@@starxakk Yeah but that's just an opinion not a fact. In my opinion Rezero is much better. Season One of Mushoku Tensei is Re Zero quality but season 2 (Manga version) wasn't very good honestly. Hurts to say but it kinda was mid. It felt like their was no plot and was more "romance" (More like fan service) focused and felt more like a typical isekai. Re Zero gets better later on. Season 3 is better then season 2 and season 2 is better then season 1.

@LetsGoRodriguez0 except the harem actually makes sense. Each harem member complements shortcomings of Rudeus in some way and together they cover all his greatest weaknesses. They actually form a cohesive family unit together instead of just fighting over Rudeus. Each recognizes the other 2’s love and respects them for it and further acknowledges that Rudeus loves all 3 pretty equally.

"Re zero generally has better writing, but I prefer the way Mushoku Tensei is organized." This sums up how I feel about the two series' stories. I have been looking for a way to describe it for so long, thanks.
@@lucyadam9128 mushoku tensei is way better written, the only difference is that Re Zero has had 4 story arcs fully animated while mushoku tensei is still in it's introduction phase. the main conflicts and story arcs in mushoku tensei occur futhur down the line and are developed slower than ReZero's, I suggest reading both novels to make an actual comparison.
@@valtriqy I don't really think there's a clear winner in writing tbh, Mushoku Tensei's world is fully fleshed out, and is crazy to think that in 24 episodes we will have visited almost the entire world, and still have more things to see later on... On the other hand Re:Zero has a very condensed style, the world itself feels pretty small, but through the return mechanic we see this world from very up close... I'd maybe say too up close, like bruh we're 24 episodes in the sanctuary... Basically they are different kinds of writing, one is like laying on your bed after a tiring day and the other is like a long hot bath in the winter, both extremely relaxing on their on way.
@@irrelevantwhitekid3856 subjectivity is a thing. Important Re:Zero and Mutshoku Tensei are very comparable in terms of writing. Re:Zero edges out for me
Honestly, it's not even strange that Mushoku Tensei and RE: Zero's author get along, they love their turnings points and shares quite a bit of similarities in writing, it's just in RE: Zero the turning points tend to be resets and for Mushoku Tensei it's another stage in life. RE: Zero is like playing Dark Souls, and Mushoku Tensei is like playing an RPG without a memory card. (Back when memory card was the only way you can save)
@@aliffirdaus6986 orsted you mean, both are quite strong but due to divine protection of phoenix Reinhardt can revive in an instant even if you kill him. So Reinhardt is the strongest.
I can generally agree about everything except for the world category. Mushoku Tensei's world building is leagues ahead of Re:zero's for me. Every setting feels unique with clear language and cultural influences. I agree that Re:Zero's lore has more detail and subject matter to dive into, but it still doesn't compare to Mushoku Tensei's raw immersion.
I’m caught up with rezero and done with MT so I will say IMO I think they are comparable but have different strengths; The way I like describing it is rezero goes very in depth to a bunch of different locations, and it likes to go all out in that respect, fully exploring everything even slightly important in them. Mushoku on the other hand does explore a lot, but there are a LOT of areas that are onky visited like twice throughout the entire series. Sure, the number is higher than rezero, but the in depth-ness of every one of those areas is rather limited. Exploring the mysteries of a location has just never really been the focus of MT, besides I guess kinda with the house or the begaritt stuff.
The world building serve far different purposes in both series. Mushoku Tensei is meant as an immersive fantasy epic whereas Re:Zero is a character study. We don't learn a whole lot about the world because Subaru's incompetence in the first couple of arcs makes it so that he doesn't learn anything and so therefore we do not learn anything. Also, Re:Zero's world building moreso supplements the character development and mysteries rather than immersion. I don't think immersion=better personally speaking. Also, most of Re:Zero's worldbuilding are mysteries. Cultural influences exist in Re:Zero, but they're all mysteries. Also, Re:Zero has a whole slew of new mysteries if you can read beyond the surface of some things.
