haha i warm up in a training top and my suit pulled down to my waist
Ya at my latest meet there were kids warming up and down in tech suits lol
Very Passionate & Always Informative........Still working through your backlog with my son 💪🏽
Glad to hear it! Enjoy!
Another good video , this will definitely help me
When I got my first knee skin I did wear it for warmup I only swam a few laps since I swam a longer warmup before I put it on but I had never had a knee skin before so I wanted to see how it felt. Also I have been told before that you can’t use soap when rinsing out a tech suit since it can burn holes in it, is that accurate? 👍🏻
That's fair enough if you wanted to experience the feel of a kneeskin as it would be a different experience for sure. As one off these things are fine.
That's absolutely not accurate. There are some brands who recommend just a rinse with water and no soap but the majority recommend soap. Them arenas have been worn and rinsed well over 50 times now and not a single hole in sight!!!
TheSwimsuitGuy Thanks so much for the reply! 👍🏻
Swimmer Life yes
Helpful thx :)
Hey just wanted to say the sound is way better!
Max Schlüter thanks man! Yes I had to do something.
Good tips mate 👍
Cheers
I have never worn a tech suit and before watching this video I though it could be a good idea to wear a tech suit during warm up so i could get used to the feeling of it because I was thinking if I didn't get used to the feeling of it it could affect my performance while racing in a negative way since it would catch me by "surprise" sort of, what would you say in that situation?
If your that worried first wear one for a stand up in training, that'll be a lot less water contact than a warm up. But it only has a positive effect so don't think it'll throw you off negatively! Enjoy wearing one for the first time in a race, you'll go fast ;)
what would u say about your little warm up 5 mins before the race in the extra lane and should u wear ur suit for that?
I'd still say no. If you are fortunate enough to be able to do a secondary warm up I think it should still be done in a training suit.
(I have a Carbon Air 2) So uh I have like a tiny tiny (a little less than the length/width of a needle of a thumbtack) rip at the seam of my tech suit it’s like right underneath the groin area from trying to put one on for the first time, do you think it’ll affect my 50 and 100 time? My guess is it could affect me only on like the 200 and higher. Or will the second layer work like the first and I have nothing to worry about?
just get it replaced if it was first time
This is really hard. I’m doing a meeting soon where I am the first race. How am I going to get ready in time my suit is not big it’s so tight and small it takes about 15 minutes to put on while dry. So how am I going to get ready when I’m wet? I don’t think I will have enough time. What would you do?
Obviously every meet will have different time frames but take your time drying yourself before putting it on and give yourself enough time between warm up and your first event!
would u wear the suit for the warmup before ur race?
I don't wear the suit for the whole team warmup tho
Potentially, if you like to do right before then yes
How can I do if i don't have much time to change into a tech suit before my first race? should I keep it on even on warm up?
Most meets will have enough gap, just have to manage time well, if it really isn't possible warm up in it I guess....
God bless!
Is it a problem if you don’t know if this size is still good for you and put the suit a few times out of the water, with dry skin obviously, just to feel if the compression is still good?(I’m asking especially for a Arena Carbon Air 2).
When you wear the suit is there creases etc? You should know if it fits or not?
TheSwimsuitGuy in this case it still fits, but I have to put it a few times after the quarantine just to make sure it is still good, because I added some kilos and them start to burn them.I just heard that every time you put the Carbon,no matter if in the water of not,the carbon fibers are spoiling and I want to ask you if this is true. The suit is relatively new-on 7,8 starts.
@@georgiyanev7438 if you rinse it out every time you use it it should last quite a while
Is it hard to get on a wet suit while being wet?
Going to have my first meet with an expensive suit (Avictor, Tyr) and I'm afraid that if I'm wet after warm up I won't get it on.. (Bought it, and it is on its way, but I ordered 1 or 2 sizes smaller than my usual training suit). I also have 50 fly and 50 breast the same day (few hours in between), so the suit will still be wet. Should I just keep it on the whole day? It is my first international meet (I'm a masters swimmer), so it's a big deal! :)
Firstly try the suit ok before the meet.
It will be harder to put on wet so just take your time drying off after warm up. If you have a few hours between races get out the suit. Let it try. Relax in something comfy then put it back on. They dry quickly when new.
@@TheSwimsuitGuy Thank you! I'll try that 😊
I bought a racing suit yesterday and I broke it at my first event, the suit is only around $87. The qualify isn't that good
That's terrible they should replace it!
Is rinsing it with soap better than just water for a mizuno?
Just water I'd say
I heard it's not a good idea to hang a tech suit to dry, as gravity will wear the water down and stretch the suit. You think it's better to lay the suit on a towel and let it air dry?
I've never put to much thought into how to dry. I have never heard that theory, lay them flat if you worried about it being true!
Ys thats true
Can you spray neverwet over an old tech suit?
I don't see why not but I've never heard of anyone doing. Let me know how it goes if you do!
i knew this
May I ask if I need to take it off if I swim once and the next game is 1-2 hours apart? Or can I wear a short swim trunk underneath, take it off at the end of the race and wear board shorts or pants over the short swim trunk please how should I do this?
or at intervals of about 30 minutes.
If you have 2 hours between races get changed yes
@@TheSwimsuitGuy Thank you, what should I do if the interval is 1 to 1.5 hours?
For women's suits, would taking the suit on and off a lot wear it out faster?
It'll stretch it each time but nothing major. I recommend getting out of a suit between races.
Could u just put on a practice suit over the techsuit for a warmup or warmdown before or after an event respectively instead of taking off the techsuit. Ofc for the big warmup where every team swims, i would use a practice suit for sure.
The practice suit over the top foes nothing, I've never understood why people do.
@@TheSwimsuitGuy ah ok but havent done that yet! ill just take off my tech suit whenever reasonably possible to practice those 5 steps
After a tech suit wears out, could you wear it as a training suit.
Wear it for stand ups etc
Not everyday, that'd make no sense
Can i put my tech suit in refrigerator for tightness?
Dunno why you would
Excuse me you said IF you get two races in a session?! I’m sorry sir I do up too four races each sessions. Only time I have one or two races in a session is finals
Well two or more!
How tf do u not wear it for cool down
it takes like 30 seconds to change back into briefs.
If you are a girl it can take a good 20mins to take your racing suit on and off, by the time you get it off you will have lost the opportunity to cool down and most of the time 30mins later you have another event.
@@jessicaodonnell6257 getting off shouldn't take 20? I used to race in a full body suit, took ages to get on but getting off is much easier!
Obviously if you have another race 30 mins later getting changed isn't an option though but last race of a session then yes you should get changed really quick.
In a meet how would my Tech suit dry?
they are made out of a material that drys VERY quickly when new. it takes about 2-3 mins for the suit to be completely dry.
Hang it up?
341
What about if you swim 1500m? How do you keep the suit good??
Just rinse etc after. Obviously will take more of a toll than a sprint but got to be done. Also try and find something known for being more durable!
What if you have multiple swims in a meet that is in 2 hours but your suit is already wet
Just got to get it done 🤷
Oops l mean if you have multiple races. Do you dry it or just keep it on
@@timleung2315 if you only have one suit hope it dries and leave on. I'd recommend having multiple decent cheap tech suits than one flagship so you can change for each race still. Get a load of Mizuno MX Sonics from Amazon JP
Ok
That’s why I am not a big fan of tech suits!
So you must not were your skins
No just wear them only for races!
God bless!
