@@ggixif I could've, but I didn't because I wanted to give other 60s icons a bit more spotlight rather than just half or 2/3 of the list being The Beatles.
1, For the 70's you need Iron Man- Black Sabbath and Child in Time or Smoke on the Water- Deep Purple 2. For the 80's you definitely need either For Whom the Bell Tolls or Master of Puppets. They were defining songs in metal 3. The 90's were iconic for their boy bands, a song from The Backstreet Boys or NSYNC is appropriate 4. Nothing from Ariana Grande belongs on 2010s list..... definitely not Thank U Next....Something from Ed Sheeran makes more sense

Listen i agree all were magnificent , but at the same time you cannot compare them with each other !!! Queen with Freddy Mercury were just invisible , no one can beat those unique vocals ! Bon Jovi a category by himself , the style , the voice , legend ...and then there is Michael , the man who reinvented music and dance in his era ! The God of POP music , with thriller and moonwalk alone he overshadowed everything , not to mention Billie Jean , i cant get enough , man in the mirror , etc etc
@@georgeisaak5321 I see what youre saying about Freddies vocals, but I just don't think he was a good ROCK singer. I think his voice was to clean to be a good rock singer. I think people like Chris Cornell and little Richard were better rock singers than Freddie
@@bensimmons9262 i take his voice as a unique one with wide range, i don't put any labels to it... Rock or not Freddie had an extraordinary voice that once you hear, you never mistake it for anyone else !!!!
It probably has more to do with how the songs have aged than anything else. Disco fever was at its highest in the 70's making Stayin Alive the better representative of the decade's music; but of all time, Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway to Heaven have aged better and are arguably the more ambitious and influential to music.
yes Freddie Mercury and Elvis Presley are absolutely unforgettable, we can all admit MJ is the king of all music ever. Hes just so amazing and original.
imo i dont think theyre actually fans of queen. theyre just so biased to queen as theyre that one band that was popular from the 70s to the 90s. but there are many more hits from them other than bo rhap

My Top Ten Songs With explanation 10.) Cafe On the Left Bank- Wings This song is very unheard and don’t know why It’s such a catchy song with an awesome riff that I can’t get enough of and it sounds like a Beatle song but it’s not and the Beatles were way better than Wings and if this song got confused for a Beatle song than it’s that good And Paul McCartney’s vocals In this song are incredible 9.) Sweet Child O’ Mine- Guns N’ Roses Very Very Popular Song this one it brings out the amazing vocals of Axl Rose and the riff is also really good and the guitar in this song is very inspiring and amazing and in concerts it probably sounds really good 8.) Good Vibrations- The Beach Boys Old song on this list which is another classic love song and the vocals in this song are amazing and the effects they add in the song are incredible 7.) Smells Like Teen Spirit- Nirvana There weren’t a lot of great 90’s rock classics But Smells Like Teen Spirit is definitely one of them, with Kurt Cobain’s vocals and guitar is unbelievably talented and before their 1991 album “Nevermind” Nirvana wasn’t really that famous but when this album and song came out they were incredibly famous 6.) Hotel California- The Eagles Total classic there’s very few songs that can top this song, even though at the end the lyrics were creepy and people say this is a cursed song but they can go screw themselves because the songs vocals and lyrics by Glenn Frey and Don Felder’s music this song really topped the charts of 1977 5.) (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction- The Rolling Stones Written by Keith Richards the lead guitarist which came to him in a dream it really brought The Rolling Stones on the top charts and it helped the Stones make their place as the fifth best band in the world and Mick Jagger’s vocals really help and who can forget about that riff 4.) Won’t Get Fooled Again- The Who Very Long Song it’s a little over 8 minutes long and it was on the album “Who’s Next” in 1971 and that album is a classic and this is one of the reasons why With Pete Townshend’s Guitar skills and John Entwistle’s bass helping Pete and Keith keep on track and Roger Daltrey’s vocals really gave the song its power and it was a worthy rival of “Stairway to Heaven” 3.) Hey Jude - The Beatles How can the greatest band in the world not be on this list or anyone’s list this again a long song and it’s over 7 minutes long and some people say it’s a diss track from Paul to John but ai think that was “Too Many People” but anyway its a song about John’s first son with his first wife Cynthia Powell about how John has been making his life hard by cheating on his mother, divorcing her, and marrying someone else who didn’t even love him the much so Paul wrote a song about how John is making Julian’s life hard and that Julian needs to not make it bad as the song says and Paul writes a song that at first they didn’t like but then when it was released on the radio everybody loved it 2.) Stairway to Heaven- Led Zeppelin Another long song but totally worth it It has one of the greatest guitar solo’s of all time and an unforgettable acoustic guitar performance by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant’s vocals are incredible and the lyrics he wrote made it amazing and at the end of the song that’s one of the most unforgettable line’s in music “And she’s buying the Stairway to Heaven” Honorable Mentions: Light My Fire- The Doors Imagine- John Lennon Purple Haze- The Jimi Hendrix Experience Let It Be- The Beatles Yesterday- The Beatles Here Comes the Sun- The Beatles Back in Black- ACDC Johnny B. Goode- Chuck Berry Dream On- Aerosmith Another Brick In The Wall Part 2- Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb- Pink Floyd Master Of Puppets- Metallica Enter Sandman- Metallica Staying Alive- Bee Gees Welcome to the Jungle- Guns N’ Roses Thriller- Michael Jackson 1.) Bohemian Rhapsody- Queen There’s no explanation why this is #1
Eminem, Michael Jackson, Elvis, ABBA, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Aero Smith, the Who, Nirvana, Queen, van halen, black sabath, kiss, Jimmy hendrix, John lennon, thats a top 16 that in any order could be argued to be decade defining artists/groups that all have songs that could be on any top 10 decade defining song list, i might have missed some, IF I have Let me know, but i think its hard to make a top 10 list With so many options to pick from, Great video though.
It only popularized queen and like you said it wasn't even that accurate also there was this person who thought Freddie never played the guitar at live aid just because he didn't play it in the movie and everyone was trying to explain to him/her that he did
Nate stern, I know right!! Like for example I am a huge fan of the Beatles but I discovered that I liked them completely on my own a long time ago, not because of some movie coming out like yesterday.
Rizwan Ullah Khan I’m a huge queen fan myself but I think that Bohemian Rhapsody is much more deserving and decade defining than We Will Rock You, maybe Another One Bites The Dust for the 80’s but, Bohemian Rhapsody is undefeatable

