Honestly they should've gone a more creature route for alt modes. They probably did rock vehicles because they thought "nobody wants rocks" which is understandable. I would've been into rock type creatures. Like instead of a helicopter make it more insect like. Instead of a bumpy truck be a bulldog demon type creature.

The Rock guys were a separate type of transformer toys back in the mid 80's when they came out. Pretty sure Hasbro just bought the Rights to this toy line and brought them into the transformers universe. I use to own alot of these rock guys when I was a kid. They were all just bolders that had simple transforming abilities into characters with lots of basic movements and no real gimmicks. Nice video PrimevsPrime.
My headcanon as to where the armorizers come from is that they come from an alternate universe version of cybertron where it was far more technologically advanced during the Great War, leading a mass glassing of the planet turning the planet into a giant rock. New cybertronians would eventually emerge with no memory of the war, however cybertron’s new state would greatly alter their bodies, causing them to become more rock or even crystal than machine. Soon the armorizers would be abducted by the quintessons and sent to multiple other universes to sow discord as their own faction, but they could sometimes also be seen working for decepticon/predacon commanders throughout the multiverse, notably serving magmatron during his campaign against Lio Convoy on a post apocalyptic earth in the far future.

Can we all agree that we need an Animated Megatron after this? I only bring him up because of his alt mode being a helicopter as well, and he would look amazing with Animated Optimus (or any other character)
Shard is the best "weaponizer" gimmick so far. I got it days ago, and it has been so damn fun creating stuff, only using shard. The chest, you could put inside a prime master , and translucent plastic chest, make sit visually cool with the inside. you can even put and headmaster inside, and it has an head on his chest. xD I have so much fun with it (making jet-pack for tarn, 2 types of batons and 2 types of bow staff, and more weaponry... damn. FUUUN) magneous, has a robot visual and alt mode, i was into him, and liked him enough to get him, although he is useless as armorizer. Shard is what it should have been. for me. That head is so guyver style. Even her body part, i can,. you can, make double barrel big cannon for tarn (i did it and it looks really awesome), while magneous body part is just useless to do anything with it...
You say that there's nothing you can do with the body, but I noticed there's a 5mm post on the inverse part of his hips that's revealed in vehicle mode. Maybe there's something that can be done with that? Can you plug Shard into that port on the front of Magneus that's used for his axe/battering ram?
The way his helicopter mode looks reminds me of when Arachnid got hers in Transformers: Prime. And I think I may have just created my own Rock Lord that being a giant one that turns into either a tank or a driller and his name is Earthquake.
the Infernac Universe characters/Armorisers are not based on Tonka's Gobots Rock Lords but Hasbro's other property that is the Inhumanoids and the Armorisers are based on a monster sub-group from that series called the Granites which are shapeshifting rock creatures.

It looks like the booster/blaster parts can slot into the fists without issue. Could you take them and, using he wrist rotation, mount them facing rearward in order to have them act as jet engine boosters?

I definitely think they could do a heavy retool into an Airachnid. At least to fit the Legacy Prime Arcee.
A bit of retooling and that transformation skeleton could work for beast machines Obsidian. Magneous could even make a passable Strika.
