'Summer Night City' • ABBA's music and themes evolved through the years (1972-1982), with many different genres (not just pop and ballad-style, but also early emo/goth, musical, vaudeville, schlager, disco, techno, musical-theatre). • I was wondering if you could please do a reaction to their song, 'The Visitors', from the album with the same name. They didn't release a video for it, but there is a UA-cam music link for it... ua-cam.com/video/WZ6vUdVPiDQ/v-deo.html Thank you, and take care 👋😃
ABBA perfected pop and made it sublime. No one writes, arranges, and performs a pop song better than ABBA. Fun fact: Along with Volvo and IKEA, ABBA is one of Sweden's largest exports.
From what I've seen on the making of stuff for ABBA. The guys are the first to start the writing in the group, but then when they are in the studio they get the girls start helping to make pushes and corrections that help finalize the songs. So legit every one has a say out of the main four.

The two guys in the group, Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, wrote almost all of the songs. ABBA was probably the most famous EuroPop group of all time, and they were extremely talented. I don't know if you were aware of this, but the group's name derives from the first letter of each group member's name: Anni-frid Lyngstad, Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Faltskog (first name pronounced like Anyetta). They were actually two married couples (Anni-frid/Benny and Bjorn/Agnetha), but as the marriages fell apart, so did the group. I think every guy I went to high school with, including me, had a mad crush on Agnetha.

Beautiful-but-strong-but-handsome-but-intelligent JayveeTV ... ABBA usually wrote their songs in co-harmony, but usually it was the men at least in the 'director-ship' of it all steering the song and the singers and musicians. With this song in particular, dear Bjorn went on his daily run and then had the song come unto him as he put one foot in front of the other. Like quite a few of those 1970s artists, they still bring so much magic unto both kids and adults who were not necessarily of that era. That is there eternal power that appeals across families.
The men of the group wrote many or even all of the music ABBA sang. I always enjoy listening to them, they are so bright and even the songs with a sad story are upbeat and catchy. That is what I call feel good music lol and I'm not surprised that you enjoyed it Jayvee as it shows the enormous talent that had. Take care and stay safe please everyone. God bless you all, love hugs and peace everyone Mary-Ellen UK

Every ABBA song is crazy catchy. Probably the best pop songwriters of all time. 'Fernando' was #1 in Australia for a whole year...that one is a must! Plus 'Does Your Mother Know', 'Voulez Vous', 'Knowing Me Knowing You', 'The Name of the Game', 'When I Kissed the Teacher', 'Ring Ring', 'Move On', 'Eagle', '...it really doesn't matter...the rabbit hole is endless and they are all good.
Happy memory for me: 1976 on vacation in Interlaken Switzerland - at a cafe with my parents and the waitress playing ABBA’s Fernando on the jukebox literally hundreds of times.
I will admit as a man ABBA were my favourite group along with the Bee Gees and ELO. As a teenager i bought the album Voulez Vous and i have not stopped listening to them since. My other favourites from the 80s were The Human League and Spandau Ballet.Anyone out there agree?!
Bjorn and Benny, the two bearded dudes, wrote ABBA's songs, for the most part. Bjorn came up with the basis for this one while running, when he naturally found a vocal rhythm that became the "Take-a-chance take-a-chance, take-a-chk-a chance-chance" part. Such a lovely bunch of people.

