Guys don't get addicted, its definitely not worth it. I've spent more than $25k on fragrances. I could've put a down on a house or bought a new car and now all i have are cologne bottles that doesn't get me ahead in life.
@@adrielr5930 you are correct
Lol 25k as a house down payment?
Where you livin?
Down payment in Vancouver is MINIMUM $200,000
Start a decanting business
You are right thank you for the advice 🌹
Damn bro. In 2018 I brought 6 cheap fragrances and I didn't buy anymore until December 2024. I spent almost 6k and I only like the grand soir and the chanel
I got 15 perfumes and honestly i probly couldn't use them all up in a full lifetime. And theres a real itchy urge to buy more.
Its a wierd kind of addiction. Theres the exitement to experience new beautiful scents.. gaining the possible social status boost from the scent etc.
But after sniffing enought many scents start to feel rather "meh" or generic.
My advice:
-DONT BLIND BUY. Theres a HUGE risk of expensive disapointment.
-only buy scents you truely LOVE.
I completely agree with you. I will definitely stop. I’ve spent 10 thousand pounds in niche and designer fragrances in the last 4 years . I’ve more than 100 fragrances I’m done 😢
@@redpandagency glad you finded this video
@@missionarypra I will have to stop because I don’t even use all.
90% of people in the fragrance community are probably addicted to it for sure, i know i was for a little while, i luckily didn't spend a whole lot on my collection and got over the addiction to that dopamine rush, just trying to sell what I don't like and reinvest in what I want and be done with spending more money on it
reinvest? bro, fragnances have no value. The value drops I mean once you buy, and will never in the whole life go up again (besides extremelly , very very rare occasions, but there is only one example like this)
July 1st....was my cut-off date from buying anything new. 153 fragrance in, and it may be a bit late, but it's important to stop. It's also difficult not doing, which speaks of the addiction in the collection game.
@@musicbydesign1 oh yeaa I can definitely relate mate!!
Totally agree. Only been in the game 8 years but amassed 909 hoping the next one is better than the last one and so on. Just 1 purchase this year so far though. About 800 I haven't worn for over a year. About 500 I don't think any more of than 'ok'.
Think I'm on the right path though with 1 purchase this year.
Lol 909 😮
WHAT?.....
So true. Sadly I found one that I truly love as a “signature scent” but I still ended up going down the rabbit hole looking for the next best scent and feeling “meh” but now I have a bunch of bottles that will take me years to use.
I can definitely relate
Fragrances are cool but I just buy a $10 decant of a bunch so I can have a bunch for little money. I truly do enjoy the fragrances. It’s fun. I don’t just buy to feel the rush of buying or for completion’s sake.
I’ve realized that this classifies as an addiction to me. I truly enjoy the process of learning about fragrance’s I haven’t tried or some that are nostalgic to me. I’m sick in the head or something because I buy everything I come across and waste all my money. My closet is filled and it’s hard to sell cologne online.
Recently I’ve started to get in another trap of trying to find a signature scent and it makes me rationalize buying more even though I already have bangers
I can definitely relate man
Started for me during the pandemic. Stuck in the house everyday with a phone and credit card. Amazing how much you can spend on fragrances in a very small window of time. I’ve chilled out a lot since but I still buy fragrances here and there that I don’t need.
Try to buy samples and decants instead. I do that and after trying the sample, 99 out of 100 times, I realise I really don't want a full bottle of this stuff.
Only 3 is crazy. I bought 6 in the last month 😂
bought 3 in december with a promise not to buy anymore in 2025 😂😂😂
If u came across this video and are in the beginning phase of your fragrance journey, listen to this man. I had over 40 bottles and have given away, sold, or traded almost half of them. I felt that part about how my collection would be so much smaller if I could do it all over again lol
@@redclayb man that exactly what I’m doing right now giving almost half of my fragrances away
This is very good advice.
I have 400 fragrances and I can’t stop I always say once I get this niche or this discontinued one I’ll stop but nope here I am. Eventually I’ll stop. 40 grand later hopefully I get to that point where I’m fed up lol
@@bleekoo1871 shift ur mind to a different hobby that focus on you to learn something rather than spend ur money on it!
Agree.. I have sooooooo many fragrances but if I were to do it all over again I would have about 40 and be done lol!!!!
I need to stop buying them and I keep buying them ,it's a waste of my money
stop it. I have decided to stop, 3 more fragnances I buy and I am set for a few years.... I only have like 6 or 7, but its becoming way too addicing, 2 are anready on the way and I just ordered one today.... I get this one, then 2 more I want and thats it, no more.
exactly what i experienced today! went to a store today and tried testing few of the most hyped fragrances (both niche and designer) you see everywhere on social media. for me nothing ,really NOTHING was as mind-blowing as they are advertised. they were great, but not that extremely unique and price worthy. i'll try getting as many samples until i find those 3 that are 10/10 for me
I'm happy with two perfumes. I love the idea of having a signature, a scent that I claim as "mine", but having just one is a bit harsh, so I have one for spring/summer and one for autumn/winter. Other than that I only buy samples and decants, to try new scents.
I also keep a few bottles of old perfumes that are special to me, mainly ones that used to be my signatures, but got discontinued.
Got 50 in storage. 30 on the shelf.
