I have a confession. I found you by accident. Know nothing about anything you cover if we're honest..but watching you work and the changes you've made in your life.. You're awesome Andy.
I can identify with this comment, I just want that more people was willing to share honest opinion without having to be politically correct or biased, the world would be much better place…Love you and God bless !
The best thing about things going south (no offense to those who are from, or who live in, the South) is that you just might learn a whole lot of cool stuff about something you never really gave much thought to. Just today in my GED homework, I had a word problem asking for the slant height of a cone, given only its surface area and its radius. I had no idea a cone had that many parts to it, let alone how to use them for measuring, but I went to work on memorizing and using two formulas, applying common sense, and getting the correct answer. In short, I enjoyed myself immensely, and I will never struggle with a cone problem like this ever again. All in all, not a bad day...
A shear bolt won't put you out of business and they are Much Much Much cheaper that u joint setups A box of shear bolts cost less than one ujoint and a whole lot safer too. Take care running that mill!
Andy, I'm so glad you're making UA-cam videos again. My brother (also an Andy) hipped me to your content about a year ago. I watched all the videos and noticed you'd stopped posting. But now your back and thank you.
Couple points. You could of cut off the tail shaft on the drive shaft instead of moving the whole power unit. Second I think you could find a pto slip clutch on an old bush hog that has been scrapped. Sometimes augers or elevators have then. Great videos man I watch every one.
Thanks so much. I learn something new everyday when I watch your videos. I have 2 outriggers on the backhoe attachment that leak. The seals need replaced. Taking it apart will be easier because of you. Not so bougie white woman!
We can start the weekend off with a smile thanks to some technical get a bigger hammer humor. Make that cherry log into firewood just to show it who's the final judge. Can you block the Detroit power plant up a little higher to make the drive line straight as possible? Takes out lots of internal stress on the joints when turning heavy masses like your mill. Take care.
Hi From S.E.MI, Andy you are Hilarious!// I 😄 laugh so hard watching you, Try to Make believe you don't know what you are doing,//You have a Great deal of talent//Bringing Ancestral Machinery back to life//Especially with your wording & Jokes// No matter what, Everything works out at the end// God Bless & Protect you and your Precious Family🙏
Working with an ole beast like that thing you need to listen to some Texas hippie coalition, Pissed off and mad about it . Always good getting something fixed. Keep getting it !!
I looked at that and said that looks like the front drive shaft from my old 77 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4! BTW the CV joint is the same one in a full sized GM tug boat like an Impala wagon, Caprice, Bonneville, Olds 98 etc. I also would consider a hanger loop up under that catwalk so if it ever grenades again, it doesn't take out the engine end also. For reference, ask a semi mechanic. The u- joints without a snap ring used a plastic injection from the factory.
Hey Andy. That bearing puller is called a squaa snatch where I’m from. To be fair I work with a bunch of old guys that know a thing or two about a thing or two
1:34 that there is a Double Cardan and its to help stabilize drive shafts at funky angles. Your mill likely doesn’t need it though, but you’d need a longer driveshaft overall.
I actually know an old timer that replaces the teeth, sharpens, and all around services them big blades like that here in the Upper Peninsula. His name is Charlie..
I have had to pound out bearings to replace them at my job in the past. I’m just thankful we had tools specifically designed for the task. That being said, a few times I’ve hit myself and got blood blisters that, as you well know, make you question why you tried to begin with 🤣
That is a dual cardan so that you do not have to match the angle of both shafts. if you do not match angles on a single cardan, it will create a horrible wobble. There are some good videos on driveshaft/pinion angle setup.
Just a suggestion Andy !!! Maybe 1or2 drives shaft loops to keep it from violently Flailing around if it comes apart again.. only my safe thinking bud!
Andy, firstly I really appreciate your content and secondly, a set of mechanic's pick tools would help you lots, getting out internal snap rings/C clips, as well as O rings in your hydraulic/cooling systems. Treat yourself buddy!
Welp, I guess we're going to learn how to fix axe handles now....😅 Glad to see you keep on trying no matter what happens. Let er wobble! Ps I bet it's something like Ride of the Valkyrie or high tempo classical 😁
Ball joint clamp or removal tool..........basically its a beefy c clamp.....and an impact gun if you dont have a press is absolutely vital to make these jobs so much easier.
Just found your channel. I love the old corley and frick Mills I was raised with a corley 440 pulled with a 6v53 Detroit . Good video. In my opinion you just need to upgrade your drive shaft its not strong enough to handle the torque of that 471. It just will not hold up very long . But that's just my opinion. Keep putting out mill videos. I liked this one a lot.
We have a bandsaw sawmill. Nothing near the horsepower you have but we can cut a log like that. Watering the blade and slow pushing the blade through the log. Takes a long time when they are seasoned out.
Another small suggestion is a driveshaft safety loop or 2, i anything it will keep shaft contained and off the ground. Song is - i will be heard by hatebreed
I just discovered your channel today. So entertaining Regarding the drive shaft, it may be an optical illusion but the angle of the centerlines looks way too severe. I don’t remember what the maximum permitted angle is but check with your drive shaft shop.
Tip when your pounding metal thing apart,& together I’ve discovered having a firm inflexible work surface, will give you more bang for each thump buddy
I see Andy uploads
I click like
I make a coffee and watch
I let her wobble
God bless
God bless you as well!