Re: Zero is so fucking hype and I love the music and characters more, but the world building of Mushoku Tensei is so well integrated into story and its art style makes it look like a movie. The waifus of Re: Zero are unparalleled but Eris and Roxy are also really cute. Mushoku Tensei's magic systems were also very well explained compared to Re: Zero, but I think it's a little bit unfair considering Rudy's entire childhood revolved around magic and learning magic from Roxy so it's going to be explained more. Overall, they're both masterpieces and I love the different feelings I get from watching them. It's like cherry flavored pain vs blueberry flavored pain.
There is one thing you still don’t see to understand, the world building and the magic being not very well explained in rezero, is because it’s not even close to being finished. On the other hand, mushoku is already finished.
Mushoku with their OP: I'm beautiful and I know it, here's beautiful art to add to immersion. Re:Zero with their OP: I'm interesting and I know it, so let's just skip straight to what you want.
to be honest, re:zero didn’t hit me as hard as mushoku tensei did, but at the end of the day, the point still remains that you can’t compare both of them. it’s like comparing cat food and dog food to each other. Sure, food is food but it’s not the same
You can criticize the both of them thr best of your abilities, but you can't change the fact that both are influential in the LN community and both are influences of each other. Both are written from the heart albeit in different approaches, but they're really good stories that has potential to change someone's outlook in life, like how MT changed mine. I'm a fan of both series and I'm rooting for Re:Zero to stick its landing in the most epic way possible.
Personally, I’m just a bit sad that a lot of the best animators left Re: Zero to go work on Mushoku Tensei and you can definitely feel their absence when watching the dogshit animation of the 2nd cour of Season 2. But, I can’t really be that mad cause Mushoku Tensei has better production quality than Re: Zero EVER had. Would I prefer that same level of quality be poured into my favorite isekai story? Sure, but I’ll take a good production wherever I can get it.
Tbh I never liked re zero animation sadge. So even when it did get at it's worst (which was "ok" quality) I didn't mind tbh bcs re zero to me isint about animation. Ofc animation can go a long way of helping tell a story but imo it wasent re zeros priority. MT clearly prioritised and had the ability to focus on enhancing storytelling via masterful animation
I’ve always seen re:zeros animation and art as really good, even in part 2 of S2. I guess I saw a drop in the wood scenes on the dirt but it’s always been good. Mushoku Tensei is just too insanely good
Calling the animation of 2nd season of rezero “dog shit” is massive disrespect. Sure it ain’t prefect or as good as MT or some other fantastic work but it’s still well above average.
I love Re:Zero and how the author tried his best to take advantage of the concept of a person that respawns after dying. First of all, it allowed him to put a completely average person in the middle of it all. And furthermore, it allowed us to see the ugliest and weakest sides of him. Subaru's no hero or prince charming, he's got morals but he's still entitled and too prideful and the author does NOT let him get away with any of it. And not only this, but at first he makes the viewers project themselves onto Subaru, because he knew exactly what kinda audience he will pull with cute maids and a story about an average guy saving a cute elf and building a harem, only to then break that image right in front of them. So not only does he force Subaru to reflect upon himself, for many viewers Tappei made them get a good look at themselves as well. That's such a ballsy move that to me it deserves extra respect. It shows that he really wanted to say something with Re:Zero and although it has flaws, it holds a special place in my heart. Mushoku Tensei on the other hand has many scenes where Rudeus touches children so it wins this round.
All joke aside,i think if you make your character too unlikable from the start, people just wont care abouth him even if he become a better person.Subaru to me,was just flawed enough to be relatable and endering in his own way,but Rudeus...yeah no,why would i want to stick with a character like him?Doesnt help am not very fond of manga/anime/light novel with sexual undertone (not talking abouth ''echi'' here),they literaly made him an almost sexual predator early on so of course i wont stick with him to see the change,i just dont care.