All facts in this video, im already at the 300$-400$ dollar mark in my collection and i need to quit while im ahead, im done buying these hyped up frags on social media, most of the time they aren’t any good and the frags that are actually good, they talk trash about or downplay 😂
I’ve garnered 18 in over 3 years with 4 almost done so I’ll admit I have issues but it could have been worse. Now, my issue is me getting in to niche and saving them and not using them. In this case I would recommend persons get only 1 niche as a all rounder for special occasions. if you buy more, you’ll just save them while using the cheaper one and buying more cheaper frags to save the expensive frags.
I picked up a brand new Creed from an estate sale for cheap. A man passed and he never used it once. Wear em bro. Tomorrow isn't promised to no man. Someone else will just get em for free or cheap and wear once youre gone
@@davidrobledo9977 I agree with you. Also don't want the scent to turn and become undesirable to wear because of it.
Why do you need to spend money on something you're not going to wear and enjoy? Don't save the perfume, save the money. If you're intrigued by niche fragrances, look for samples and decants. After using your sample a couple of times, I guarantee you, in 99% of cases, you'll be so happy you didn't buy a bottle. And if you find that 1% case where you love it, you'll just buy it. And use it. If you buy only what you truly love, you'll have enough money to buy and use, and enjoy it.
the title threw me off because your whole account is about fragrances 😭💀
Yes bro and that is what I’m telling to not make the same mistake it is not possible to wear all of those colonges bro it is best to have 3.
That's why I don't want huge collections I have over 200 + I will sell some of mines that I don't really like so I can enjoy my top favorites 💯🔥
I live in saudi and fragrances are cheap but after cleaning my home I felt nauseated with how much I have, especially fragrances and perfume oils. It’s overwhelming to look out…
Thanks fam
Just go with a fresh everyday scent your winter scent and your loud playful scent
I have over 60 for sure...I got into a habit of picking up a bottle when we go on vaca and it always takes me back to those moments when I wear...but I tell myself no more and still end up getting another....and don't get me started on the Goorin bros collection 🤦♂️
@@davidrobledo9977 all the bottles I don’t use I will start gifting them away I just can’t have all the damm colonge that I don’t even use
@@missionarypra I feel you. After so long you notice you start gravitating towards certain ones. Ive given some and sold ADG profumo i had a dup of. I do wear a scent every day and everywhere though, I just like to smell good. Some old old ones like back from HS i just keep around for the nostalgia.
@@davidrobledo9977 definitely agree
Good advice!
Hey bro!
💯 Agree. I would rather have a 4-5 high quality fragrance collection than 20+ collection.
Also have you tried instant crush as base and sauvage on top?
It's sooooooo good bro.
I will definitely try that bro
I started with just 3 fragrances, and now I own 21 bottles, it's not an essential thing you need, soap, deodorant, shampoo, clean-fresh underwear, socks, T-shirts and jeans, you are ok, well now I have stopped buying, and I am sticking to this 21 fragrances, some are medium range price like YATAGAN (Caron), TOBACCO RESERVE (Aramis), GIVENCHY GENTLEMAN (original), POLO (green original bottle), the rest are not too expensive fragrances as they are cheap out of fashion, but still smell wonderful; I realized I do not need more than maybe 5 or 6 at the most, and I am ok just taking my daily 3 showers, putting on my deodorant and brushing my teeth after every meal ............. I am ok now, I still love fragrances but as I have my feet on the ground now, I will use what I have and if I repurchase some fragrances, they won't be more than 4 to 6, that's for sure.
(Day/Night) x (Casual/Formal/Party/Date) X (4 Seasons) X (Top 3) = 2 X 4 X 4 X 3 = 96 yay
@@gomdoryzoa 😭🤣
That's marketing. Believe it or not, big businesses employ teams of people whose entire job is to make you buy more.
People used to have one favourite perfume. Some had a couple more bottles that they liked less, maybe they got them as gifts or bought them during a holiday, and would use them occasionally, or if they run out of their favourite.
Now imagine how much more profit the perfume companies have been making since they managed to convince a significant number of people that they need 100+ fragrances...
@ Who cares? Historically perfumes have always been luxury goods. Luxury goods, by definition, are not something you buy because you NEED them desperately for your living. I just like fragrances and can afford to more than one, regardless what marketing people say.
@@gomdoryzoa Yeah, historically perfumes were bought by people who didn't have to stretch their budget to buy them and even then no one was buying hundreds of bottles. What's happening now is a result of very clever marketing.
You see, rich people buy a £1000 bottle of perfume because that £1000 is for them less than £10 is to you. No one becomes rich by spending on luxury what they need on necessities.
@@frusia123 You don't even have to be that super rich to buy dozens of fragrances. It's just a hobby like collecting wines, vinyls, or comics, etc. Everyone values different things differently. What you buy may seem useless to others likewise, but we should respect each other.
Shit give me ysl myslf, Ralph’s club, and maybe a good sweet winter banger like tmw or spicebomb and im good. At some point you realize you just want things to be simple. Black t shirt, easy, comfortable. Stand out by the way you treat yourself and others.
Also to mention most are dupable
He he….he said “20”….as if….😂😂😂😂
I just buy clones cologne
Perfume addiction is better then cocaine 😅😅
MYSLF for fall? why am i still listening to this guy.😂😂
lol
Well, I HAVE 40 and it's enough.....
For me the perfect number is 5 fragrances: one cheap fresh for everyday/gym (jimmy choo ice), one for date night (ysl la nuit de l’homme), one professional/clean (Prada l’homme), one for clubbing (ysl y edp) and one for cold weather (nishane ani). That’s it I don’t need anything else
