    Dolly's creation led to a lot of the stem cell treatment that we have today. Was watching a documentary on this and it's funny that the Scottish scientists were frowned and looked down on by the Americans for pulling this research off. The Americans weren't too chuffed that the Scots got there first!. Fascinating stuff looking at Dolly's creation process.

      @@deathnyyy Off the top of my head I can't remember sorry!. I think it may have been a BBC Scotland documentary but I can't be totally sure. I disked it from the telly so I might have it lying about somewhere...Hold on a day or so and I'll try to find it full title and everything..

      I do not think that is the case. I think they were the first to go public. Which would piss off the wealthy. Or because the scotts had a contract with wealthy bankster. The banksters renigged. So they went public. It didnt get much hype at all. There was no huge political debate. The debates were small and seemed more like a coverup of technology.

    Is it true that Dolly aged faster because she was a clone? Because she was created from an adult nucleus it's said she was already genetically an adult even when physiologically a baby, which was why sheep live an average of 12 years normally but she died at just 6 ½?

    Without fertilization how can this hybrid cell convert into blastocyst

    • @swathiammu2673
      @swathiammu2673 Рік тому +2

      The cytoplasm of the ovum and the nucleus from the sperm is contributed to the fetus in humans . Similarly the cytoplasm was taken from the first sheep and the nucleus from the second after joining them . The cell was equal to a fertilized egg which developed into blastocyst

    What a fascinating story. I guess this means Dolly was a GMO sheep as genetic modification can include not just recombinant DNA technology but also reproductive cloning. Recently the FDA approved GMO cattle for human consumption. I don't know if this will be positive in the end but it freaks me out a little as I much prefer the old ways of agriculture.

    • @henrikslab
      @henrikslab  2 роки тому +5

      Thanks for sharing the news.. GMO in general is not worrying me personally as there are great examples for crops and plants how they can be a huge benefit and a gigantic weapon in the war against hunger. For cattle/livestock it is a different picture.. but I see lots of problems with the way of intense livestock farming in general (even without GMO)...

    • @capstar126
      @capstar126 Рік тому

      @@henrikslab imo GMOs are just a next step in selective breeding?farming, just less luck based, i have no issue with the practice however many of the companies that produce the seeds do use predatory and immoral buisness strategies

    So it’s not really a clone they just took the egg from one and put it in a other tell me when they pop them out a test tube as a full sheep that’s a clone