I love subaru because he actuallg sounds and acts like a real person with real problems and real fears unlike most OP isekai characters. Rudeus is also great cos mans cultured as fuck
As someone who both read Re Zero and Mushoku Tensei (WN and LN), you can't really compare the two of them. Re Zero is like a murder mystery and MT is a biography of a person. (I prefer MT tho) but I love both of them
Pretty much, it’s overall more appropriate to compare Re;Zero with something like Umineko than it would be to compare it and MT. Especially considering I’m pretty sure Umineko likely partially inspired Tappei for Re;Zero.
Yeah, I personally prefer Re:Zero. It's a character study that also has like some of the coolest mysteries ever. The biography part is definitely something I'm not so into personally speaking. Many parts feel very summary-like at times and I'm not the biggest fan of that whereas Re:Zero goes into detail of every single event taking place.
@@p.k.866 WN is like the rough draft, basically contains anything and everything the author could think of for every part. LN is the WN but slightly cut down so some minor details might get written out or rearranged and overall redundant descriptions/text is more likely to get written out by the editor.
@@p.k.866 WN is to write novels on the internet for people to read. Then when a book company takes that WN and publishes it, it becomes an LN. Some content in WN may not be or have been modified in LN.
Finished both, I think Re:Zero is better, Mushoku Tensei is great too and shows a guy growing in a different way in a different body, but Re:Zero made it more relatable, an average guy who doesn't reincarnate when he dies but his only turning point is when he dies and respawns and the trauma and stuff it takes to die and have nobody to talk about it makes Re:Zero show more of a struggle, how an average guy who isn't all special, is no wizard or mage or master swordsman, just simply never gives up and finds a way through the hell he goes through. They're both great but Re:Zero left more of an impact on my heart.
Re zero is technically a horror, mindfuck, plot twist psychological shit, and i love watching series like that, atleast more than series just about supernatural powers, battles and fun adventures
I think I agree with almost all of decisions. Especially about Subaru as a protagonist. He’s my favorite character in fiction. He was already S++ from the anime but then chapter 74 of arc 6 web novel hit and I don’t think any character will ever top him after that
Re:Zero is about the growth of Natsuki Subaru’s character, realizing past mistakes and going back with a different attitude after gaining insight as to what went wrong prior. Once he gains that further knowledge the character only gets deeper and deeper down to the very psyche of him reliving through his past bodies lives and having to witness the pain he caused around him. Making him realize that he can’t just die to get out of everything, so after that first death in arc 4 after the time skip it really hits the reader and Subaru like a ton of bricks. While Mushoku Tensei, as you had stated is the redemption arc of a long since lost his dignity disgusting dirty Otaku with such a disregard for common courtesies that he had skipped his own mothers funeral to beat to Loli hentai. It makes sense to not like the Rudeus character at first glance, but when you see his trauma and do a bit of digging and find he was actually STRAPPED to the school gates stripped down and beaten and laughed at publicly. You really start to sympathize with Rudeus. You get why he doesn’t wanna leave the house, why even when he does make friends and companions like Roxy. He still is scared of the outsiders looking in. So with her gone and Rudeus in the Greyrat Manor and having found a new female to protect in Eris, rather than Sylphyette, and seeing his growth in thinking for his family’s well being rather than his own after outing the Superd. Thinking he would be chastised was surprised to find he had made the right choice in his eyes. As I’m sure most of us as the audience were. The ending isn’t too much to speak of, but I can say FOR SURE this October is going to be a PHENOMENAL Anime season. Coming from a fluent Japanese speaker. Anyway, love you Echidnut, by far my favorite anime content creator on the site and I’m still a member of 7 months for a reason. I’d give the slight edge to Re:Zero as I just have more knowledge on the characters yet to be introduced to anime viewers, but Mushoku Tensei is a DAMN CLOSE 2ND and I would still rate BOTH shows 10/10 any day.

