It works! Guys! It does work! I have wavey hair. So, I tried that last night. This morning I'm looooving the result. My hair looks so straight! I have got lots of compliment 😄💌
This technique works 100% my grandmothers have been doing it for decades and not only for straightened hair but also after washing, apply whatever products then just use this technique sleep with it over night in the morning you'll end up with wavy/straight hair(depeding on hair texture)- but the key is to moisturise your hair well.
@@pohyamone3508 "Depending on your hair type, sleeping on wet hair can actually boost your texture and help with your wave,” she says. But how did this rumor get started in the first place? It likely didn’t start out as a beauty myth, but rather as a health one with your mom saying you’ll catch a cold with wet hair. But sorry, moms, you’re wrong about this one. “This idea seems to fit into the old bit of folklore that getting yourself chilled and wet will cause you to come down with a cold,” William Schaffner, MD, a professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, told TIME. As he astutely noted, “You cannot catch a cold from being cold.”
@@alannahlee1705 its not really about catching a cold. Its about the health of your scalp. If its wet for our, warm because of body heat, bacteria and fungus can find it really cozy there and damage your scalp.

Great tutorial! I've been doing something similar for a while so I wanted to add a few tips I've learned. 1) I apply the oil at the ends before bed so it has time to soak in while I sleep, it also helps a lot with the tangles in the morning and increases the sheen. 2) If you're on day 2+, put dry shampoo in at your roots before you brush and wrap it, it will help to add volume and absorb the oil while you sleep so you can extend how many days you go between washes!! 3) Also, I find I get straighter hair if I use 2-3 large clips (or large bobby pins) to secure while I'm wrapping, then put the scarf on, secure it to almost as tight as you want it, and carefully pull the clips out before doing the final double knot. This avoids all the creases. If you're also sleeping on a silk pillowcase your scarf shouldn't come off and your hair should stay in place all night (my hair is as long as yours). I also put the flat side of my scarf in the back because that's what will rub against my pillow the most, and the knot at the front of my head. 4) You mentioned liking the volume you get. Instead of going the direction of your part, go the opposite direction and when you do the top center section, wrap it towards your forehead first so you get more volume at the root.
This brings back so many memories from childhood. As soon as your mama got done pressing your hair she wrapped it so you didn’t sweat it out. Lol I still wrap my hair whenever I wear it straight. It’s a must.
Sometimes I wish my mum knew about natural hair care, I had to figure out all this stuff :( but I know it now so it's all good! Thank you for watching 💕
Omg I'm Indian and my grandmother used to do it all the time as it's an old Indian practice, she used to tell me to do it instead of using heat and I always laughed at her and used heat anyway now my hair is super damaged. I should've listened to her. I do it regularly now and my hair looks great.
I always suck at this. Sometimes I say screw it too. However, It really does help. Im sure if I did it properly, it would be more effective. I also dislike scarfs, although I know they help too ^_^
i just wrap my hair one time around it’s sometime a struggle but i get it done lol. i really sucked at wrapping but as i kept doing it i got better thank god. im glad i dont have to do it all the time now that im natural.
The first time I ever straightened my hair, it was already curly again when I woke up because I got hot and sweaty. It was sad too, because it took a long time. So, I might try to wrap it
I wrap mine around in one continuous wrap including the crown and I use a boar bristle brush to smooth it and it stays well. I brush the crown forward and down and around into the wrap in the direction it is going. Of course, your hair is way longer than mine so that could be a factor. I hope you are going to upload a video showing us how you put on that pretty wig from Instagram :-)
I think Lana just saved me when I wanna wrap my hair when i straighten it out. I was always frustrated to wrap my hair and always left it like idc but thanks Lana 😍😍😍
If you know an easier way then please let me knowww, I think my way is easy but its the only way I know how to do it, I'm always looking for shortcuts 😅
Lana Summer it's similar to how you did it like I said. I don't know how to explain it but there are couple of videos here. Just type "tubi". It's 100x easier like I said.
aside from the fact that this is very useful and my grandmother and mother have been using them for ages but no offense I LOVE HOW CONFIDENT YOU ARE CUZ YOU SHOWED YOUR NECK AND PART OF YOUR BACK EVEN THO ITS KINDA HAIRY WHICH IS SO RELATABLE TO ME AND I'M VERY INSECURE ABOUT IT
Does this work for all hair types? Cause I know people who use durags in the same way, I'll have to try when I'm older anyway cause my mums a control freak
Hey Lana! I am a new subscriber and I am trying to grow out my hair! Would you recommend Via Natural ultra care Argan oil for curly hair? I know this is a different subject but thought I would ask! Thanks!