"Load bearing paint" is possibly the best quote ever.
Also "it can't be tight if it's liquid"
14 seconds! Thanks, deeply for the personal episode. Super needed that for myself. Thank you
As a professional bolt turner. I appreciate your f@@k around and find out approach to this problem. Keep on keeping on. Good work!
"I don't have a shop press" Me half expecting the next scene to be you using the tractor loader as a press because that's the kind of thing I'd try.

The outside of the blade is spinning at 88miles an hour?? If you had a flux capacitor, that's the right speed for time travel.
hahahah
A shear bolt won't put you out of business and they are Much Much Much cheaper that u joint setups A box of shear bolts cost less than one ujoint and a whole lot safer too. Take care running that mill!
I'm really surprised there isn't a shear bolt or slip clutch in that setup
It's cool to see Andy working on that old equipment and keeping it running.
Andy, I'm so glad you're making UA-cam videos again. My brother (also an Andy) hipped me to your content about a year ago. I watched all the videos and noticed you'd stopped posting. But now your back and thank you.
He was on FB that whole time.
@@ryanfischer6550 I heard. Just prefer UA-cam myself. Thanks
Love the VABFD shirt I live thirty minutes from there. You took the " Let it wobble " literally. God Bless.
Wobbledoofer problems are the worst, hope she holds together for you!!
Couple points. You could of cut off the tail shaft on the drive shaft instead of moving the whole power unit. Second I think you could find a pto slip clutch on an old bush hog that has been scrapped. Sometimes augers or elevators have then. Great videos man I watch every one.
I never would have guessed the song but holy sh!t what a good one. I'm impressed with your taste in music Sir!!!
you are one handy guy! enjoy watching your progress with the farm
Thanks so much. I learn something new everyday when I watch your videos. I have 2 outriggers on the backhoe attachment that leak. The seals need replaced. Taking it apart will be easier because of you. Not so bougie white woman!
I haven't listened to Chevelle in forever!
Oh the joys of keeping old equipment running!
Take a slip clutch off an old hay bailer. Those things work great. Bailers were always jamming and th clutch system worked great. Peace 🕊️

You the man Andy. Getting it done. Keeping on fighting through it.
Great to see the Mill up and rusning again. 😎👍
Probably one of the best Chevelle albums of all time and my all time favorite. I def guessed wrong however 😅
You Listened to Stairway to Heaven after the WobbleDoofer Was all Put Back Together again!
Working with an ole beast like that thing you need to listen to some Texas hippie coalition, Pissed off and mad about it . Always good getting something fixed. Keep getting it !!
Most things in life don't scare me, but that saw mill is terrifying. "Spinning wheel of death" doesn't even describe 1% of how bad it is.
Andy! Good to see you on UA-cam!
Is so good to see you back up and posting again brother. Stay strong
We all learned something every day. You did an awesome job! Thank you for sharing! 😊
You had it’s a great day to be alive by Travis Tritt playing.
Im glad to see you have good taste in music
Glad to see you back on UA-cam
Andy, what you are looking for is called a viscous coupling for your driveshaft.
The song was Wrecking Ball. Keep up the good work.
You have a lot more patience than I do, Thanks for sharing always appreciate it, always learn a thing or two from you... god bless.
I love my ball joint press from harbor freight for u joints. Works great on almost all u-joints that I do. Those look small enough.
Hank Williams Jr. “A Country Boy Can Survive”?! Or some AC/DC “Highway To Hell”?!🤣
I looked at that and said that looks like the front drive shaft from my old 77 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4!