Anime adaptations in Japan are considered as *"Expensive Advertisements"* for the Original source materials.
Re zero is way better because it has no fan service and focuses on the store in a mature way. Mushomu is alright….. they should have made the characters older because they had these kids do things that don’t enjoy seeing that makes anime a B grade

Mushoku tensei made me feel how I felt when I first started watching anime. No other anime has been able to do that. That fact alone makes it my favorite anime. Of course, rezero is also a masterpiece, but since mushoku tensei actually made me feel things it wins for me

I love them both. Mushoku Tensei is story telling of a person who wanted to become a normal and happy person in his new life. A every day in the life of a person who reincarnated in another world. Making choices that changes his life in major ways. (Not your typical OP MC becomes great hero.) Re:Zero is story of a person who made friends in the world he was summoned to without his consent. He helps them without hesitation and tries to uncover the mystery behind the Witches(of Envy). (Isn't a typical isekai either. More like dark fantasy, drama and... trauma.) My opinion.
Mushoku Tensei is probably one of the best anime I've seen, easily in my top 5, but I refuse to die until I've seen the ending of Re: Zero. Re: Zero is just in a league of its own and I'll let nothing get in between me and the show. I am an anime-only (don't read the source material) but I strongly expect that Rudeus will probably end up in the typical isekai harem with Roxy, Sylphiette and Eris (and maybe even more characters) getting his happy ending after a long and fulfilling journey. But I've no idea how Re: Zero is going to end. And I've actually read up on theories, wikis and browsed different forums. All I know is that Tappei Nagatsuki's story is going to fuck my brain in the ass. And even though I might cry, I'll enjoy and savour every second of it.
Well mushoku does end with typical harem ending but story is good and tappie is a sadist and as a web novel reader I must say that u will be brainfucked more in future and tappie even tweeted on twitter saying that subaru's suffering will increase in future arcs.
I'm just tired of series I love ending in the worst possible way (aot and got). I know how mushoku will end and im happy with it. Im never making the mistake of saying smth is a masterpiece until I see the end.
I don't understand why Mushoku Tensei fans like Rudeus even if he's flawed? HIS FLAWS AREN'T SIMPLE. GETTING AROUSED BY LITTLE GIRLS AREN'T A FLAW, IT'S A DISEASE. If you have a daughter, would you let her be with someone who's secretly an uncle who faaps on her own niece like Rudeus? Or would you let her be with a teenager like Subaru who's genuine and caring about your daughter's wellbeing and would do his best? I really find it weird that some people would even claim that Rudeus is the best main character of isekai genre.
Yeah and Light can't be the best main character of the psychological genre because he's killed thousands (NOT A CHARACTER FLAW BUT A DISEASE!!!). Are you going to seriously determine a show's quality through morality lmfao. I'd trust my daughter to Midoriya but not Eren, so bnha is better than AoT?
Its why he is resonable character he isnt perfect he is flawed he develops time to time learns from his wrong ideas( hell even he himself claims he is worst) but if you read ln mushoku world is far worser than rudeus(pdfiles, slavery, insests, homosexualism etc)
Both are very good. I got teary eyes watching some eps of re:zero. But like you, I got tears without my consent reading MT web novel. The emotions are real. The completed MT story is peak fiction, and I pick MT as my choice.
havent read all of MT quite yet, however currently collecting all the LN's, but im sure completed Re:Zero is probably going to change the Anime Industry for a long itme, as well MT ofc, but the reach that we already know Re:Zero has is unprecedented. So when that day does come, I think if you're not too convinced or biased enough already you'll probably rethink your choice. I think you'll be BAWLING when Re:Zero truly ends. No return by death. Just an end.
@@brandonm0 yeah I’m enjoying being an anime only for re:Zero. At this time, because I completed all of MT WN and liked it so much I go for MT. May be if I wait too long for re:Zero’s next season, I will read the LN.

