  • In this one we go back in time...nearly 70 years in fact! and we see our old Fordson Dexta at work on our scraper. We also finally get to work fixing our broken silage pit/muck store after 6 long years! I think it looks smart, what do you think?
    I hope you enjoy it

Got to love it when dads talk like they’ve never bent anything in their life.

its great to see one still working, Its a new performance super dexta which would make it a 1964. I have a 1960 standard dexta that was supplied by Hallmarks of Ashby and it then spent all its life in Market Bosworth

Good to see the old Dexta working but it is definitely not a 1958 model, more like 62 , it's a super dexta.

How old is your Dad. I was born in 1965 and learnt to drive on Fordson Majors and super Majors before they let me drive the Ford 4000s.😊😊😊😊

Hi James I have a 1960 face lift Dexta to find the exact date yours was made the serial number is on the lip of the bell housing between the engine and clutch on the left hand side of the tractor with that number you will be able to find the manufacturing date but Super Dextas were only manufactured between 1962-1964.

Fairly sure it’s a 1963/64 new performance super dexta unless its tin work was replaced with newer panels when it was written off

How come you don’t fill the pit with silage? Save on bales?

I'm not sure.... I think it's more 1963/64 ??🤔 we've got a Dexter (1958) bought in 1984 with the Horndrolic loader, like yours, then came the Super Dexter, the first one's had orange wheels and grills, yours must be a later one.