Always love your content and it has helped me through some stuff just wanted to say thanx for what you do
A cool trick for u joints if you have a ball joint press it doubles as a u joint press on weekends lmao glad to see you posting more again
Dixon Dallas , whiskey , playing . Sure would like to have that hat...lol
Hey Andy. That bearing puller is called a squaa snatch where I’m from. To be fair I work with a bunch of old guys that know a thing or two about a thing or two

1:34 that there is a Double Cardan and its to help stabilize drive shafts at funky angles. Your mill likely doesn’t need it though, but you’d need a longer driveshaft overall.
wobble-doofer is both easier to say and more descriptive.
@@tgraham1961that's why most guys call it a CV joint. 😂

Also known as a constant velocity joint.
Good Luck! Good Bless Andy!
Jimmy Buffett, Ringling Ringling was probably the song 😂
I wonder if you can use a belt instead of a chain when pairing? For a clutch
Just a suggestion Andy !!! Maybe 1or2 drives shaft loops to keep it from violently Flailing around if it comes apart again.. only my safe thinking bud!
Bro! You're good stuff for sure
Instant like... Best part was I got the notification when a beer was already in my hand... let 'er wobble.
Good for you, just glad Andy gave up drinking and got his family back.
Velocity joint
Song was "baby shark"
Andy, firstly I really appreciate your content and secondly, a set of mechanic's pick tools would help you lots, getting out internal snap rings/C clips, as well as O rings in your hydraulic/cooling systems. Treat yourself buddy!
I just came to the comments to see what a ‘wabbleduffer’ is 😂
You live and you learn as you go. It’s the way that you live in life that counts.
Welp, I guess we're going to learn how to fix axe handles now....😅
Glad to see you keep on trying no matter what happens. Let er wobble!

Im gonna get a sticker for my trucks gas tank that says wobble juice thanks to you
Ball joint clamp or removal tool..........basically its a beefy c clamp.....and an impact gun if you dont have a press is absolutely vital to make these jobs so much easier.
Damn Andy sorry about your luck buddy but I appreciate your additude 💯💪
Gotta be try that in a small town!! lol that is a nice slab of wood
Your wobbledoofer is just a double cardan joint helps reduce binding at extreme angles.
I love that song.
I’m thinking a slip clutch off of a big batwing mower retrofit is a next project . Lol
You can get a slip clutch from TSC or Rural King. Or a place that makes heavy duty driveshafts
Andy I love raw wood shelters and anything else such as a sawmill. How about showing your set up and the sawmill in progress. Everything looks great.
You’re listening to the itsy bitsy spider. Go on and admit that’s what you are listening to 😂

Its called a whisker biscuit because it shuts down any vibration transfer from one to the other 😂

I wonder if the make a cv joint replacements for them universal jounts. ( wonder if it would hold up better) .
Double Cardan Joint. Common on Jeeps and other solid axle vehicles.
Music guess: Since your a former Coastie, I'm going to say you were listening to "It's Raining Men" 😂😂 Love Ya Brother!!!!

🤣🤣🤣
"It's not gay if we're under way."
@@koziarsk 🤣🤣🤣
My wife accuses me of breaking everything. I gotta start showing her your videos so she thinks I'm not so bad! 🤣
You’re in northern Michigan. you can go to Valley truck parts or Weller truck parts in Traverse City to build you whatever driveshaft you need
Great video
precision movement
What if you took the flywheel assembly off a baler it contains a slip clutch and shear bolt and made with a universal joint?
I have always used A vice to push out and in new u j joints
Wobbledoofer ...brilliant 😆
And they say you can't see torque. 😂😂
Andy video day... its gonna be a good day
Another small suggestion is a driveshaft safety loop or 2, i anything it will keep shaft contained and off the ground.
Song is - i will be heard by hatebreed
For the hat, "Hot Rod Lincoln".
I recon you should call that engine the Thunberg Express...
Gotta be listening to " ride the lightning"
My man...I think you need to put a driveshaft safety loop.
It’s a double cardan joint. It helps reduce the i joint angle on that end by half
Oh. I just caught the end. 😢
I just discovered your channel today. So entertaining Regarding the drive shaft, it may be an optical illusion but the angle of the centerlines looks way too severe. I don’t remember what the maximum permitted angle is but check with your drive shaft shop.
Was the song “rip rip wood chip” by John Williamson.?
The song is of course
Alvin Lee's: Detroit Diesel.
Even if it wasn't, it should be!
I want the hat.
You're definitely listening to September by Earth Wind and Fire in those headphonesahah
Is there any way to loosen the v belts to act as a slip clutch for the time being?
Andy...that's the torque torpedo wobble buffer! I can't believe you didn't know that!
Also, you can weld up a press with some scrap I-beam, a 2 ton bottle jack, and some heavy duty springs from the hardware store. Your welcome!😂😂
Tip when your pounding metal thing apart,& together I’ve discovered having a firm inflexible work surface, will give you more bang for each thump buddy