I think it might just surpass itself again and again
Both were so Good that I don't even once think to Compare them haha Both has a Concept that Dethroned a Another Concept like in the Waifu Category where Mushoku Tensei didn't have that Lovable Characters that we have been seeing in the Anime "yet" the fact that it's a Character Development type of Story Telling that were currently upto right now , Especially with the Case of Rudeus , a Man with PTSD and starting to get a Better Understanding about People around him , same with Every Characters and well, "Future to be Waifus" in the Other Suff- I mean Hand we Have a Better Waifu from the Start when it comes for Re Zero , Slight Character Development for the Waifus because their Already Perfect and I will not Argue with that, But Subaru has a Character Development that was Very Unique ,in a way that it happened because he suffered so much no joking Rudeus Suffered in his Life on Earth and have a some sort of PTSD with it and starting to grow as a Person who Acknowledge Everyone growing Friends and Love Ones to Protect and Subaru which becaming a Person which losing Faith but regaining it Again for Everyone he loves and he wants to Protect I love them Both
You cant really compare them, they are really different story even though they are isekai For example In emotion re:zero is a rifle meanwhile MT is a shotgun
Mushoku tensei’s openings cannot be beaten. The original content openings in season 1 were incredible, and the season 2 openings are PEAK. Spiral (S2 opening 1) got me fucking crying, and On The Frontline (S2 opening 2) had me in disbelief on how far Rudeus has come.
I do think that Mushoku Tensei has it's own Magic, in the first season since the mana incident and Paul leaving the message that he's going outside to find his family it hooked into me to never leave, it has such an atmosphere that to be honest i haven't experienced in literal YEARS. I love both series, and because of them i'm trying to write my own isekai in the near future, but that aside, Mushoku Tensei has an appeal like no other anime, but ironically, i know by memory all the names of the Re:Zero characters, and locations but it's hard to me to remember the names of characters of Mushoku Tensei Even after watching an episode hours ago. Mushoku Tensei is executed brilliantly, but is hard to beat the magnífic and memorable Re:Zero story.
Yep that rat and time travel arc was very very good, it literally has become my 2nd favourite anime of all time , 1st is still re zero because of arc 6( oh my god the writing is just 🔥)
I feel like emotional impact was leaning too far on the sadness side. I feel like Re:Zero also has a lot of ups that make you extremely happy and I'm kinda sad that it wasn't mentioned at all.
I personally like Mushoku Tensei more since there's a beauty in it's simplicity. It goes back to the basics with it's characters, world building, and background detail. While I do like the characters in Re:zero, aside from Subaru the rest feel like anime characters. They all do have rich backstories and character arcs but their dialogue and mannerisms don't feel as real as Mushoku Tensei. The characters and development in Mushoku Tensei feel like actual people who I would know irl with realistic flaws and realistic changes in temperament. While I can see Subaru being someone irl, I can't really say the same for anyone else. He solo carried the character department imo. The fact that Mushoku Tensei made me like Paul and Eris is incredibly impressive and is a showcase of how good the writing is. Re:zero has a richer world history but Mushoku Tensei's world isn't anything to scoff at either and arguably has more detail. If I were to rate then as an overall package they'd be about equal but because of personal bias I enjoy watching and Reading Mushoku Tensei a bit more just because of the way it portrays it's characters.
Great vid, im so excited for this 2nd season of Mushoku Tensei, after reading the LN its become one of my all time favourites. And what you said about Mushoku Tensei having strong emotional moments is so true.
Mystery vs Immersion is the big difference it comes down to. I thought I preferred mystery because Immersion is rarely done right but when it is, it's a masterpiece. Love both shows and they are both easily the highest quality iskeai story's but I'm slightly leaning to Mushoku Tensei especially after watching episode 16.
