As a 55 year old woman, I appreciate a show talking about issues women of our age goes through. There are plenty of other shows geared towards the 30 year olds. Unfortunately entertainment industry don't find 50 something sexy or worth targeting but they forget the 30 year olds 20 years ago are older now. We would like to see our demographics represented.
This was one of the reasons for the show but did they delivered? NO They turned 50t olds into 20 some things, not even those characters behaved like this on their 30’s during the showtime. This whole show could’ve been taken to that perspective you’re talking about but in nothing but a shameless cashgrab Hopefully this season will show the same August by the public as the 1st
I feel they aged all of them. Miranda and Steve are acting like Pensioners. Meanwhile she is a very active and successful politician. SJP is also now a quirky cooky lady, even though she is very much active in real life
At 55, women do not usually decide to become lesbians out of boredom in their marriage. At 55 if you are a balanced woman, do not behave as if you were in your 20’s. This show is just a ridiculous attempt to be all inclusive and it just accomplished the opposite: All exclusive. Nobody behaves the way all the characters behave in this circus called…and just like that.
5:20 she’s asked about bringing Kim Cattrall back. You can tell she’s careful with her words so as not to direct any attention to how Kim initially felt about Sarah and the cast. She answered it perfectly and professionally. Kim Cattrall “Samantha” is the most iconic character of the whole series. You say Sex and the City and most people would exclaim, “OMG I love Samantha.” Hopefully this might open the door for Kim to maybe even consider a bit more for this series reboot into season 3. It’s also clear that Kim agreed to it only on the basis of shooting it without the other actresses.
To me, the characters in this show are so much like the actresses who play them that interviews like this blur the line. When she mentions Charlotte and Miranda or talks about Samantha, I forget that I'm watching SJP and think I'm watching Carrie Bradshaw lol

Such class. Living in the West Village, I see SJP once a week, at least. She always hello to me and my dog as we live on her block. She does not know my name but she knows I am a neighbor and she is a real sweetheart.
I love this show and I love that they’re continuing with their current lives. The first season was jolting in so many ways; Big, the changes in the characters over the years, how different their lives are now, the stuff they go through, but that’s how life is. We’re only young once. I’m thrilled they didn’t make just a “mature” version of SATC. I may be the same person, but my life isn’t at all the same as it was in the early 2000s, and it’s the same for them. I do hope they get to lighten up a bit more in the 2nd season, though.
I wanted them all back, whatever happened in the past, the past is over, they all have a heart to forgive, and when they do, that's all that matters, right, the more their show will have human values. I love them all😘 thank you for a beautiful season💕 keep them together💕

I love the way SJP wears her necklaces pulled to the side (I saw her do this before, with a necklace pulled to the side tucked in her bra). That's a cute, clever idea so the necklace doesn't distract from the top. .... And I think when Kim Cattrall appears onscreen, many fans watching from home will jump out of their seats and give her a standing ovation! I think the show starts tomorrow, and damn, I'm so busy, but it's on my list for sure! 💓💞

So, literally the entire cast, every guest star, every crew member, every writer and every producer happily came back to work with SJP again, but Kim Cattrall didn't. SJP has a well-established reputation of being a very kind, generous and respectful person.
Exactly! There would be grounds to question SJP’s behaviour if multiple people had the same feelings about working with her but they clearly done and if they do they are being extremely professional about it. Some people don’t get along and those two clearly just didn’t, it happens. To be honest, Kim always struck me as the one likely to have an attitude.
It was Kim's Jealousy the show wasn't built around her and out of control ego. She played her part well, but the end of the day the show from its inception was built around SJP's character. Kim isolated herself from all the cast and producers with Diva like behavior. The rest of them by design were supporting cast for Carrie's story. And correct her feedback on SJP is not consistent with what anyone else has said about working with her.
I've been in many working environments where I was the only target and bullied roughly. When I've left they would find another scapegoat. That's how it goes. Narcissists isolate the victim and lash out their ugliness on them while maintaining flying monkeys to keep their image intact. People tend to go with the many and not leave the herd of the narcissist especially when they have big paychecks to receive, so it's no wonder they enable sjp's abuse by being in a submissive denial about her behavior towards kim, since sjp was a producer and their boss. I also have heard rumors that sjp is very rude..
I loved Carrie in both series. I lost my husband at 49, he wasn’t even sick, there one minute and gone in a second. The most real moment in the show was Carrie trying on bigs wedding ring and nearly losing it while washing her hands. Meeting up with Aidan and getting back with him. It is all very realistic for young widows.
I absolutely hated "and just like that" season 1 as it was being presented but by the end of the season when I looked back on it and after also seeing an interview with Cynthia Nixon, where she reminded everybody that it was never supposed to be Sex and the City, it took on a different meaning for me. I then appreciated it a little more. Think they overdosed on the woke theme as it was almost forced. And what they did to Steve just completely annihilated any hopes of him having a good run. But I do think there were some good things about it and you have to get away from thinking that it should be like the original series. These are different Folks at a different stage in their lives and have evolved.
What they did nail was aging in your middle years and how relationships change and end. I do like the diversity of the new cast in general. The old show was about 4 well off white women chasing men around NYC in $500 shoes. That theme hasn't aged well. The they/them Che and trans Rose was over the top. They should've chosen one or the other, but not both.