Is your hair curly..?? How long this last..?
This doesn't look great at all on everyone

For some reason my scarf stays on really well when I do this, it's definitely worth it if you find yourself straightening your hair too often :)
Why are you here than good bye

how do u wrap it around one time?
It work guys!
I was literally struggling and it got work ❤
Yay, I'm glad it helped!
The first time I ever straightened my hair, it was already curly again when I woke up because I got hot and sweaty. It was sad too, because it took a long time. So, I might try to wrap it
If you sweat, allow the hair to dry completely before take down

Ahhhhh, thank you!! 💕
You are gorgeous long or short hair. Thanks for the best video easy to follow on this subject !
I think Lana just saved me when I wanna wrap my hair when i straighten it out. I was always frustrated to wrap my hair and always left it like idc but thanks Lana 😍😍😍
Shameika Solan 👐👐
Love all your videos Lana😶 🙂
Shameika Solan x
You make it look so easy I'm dying over here cause it's not working
your not the only one haha this is hard with short hair
Looks too complicated for me
You're really pretty and your hair looks amazing.💕💕
In Dominican Republic we call this a Tubey, or Tubi, or Doobie. Maybe because your hair is like a tube around your head.
I like that name for it! Its cute!
Isabel Ragland yes thats right we dominican girls do this every night and then put a redesilla(net) over it.
It's a lot easier though. She complicated this and put this in a level 10-difficulty at its best.
If you know an easier way then please let me knowww, I think my way is easy but its the only way I know how to do it, I'm always looking for shortcuts 😅

In Morocco we call this technique "patcha" super effective
Ooo, I never knew what to call it before!
ah oui
Very satisfying results
Wondering if this would work on curly hair that hasn't been straightened. Like maybe wrapped when right out of the shower and the dried like this.
OMG! i love your blouse! where'd you get it?
my hair ia big wave i have very flyway puffy hair so i jus do this after a before wash conditioner
El tubi! (Dominicans, hands up!)😆
Does this work for all hair types? Cause I know people who use durags in the same way, I'll have to try when I'm older anyway cause my mums a control freak
Can it be done on wet curly hair, my hair is 3b naturally and I want to straighten it without heat
Can you do it when your hair is curly not straitend ?
Hey Lana do u think applying Vick’s to your hair will stimulate it and make it grow please say yes!🙏🏾
Try rice water
In Dominican Republic we call this Tubi 😍😍❤️
I heard that this way of doing the hair pulls it and provokes hair fall , is it true or shall I just go ahead and do it ?
How are the Bobby pins not leaving lines in your hair.. .??
Omg your hair length😩😩😩😩💜💜💜💜
❤️
What if it’s a middle part
Will it work on curly hair?
Hey Lana!
I am a new subscriber and I am trying to grow out my hair! Would you recommend Via Natural ultra care Argan oil for curly hair? I know this is a different subject but thought I would ask! Thanks!
I'm a white girl with red hair, kinda wavy, do I have to wear the cap with the pins? They are so expensive but bobby pins really aren't.
Will Bobby pins cause dents in hair?
hi Lana I really, really, really love ur hair n ur sooooo pretty
Great idea! Where did you find your scarf, Lana?
The scarf is from Hair Flair (curlformers) :) x
Yay!! Thanks so much!!
I love your make up...can I find tutorials on your make up..
Can you do a tutorial but with bangs Im confused on how to wrap
Wow you look so pretty!!!
In Dominican Republic we do this, we call it Duvi or tubi
Your stunning & thank you for sharing 🙏
Should you do this with wet or damp hair ?
It's to save your straight hair so obviously wetting it when you have curly hair would just ruin the straight hair
U r so cute and literally your eyes are killing❤️
Your so beautiful thank you so much 💗❤️
Thank you!! And thanks for watching!! 💕
I want someone to do this to me. I have the same length of hair and watching the video is pretty easy rather than implementing it... 🙃
Looks cool ,, but how can u sleep with all those Bobby pins🙄🙄
Not being rude but excuse me Lana Summer your hairs are already straight in the start of the video!!!,,,,,
“Peanut head” LOL
lmaoo!!
But my hair is curly,
You know what, today I straightened my hair and was about to do this method but then I started and I was just like screw it idc
It's not for everyone I guess 🤣
What kinda scarf is it???
I am really confused? I thoughtthis was for curly natural hair?????😞
It’s called a tubi .-.
I didn't know that before, it's a cute name for it!
Its called different things lmao
what with the .-. tho. not all knows what is it called.
You might want to update about of your channel
Just a question after you do this when you wash your hair will it be curly again
Great technique 👌🏼☺️