I have not seen mushoku Tensei yet, but I’ve seen over 300 anime series, & I’m not kidding lol, and Re:Zero stood above all of them. Well I guess In the end it comes down to personal taste. Re:Zero is currently my #1 series of all time, but I will definitely give Mushoku Tensei a try, and I’ll come back to this comment to let y’all know what I thought about it.
Simple thing is mushoku tensei is the grandfather of isekai it is the one that started the stereotype of isekai. While re:zero is isekai that banished the isekai stereotypes.
Never even heard Mushoku Tensei till this vid, but if people are saying it’s on same level of Re: Zero than maybe Mushoku can break into my top 5 that hasn’t changed for 4 years since Re: Zero was inducted.
@@LaggMIA if you want to know how popular it was, on the WN website, it was the number 1 ranked for like 3 years in a row, until the slime isekai stole it (it got the anime boost, aka, anime started, got people interested, so more people read the WN, and boosted it past MT.) I’m pretty sure Re Zero is somewhere between 6-11, (I think rank9?), I’d check but the website is under maintenance rn.
Mushoku tensei is my favorite light novel by a long shot. The "by a long shot" part is just my completely biased opinion. But even from a more objective perspective I believe Re:zero and Mushoku tensei deserve to be praised as the best the isekai genre has to offer.
In general I have never enjoyed reading or watching an Isekai more than mushoku tensei and honestly I like rudeus more than Subaru because his amazing character development and the interactions he has with those around. Also turning point 4 and onward made me love this even more.
"... If Re:Zero lost, Reinhard would've survived, so it doesn't matter" I think if Re:Zero lost, Subaru would've not survive then return and do better. So it really doesn't matter indeed. Re:Zero can't lose till it got Subaru to let the show stay undefeated in the final loop.
"I don't want this video to end before it reaches 10 minutes and I can put ads in it, but..." And in that moment, an ad starts playing well played, sir!
I started reading the light novel for Mushoku Tensei a while ago, and man, the level of detail they go into to explain the magic system, swordsmanship, and the power rankings, is actually ridiculous. There were entire chapters dedicated to explaining this stuff, it's amazing.
I read both the web novels and I might sound biased but re:zero just hits different . I feel like my main complaint about Mushoku Tensei is that it's more of a documentary of Rudeus' life whose only wish is to live a fulfilling life . But with such a small number of conflicts arising in his life it generally makes me think that it ain't as interesting as re:zero where the MC is literally shoved around by forces that are beyond his reach while cursing at his misfortunes and weakness only to stand up again to face something he really doesn't want to face . And while I say that I am still a die hard fan for both but let's be serious re:zero is infinitely superior .
That’s the difference. They are a different type of story. You see some people say that TBATE is better than MT because they don’t know the difference between different types of stories. TBATE focuses more on combat, and having a badass MC. MT focuses on world building and having a flawed MC. Not even mentioning the fact that the Author of TBATE was inspired by MT, and you can see that (practically identical first chapters), very similar arcs and characters, etc. however, I’m not shitting on TBATE. The author is very good, and used it as a base, and built his own unique story that I love, I pay 25$ a month to read ahead. I recommend TBATE (the beginning after the end) as well if you want another thing to read. It’s on TAPAS, and is both a web novel/novel and a web comic, so it’s in color.