With that said, I do think there was too much of everything thrown at us ones who are SATC fans and wanted to devour this show and take whatever crumbs they gave us. Can we agree that all the girls' acting is what really keeps us - their chemistry. I thought the fashion was too much, loved seeing my brown girls but they were so obvious. The genius about SATC was they'd sometimes take a few episodes to get to know a professor and their politics or find out the person someone's interested in has some strong opinions etc. I hope this season it doesn't try to rush and give us too much too soon.
I heard Steve really couldn’t be in it much due to him being on one of those rescue/firefighting shows lol I can’t remember which one it is. Even tho I’ve seen it 😂 but he has a commitment there.
SATC was excellent, this new show is just awful, far too many new characters, which make for weak episodes as they need coverage of everyone. Also falling into the trap of wokeness ensuring they have every race, gender, and sexuality. Big and Samantha help make SATC great, two absolute bosses, who were funny, charming and successful who you rooted for. Killing Big purely for a new plot, as well as Miranda and Steve, is lame. Miranda at no point ever suggested she might be gay, something you know as a kid, not suddenly at 50 LOL. They wrecked several story lines that we spent years watching build up, simply so they could do a reboot/continuation, and a poor one at that, and ratings prove it.
I appreciate how SJP is always positive. I love Kim but lets be honest Kim has been keeping up the drama. Watever happened on set over 20 yrs ago let it go. Trashing SJP was never classy. Miss Cattrall publicly lashed out at Miss Parker when Miss Parker sent Miss Cattrall a sympathy card when her brother died. Miss Cattrall stated that Miss Parker is a phony and wants everything for herself and that the sympathy card was for publicity.

There would be grounds to question SJP’s behaviour if multiple people had the same feelings about working with her but they clearly done and if they do they are being extremely professional about it. Some people don’t get along and those two clearly just didn’t, it happens. To be honest, Kim always struck me as the one likely to have an attitude.
It was Kim's Jealousy the show wasn't built around her and out of control ego. She played her part well, but the end of the day the show from its inception was built around SJP's character. Kim isolated herself from all the cast and producers with Diva like behavior. The rest of them by design were supporting cast for Carrie's story. And correct her feedback on SJP is not consistent with what anyone else has said about working with her.

I've been in many working environments where I was the only target and bullied roughly. When I've left they would find another scapegoat. That's how it goes. Narcissists isolate the victim and lash out their ugliness on them while maintaining flying monkeys to keep their image intact. People tend to go with the many and not leave the herd of the narcissist especially when they have big paychecks to receive, so it's no wonder they enable sjp's abuse by being in a submissive denial about her behavior towards kim, since sjp was a producer and their boss. I also have heard rumors that sjp is very rude..

I loved Carrie in both series. I lost my husband at 49, he wasn’t even sick, there one minute and gone in a second. The most real moment in the show was Carrie trying on bigs wedding ring and nearly losing it while washing her hands. Meeting up with Aidan and getting back with him. It is all very realistic for young widows.

I absolutely hated "and just like that" season 1 as it was being presented but by the end of the season when I looked back on it and after also seeing an interview with Cynthia Nixon, where she reminded everybody that it was never supposed to be Sex and the City, it took on a different meaning for me. I then appreciated it a little more. Think they overdosed on the woke theme as it was almost forced. And what they did to Steve just completely annihilated any hopes of him having a good run. But I do think there were some good things about it and you have to get away from thinking that it should be like the original series. These are different Folks at a different stage in their lives and have evolved.
What they did nail was aging in your middle years and how relationships change and end. I do like the diversity of the new cast in general. The old show was about 4 well off white women chasing men around NYC in $500 shoes. That theme hasn't aged well. The they/them Che and trans Rose was over the top. They should've chosen one or the other, but not both.

With that said, I do think there was too much of everything thrown at us ones who are SATC fans and wanted to devour this show and take whatever crumbs they gave us. Can we agree that all the girls' acting is what really keeps us - their chemistry. I thought the fashion was too much, loved seeing my brown girls but they were so obvious. The genius about SATC was they'd sometimes take a few episodes to get to know a professor and their politics or find out the person someone's interested in has some strong opinions etc. I hope this season it doesn't try to rush and give us too much too soon.

SATC was excellent, this new show is just awful, far too many new characters, which make for weak episodes as they need coverage of everyone. Also falling into the trap of wokeness ensuring they have every race, gender, and sexuality. Big and Samantha help make SATC great, two absolute bosses, who were funny, charming and successful who you rooted for. Killing Big purely for a new plot, as well as Miranda and Steve, is lame. Miranda at no point ever suggested she might be gay, something you know as a kid, not suddenly at 50 LOL. They wrecked several story lines that we spent years watching build up, simply so they could do a reboot/continuation, and a poor one at that, and ratings prove it.

Season 1 of AJLT felt like a concentrated woke propaganda rather than a tribute to the old iconic show.

Still, the social politically corrective-ness of covering Kim Catrail's forthcoming appearance in AJLT this season (2), was hard to digest (like trying to guzzle honey). Seemed like it was challenging for SJP to talk about anything else except, ah, herself/Carrie. Yes, i know that makes sense that SJP can knowingly speak for/of herself, but SJP is not shy about presenting/expressing her vanity. Heres the awakening, SJP has an obvious (to us who are gifted w/a personal physical/emotional messaging inner self) need to promote herself as "more". Kim, on the other hand, does not have that need (to my reading), and has, through her performances as Samantha, inherited a "cult(?)" fan following that SJP/Carrie, does not have. No puffy dress, scarfed hat, or stiletto spiked shoe seems to have outshined Samanthas lasting/impressive presence. I mean, the excitement of Samantha's/Kim's retirn is carrying AJLT at the moment.
