That would be such a twist and explain why the Gorosei treat Imu like a holy figure. Thematically Sun god vs Sun god would fit perfectly. Since Joyboy and Imu already seem to be inversions

IMU has some sort of Oracle fruit i think. Like a magnifying glass. Once awakened it can magnify anything it wants, so IMU magnifies the light coming from the sun and turns it LETHAL that will just vaporize everything.
That sounds possible
I imagine Kizaru is actually sporting the highest version of his fruit. What keeps it balanced in comparison to Akainu and Aoikiji is the fact that Kizaru is lazy, meaning he's unlikely to utilize its full potential. Being made of and moving at the speed of light is already more ridiculous than either the Magma or Ice powers used by the others.
Imu having access to a weapon that utilizes the power of the sun makes more sense, and given all the imagery surrounding the sun already (including Nika's relation to it) having direct control of said weapon would likely give the individual incredible power. Enough to conquer an enemy and rewrite history as they see fit (which is what happened between the two Kingdoms in the past).
It would also explain why he's holding on to the giant frozen hat, which is probably a symbol related to Joyboy and another method of holding on to that power (or keeping it out of the hands of others). Meanwhile, someone else learned of that symbol and created a miniature version that's been handed down through generations (Luffy's Straw Hat).
Your theory fits the Japanese legend of the Taiko Drums. Imu like the Japanese Sun Goddess locked herself in a cave (Mariejois) until a Laughing individual came and played a drum.
Once, at a time more distant than human memory, the storm god Susanowo-no-Mikoto left his home on the seas and began to ravage the land. His wild rages so upset his sister Ameterasu Ohmikami (the sun goddess) that she fled to a cave and, rolling a boulder over its entrance, vowed never to show herself again.
The world fell into darkness and devils sprang from their hiding places to roam freely across the earth in its endless night. Until, Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto, a small goddess with a face creased by age and laughter, made her way into the midst of the other gods and declared that she would coax Ameterasu from the cave. The mightier gods looked at the old woman and sneered. Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto smiled back at them, poured out a huge sake barrel, jumped on its head, and began a wild dance.
The loud, hard, frenetic pounding of her feet made a sound unlike any ever heard before. The rhythm was so lively, so infectious that soon the other gods, caught in Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto's revelry, began to dance and sing as well. Music filled the earth and the celebration became so raucous that Ameterasu Ohmikami peeked out from her cave and, seeing the joyful faces, brought her light to the earth again. Thus, Ameterasu Ohmikami's light returned to earth, Susanowo-no-Mikoto was banished, and taiko music was born.

Funfact, Ame-no-Uzume is known as Goddess of Dawn, Dance and Art because Kagura Dance and Noh Theater is believe by Shinto to be traced back to her and she has the ability to attract the attention of Sun Goddess Amaterasu through her dance that she was also called the Goddess of Dawn in the believe that if the world got dark once again, she can dance and laugh to attract the Sun Goddess to bring a new dawn to the world.

I really like that idea. I personally believe that the Gorosei are the immortal royal guard of Imu. Each being on or even above "emperor level". I mean hell the one is literally carrying a sword these aren't the average inbred celestial dragons. You could even say it's Imu's crew if you think he/she is the space pirate king.

I think the fact that Imu is completely blacked out ties very well into this theory. What is the colour black if not the colour which absorbs and holds the most light? If you have a devilfruit which gains power from and controls the sun, wouldn’t it make sense to at least be clad in complete black so you get the most use out of it? Or perhaps the fruit itself makes the user completely black to kickstart that procedure. Something to think about!!
My theory about IMU is that its a devil fruit that takes over and possesses the host - replacing them. I think Luffy's mom is the current host - this is ultimately what sparked Dragon's rebellion and likely around the time Garp formed SWORD. I think IMU plans to hop over into VIVI next as it orchestrates a second VOID century to drown out the age of pirates, or, to hit a "reset button" on an unruly era.
This sounds a fresh idea, excited to see how things turn out!