Re:Zero was actually my favorite isekai before watching the first cour of Mushoku Tensei. And even then, I still thought Re:Zero was better despite absolutely loving Mushoku Tensei Part 1. It's only when reading the light novels + web novels (and it was the first light novel I've ever read) that my opinion changed. Mushoku Tensei is easily the best piece of fiction I've ever experienced, and Rudeus is my all time favorite MC. His development is easily the best case of character development I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing, and seeing him grow and mature was amazing (I liked him from the beginning, but I never really thought he'd be my favorite MC. It's only after reaching volume 7 that I realized that I REALLY liked him. And then by the end of volume 12 I realized he might be my fav MC of all time. Volume 15 solidified it). I've never been as emotional reading something as I was reading Mushoku Tensei. There are so many times that I've cried while reading it that I couldn't even keep count, yet there are also so many times where I laughed my ass off. Mushoku Tensei has the best cast of characters I've ever seen. So many S Tier characters it's insane. Eris is easily my all time favorite female character, and I adore Roxy, Sylphy, Paul (BEST DAD), Zenith, Nanahoshi, Orsted, Ruijerd, Zanoba, Cliff, Elinalise, Kishirika, Aisha and many other characters. They all felt so human and realistic, even characters that I didn't like at first ended up being the characters I loved/cried for. Mushoku Tensei also has my favorite ending of all time. I've never read an ending that's hit me so hard and yet made me feel so satisfied. For those who are currently watching the 2nd cour of Mushoku Tensei, I can guarantee you that the 2nd cour of Mushoku Tensei is going to be LEAGUES better than the 1st cour. The difference in quality between the two are absolutely staggering. The volumes the 2nd cour are covering (volume 4-6) is what changed Mushoku Tensei from a 9/10 to a 10/10, and made it one of my all time favorite series. Of course, Re:Zero is still a 10/10 series to me, but I think I just prefer Mushoku Tensei overall. In the end, I think this whole discourse of Mushoku Tensei vs Re:Zero is stupid and pointless. They're both 10/10 masterpieces, and the pinnacle of the isekai genre in different ways. The authors are close friends who inspired each other and absolutely love each other's work. Honestly, I actually think I'm going to read the Re:Zero light novels + web novels now, since I need something too keep me occupied while waiting for Mushoku Tensei Part 2 to reach volume 5 and 6, as well as the fact that people say Subaru is the best MC of all time. Genuinely wonder if he could rival Rudeus as my favorite MC of all time. (For those who're curious, my top 3 fav isekai are Mushoku Tensei, Re:Zero and Konosuba)
@@maliqueimran1919 Thanks man, looking forward to it! Everyone says that arc 6 is an absolute masterpiece, so I'm looking forward to getting to that point. Ngl, I can imagine Re:Zero being on the same level as Mushoku Tensei for me, so I'm excited.
I would say the biggest difference between the both is the way they handle arcs. While yes both have arcs, the way the story built, Re zero felt like a more traditional story where arcs are building the story while in Mushoku the story builds the arc. The change between arcs in Mushoku felt more natural and not so clear sometimes. It felt more like changing location rather than arc. I mean, the webnovel named the arc based on Rudeus's age. This also brings us to the clear evidence why both are so different. Mushoku tells the story of Rudeus's life while Re Zero tells the story of Subaru's struggle. Despite Rudeus having more power in fight compared to Subaru and the fact that Mushoku is more fight oriented later in the story, Mushoku isn't an action story, it's a biography. Compared to Re zero that highlights how subaru fight against an enemy, Mushoku focuses more on why they even need to fight and how things are handled after the fight. If we see the bigger picture, behind the cliche tropes that exists in Mushoku and how mainstream a lot of things it have, It's actually an outlier in story telling while Re zero have a more traditional anime-manga way of story telling.
tl;dr : In Re zero, we see the story together with the MC while in Mushoku the MC is the story tl;dr 2 : If you show people individual arcs, people will love Re zero. But if people were given the summary of a whole story, people will like Mushoku more.
In Re:Zero, there was a chapter where Subaru holds a conversation with Meili and. . . let's just say that it was realistically brutal does this make you understand what you did?
Honestly I really like your opinions, I was ready to get angry because I was gonna guess you hadn’t read the mushoku tensei WN and that would heavily impact the emotional category but you did. Good job on the comparison, I like mushoku tensei better but that doesn’t mean your wrong.