Of course MJ would get #1 xD Funny how Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway To Heaven beat Stayin Alive here, but not in the '70's list? xD
I was just gonna say that
It probably has more to do with how the songs have aged than anything else. Disco fever was at its highest in the 70's making Stayin Alive the better representative of the decade's music; but of all time, Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway to Heaven have aged better and are arguably the more ambitious and influential to music.
Chuck Berry also beat Elvis in the 50's list, but not in this one.
They are on the 70's list lol. Like 3rd 2nd and 1st all three of them.

My Top Ten Songs With explanation
10.) Cafe On the Left Bank- Wings
This song is very unheard and don’t know why
It’s such a catchy song with an awesome riff that I can’t get enough of and it sounds like a Beatle song but it’s not and the Beatles were way better than Wings and if this song got confused for a Beatle song than it’s that good
And Paul McCartney’s vocals In this song are incredible
9.) Sweet Child O’ Mine- Guns N’ Roses
Very Very Popular Song this one it brings out the amazing vocals of Axl Rose and the riff is also really good and the guitar in this song is very inspiring and amazing and in concerts it probably sounds really good
8.) Good Vibrations- The Beach Boys
Old song on this list which is another classic love song and the vocals in this song are amazing and the effects they add in the song are incredible
7.) Smells Like Teen Spirit- Nirvana
There weren’t a lot of great 90’s rock classics
But Smells Like Teen Spirit is definitely one of them, with Kurt Cobain’s vocals and guitar is unbelievably talented and before their 1991 album “Nevermind” Nirvana wasn’t really that famous but when this album and song came out they were incredibly famous
6.) Hotel California- The Eagles
Total classic there’s very few songs that can top this song, even though at the end the lyrics were creepy and people say this is a cursed song but they can go screw themselves because the songs vocals and lyrics by Glenn Frey and Don Felder’s music this song really topped the charts of 1977
5.) (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction- The Rolling Stones
Written by Keith Richards the lead guitarist which came to him in a dream it really brought The Rolling Stones on the top charts and it helped the Stones make their place as the fifth best band in the world and Mick Jagger’s vocals really help and who can forget about that riff
4.) Won’t Get Fooled Again- The Who
Very Long Song it’s a little over 8 minutes long and it was on the album “Who’s Next” in 1971 and that album is a classic and this is one of the reasons why With Pete Townshend’s Guitar skills and John Entwistle’s bass helping Pete and Keith keep on track and Roger Daltrey’s vocals really gave the song its power and it was a worthy rival of “Stairway to Heaven”
3.) Hey Jude - The Beatles
How can the greatest band in the world not be on this list or anyone’s list this again a long song and it’s over 7 minutes long and some people say it’s a diss track from Paul to John but ai think that was “Too Many People” but anyway its a song about John’s first son with his first wife Cynthia Powell about how John has been making his life hard by cheating on his mother, divorcing her, and marrying someone else who didn’t even love him the much so Paul wrote a song about how John is making Julian’s life hard and that Julian needs to not make it bad as the song says and Paul writes a song that at first they didn’t like but then when it was released on the radio everybody loved it
2.) Stairway to Heaven- Led Zeppelin
Another long song but totally worth it
It has one of the greatest guitar solo’s of all time and an unforgettable acoustic guitar performance by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant’s vocals are incredible and the lyrics he wrote made it amazing and at the end of the song that’s one of the most unforgettable line’s in music “And she’s buying the Stairway to Heaven”
Honorable Mentions:
Light My Fire- The Doors
Imagine- John Lennon
Purple Haze- The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Let It Be- The Beatles
Yesterday- The Beatles
Here Comes the Sun- The Beatles
Back in Black- ACDC
Johnny B. Goode- Chuck Berry
Dream On- Aerosmith
Another Brick In The Wall Part 2- Pink Floyd
Comfortably Numb- Pink Floyd
Master Of Puppets- Metallica
Enter Sandman- Metallica
Staying Alive- Bee Gees
Welcome to the Jungle- Guns N’ Roses
Thriller- Michael Jackson
1.) Bohemian Rhapsody- Queen
There’s no explanation why this is #1

Eminem, Michael Jackson, Elvis, ABBA, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Aero Smith, the Who, Nirvana, Queen, van halen, black sabath, kiss, Jimmy hendrix, John lennon, thats a top 16 that in any order could be argued to be decade defining artists/groups that all have songs that could be on any top 10 decade defining song list, i might have missed some, IF I have Let me know, but i think its hard to make a top 10 list With so many options to pick from, Great video though.