I always loved this song, very catchy, and when the girls wink at me I get weak in the knees I can't remember which one is which, but the redhead was what they call a war child from WWII. Her mother was Norwegian, and her father was a German Sargent. Her whole family was shamed for this including her. She had a very sad childhood, which I think is terrible, she didn't do anything wrong, not like you can control who your parents are. ABBA just recently got back together. I for one am giving them my complete support. Love you ABBA

@@kimberlinibambini1988 Me 3 !! I think it's one of their 'rockier' numbers !
I often wonder how that song gets missed. Its great ☺
All their songs are great. I got hooked in the 80’s as a kid, thanks to my parents. A group that we can still listen to together. ❤️
i got that addiction too. every time i eventually hear a abba song, i turn on my abbasongs on and hear them a period of time (days) before i can get off that trip
This is my favorite ABBA song. My granddaughter and I are singing with them now. I love Benny, the piano player. I also loved Frida and her beautiful auburn hair. I like them all, but they are my favorites. I also have auburn hair.
The guys are writting the music! Best harmony ever!
I see ABBA I click on any reaction. So many brilliant songs to pick from.
I love ABBA! Here are a few of their lesser known tracks that I really like: "I've Been Waiting For You", "Tiger", and "Soldiers."
Abba were just one great hook after another!
Trying To catch up your reactions. Enjoying so much the way you react. Honest and full of emotions. Keep up☺️and yes again Abba nailed it
You can almost feel a old steam train chugging along to the rhythm of this song.
So true!! I've also seen a brass band playing it while marching along. And lots of people roller skating to it. Great song.
ABBA....legends
I sold all my vinyl about 10yrs ago. KEPT all my 1970/80 ABBA singles and albums. I just couldnt sell them even though i have not listened to them for decades
Mastermind songwriters....Abba songs that stay in your brain once heard forever...see Abba lol
Benny and Bjorn the 2 guys in the group wrote all the songs, You should react to "Angeleyes" and "When I Kissed the Teacher".
Some more Abba - "Honey honey, Rock me, When i kissed the teacher, Chiquitita".
Happy memory for me: 1976 on vacation in Interlaken Switzerland - at a cafe with my parents and the waitress playing ABBA’s Fernando on the jukebox literally hundreds of times.
My favorite Abba song is 'Does Your Mother Know' you should check it out.
I will admit as a man ABBA were my favourite group along with the Bee Gees and ELO.
As a teenager i bought the album Voulez Vous and i have not stopped listening to them since.
My other favourites from the 80s were The Human League and Spandau Ballet.Anyone out there agree?!
'When I Kissed the Teacher' is nice too.
Loved the review, J ❤️
Benny & Bjorn (the two boys) wrote ALL of their songs, they never recorded anyone else’s songs. Because of this they are all phenomenaly rich.
Just love the tongue in cheek video but the voices in sync are the real stars here..just perfection, love your reaction Jay
Simplemente el mejor grupo en la historia.
Fernando is my favorite ABBA song hands down.
Sweet again buddy. Had the album as a kid!😃
Hey Jayvee, love ya Matey. Thanks for listening and your reactions to ABBA the best musical group of ALL Time! For Many Reasons. Can you do your reaction to Lat All Your Love On Me and My ABBA favourite As Good As New. Cheers Bazuka
Try with: Ring Ring, Chiquitita, Gimmie gimmie gimmie, Mamma Mia.
So Long. An Early Eccellent Abba Song.
(Made in Sweden, For Export).
It would be interesting to hear your reaction to the oldest Abba song in YT: People need love.
Best choices
I always loved this song, very catchy, and when the girls wink at me I get weak in the knees I can't remember which one is which, but the redhead was what they call a war child from WWII. Her mother was Norwegian, and her father was a German Sargent. Her whole family was shamed for this including her. She had a very sad childhood, which I think is terrible, she didn't do anything wrong, not like you can control who your parents are. ABBA just recently got back together. I for one am giving them my complete support. Love you ABBA
I see I had already liked this vid at some point but it came around again. I love watching you react and of course. I LOVE ABBA.
You have brought joy into my life. I smile and feel the sweet energy you give to the world. Thank you for the ray of happy in this crazy time we find ourselves in. Grammie.
Bjorn & Benny (the piano player & guitar player) wrote all the songs. Frida released a sols single produced by Phil Collins? 'I know there's Something Going On' In my overinflated opinion definitely worth Tubing for. Love your work. Peace back atcha.