I completely agree mushoku tensei is better at the fantasy feels but re zero is better at writing
@@valtriqy Agreed. Once you read the WN, it’s stunningly clear that Mushoku tensei is better written overall
@@valtriqy I don't really think there's a clear winner in writing tbh, Mushoku Tensei's world is fully fleshed out, and is crazy to think that in 24 episodes we will have visited almost the entire world, and still have more things to see later on...

Are you comparing Web Novel or anime
Re_Zero anime world building is below MT world building and I havent listened to Re: Zero LNs yet
@@wanttogetfood well you should
Re: Zero is so fucking hype and I love the music and characters more, but the world building of Mushoku Tensei is so well integrated into story and its art style makes it look like a movie. It's like cherry flavored pain vs blueberry flavored pain.
well said
I agree
Their both my favorite right now
There is one thing you still don’t see to understand, the world building and the magic being not very well explained in rezero, is because it’s not even close to being finished. On the other hand, mushoku is already finished.
that doesnt make it unfair since thats what the story is like
Mushoku with their OP: I'm beautiful and I know it, here's beautiful art to add to immersion.

Except you start reading or listening to the LN and you just don't/can't stop (switching over to the WN if your Japanese fails you).
MT clearly prioritised and had the ability to focus on enhancing storytelling via masterful animation
tbh I think It was fine, but I defiently prefered s1 of rezero's animation but Mushoku Tensei backgrounds are full on piccaso art displays
just calling peoples work dogshit, ok.

Mushoku Tensei is a phenomenal read. I highly highly suggest everyone read it. It's fully translated to English as well and you could most likely read all of it in a matter of weeks depending on your read speed. It is by far, one of my favorite Light / Web Novels to date. Re:Zero on the other had, to me, is superior in it's writing and something I wish would be translated a lot faster then it currently is. As stated by you Echidnut, you really cannot compare these two against each other as they are both just phenomenal at what they do.
Mushoku tensei made me feel how I felt when I first started watching anime. No other anime has been able to do that. That fact alone makes it my favorite anime.
Of course, rezero is also a masterpiece, but since mushoku tensei actually made me feel things it wins for me

Well said. He gets with 3 wives in the end with one of them being his cousin. I had no idea Alabama existed in their world. 😂
Im happy your still making videos even after Re zero season ended. Your comedy and content is good regardless of series. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

Both were so Good that I don't even once think to Compare them haha
Both has a Concept that Dethroned a Another Concept like in the Waifu Category where Mushoku Tensei didn't have that Lovable Characters that we have been seeing in the Anime "yet" the fact that it's a Character Development type of Story Telling that were currently upto right now , Especially with the Case of Rudeus , a Man with PTSD and starting to get a Better Understanding about People around him , same with Every Characters and well, "Future to be Waifus"
in the Other Suff- I mean Hand
we Have a Better Waifu from the Start when it comes for Re Zero , Slight Character Development for the Waifus because their Already Perfect and I will not Argue with that, But Subaru has a Character Development that was Very Unique ,in a way that it happened because he suffered so much no joking
Rudeus Suffered in his Life on Earth and have a some sort of PTSD with it and starting to grow as a Person who Acknowledge Everyone growing Friends and Love Ones to Protect
and Subaru which becaming a Person which losing Faith but regaining it Again for Everyone he loves and he wants to Protect

Turning Point 3 and 4 made me cry without my consent. The fact that the moments before those were CHILL af made it worse

(For those who're curious, my top 3 fav isekai are Mushoku Tensei, Re:Zero and Konosuba)

honestly re zero because the other feels like it was made by a bigger perv
If we see the bigger picture, behind the cliche tropes that exists in Mushoku and how mainstream a lot of things it have, It's actually an outlier in story telling while Re zero have a more traditional anime-manga way of story telling.
tl;dr : In Re zero, we see the story together with the MC while in Mushoku the MC is the story
tl;dr 2 : If you show people individual arcs, people will love Re zero. But if people were given the summary of a whole story, people will like Mushoku more.