Hmmmm agreed this “Sun god” (Luffys)fruit isn’t using the sun at all , most likely just named after the famous figure of nika who just brough the “dawn” and seen as free and kind and warm like people depict the sun sometimes . Man Seeing Imus power if that was truly her , would make sense as far as the story as well , just me thinking like how strong would one have to be to literally take down joy boy and bring an end to a revolution and create an order (That stands) in this crazy world full of strong characters . @@wuggey5686 I totally agree, and unlike some other antagonists in Shonen (don't wanna spoil you potentially) I think Oda is setting this up PERFECTLY. Even though Imu was not mentioned till chapter 900+, the themes have been set up all along for Imu to have powers like this so it doesn't feel out of nowhere like other manga... Also, check my False God Nika vid if you haven't - you and I are pretty much on the same page about Nika ;)

This is a top tier theory and gives credence to my "Imu is the original Joyboy" theory, the original joyboy that we are aware of is Nika and its ephithet "Sun God" was becuz he wanted to unite all races under the sun but Nika is more of a trickster god than anything but Imu is the true Sun God and got corrupt somewhere down the line in history, excellent breakdown and theory

What if the attack was the seraphim of Doflamingo on a sky/flying Island? The real one had an attack called 16 holy bullets - it looked really similar and being a seraphim would explain the Kizaru laserbeam type of attack and the number of light beams shown...
That is a realy interesting idea and makes more sense. I don't think Imu caused that by himself, if he would be that powerful than why did the World Goverment needed the Buster Call. Imu could have ended every enemy long ago. So this "lightbomb" seems to be a new weapon. Oda probably just tricked us by showing Imu right when it happend.
I have a theory about how the eyes are tied into immortality. It started from a real life trait called Limball eyes Aka DOUBLE RING Eyes and the myth behind them correlates them to “longevity”. Also the eyes or Horus/Ra and the fact that the characters Zunesha,Imu,Miihawk all have ties to immortality. Zunesha being a thousand year elephant, Miihawk and the Immortal Dracula, Imu having a name sounding like IMmortality and being foreshadowed by Sugar. Sugar wears a crown over a hood, has an ability to erase existences and MOST IMPORTANTLY doesn’t age. I also believe Imu is part of the three eye tribe and is also foreshadowed by Pudding, another character who can control memories which would ties into the void century. There’s more to this theory as well😏.

Unfortunately you're not the first to come up with the Ra theory. But I do like your sun theory. I would suggest he may have the sun sun fruit if not the water fruit. But I think you're wrong about this one. I believe the best part however is equating the 16 rays from ims attack and the 16 rays of the Japanese sun.
I would personally believe that this weapon that Imu used to wipe that island out was the same weapon that he used to wipe out God Valley.
I believe it's an ultimate weapon created by Vegapunk. Why else would they be ready to kill him? They got the seraphim completed and an ultimate weapon. Vegapunk not needed anymore. Seraphim and pacifista use Kizaru light beams. It's very easy to believe he made a giant flying ship that fires the light beams as well.

The Japan Flag with sun rays is actually the flag of Imperial Japan, which would fit thematically with the nature of the World Government. Another thing is Lulusia could also be read as Rurusia (or Russia) which is interesting considering world events. World Government could also be an analogy of the Western World Order that has invaded, bombed and Sanctioned all countries they don’t like.
Fact check me here, but I'm fairly certain Ra also removed one of their eyes to seek out someone and when the eye came back, it was already replaced so it was put on Ra's forehead as a third eye.
I googled it, and you're correct, and wouldn't you know Ra placated his first eye by turning it into an uraeus (dangerously close to uranus), which is the snake headdress you often see in their imagery

That is the National Treasure of Mariejois that Doffy mentioned. I think Uranus is the Nika/Joyboy because Luffy Gear 5th appearance kinda looks like a cloud/sky hence Uranus means sky and Uranus is the father of giants so the giant frozen stawhat that imu possessed might be from Joyboy/Nika.
Uranus = Sky/ability to unify
Poseidon = Ocean/ability to command sea kings (to pull Noah upwards with fishman inside)

However, the implication that I got was that this power was indeed used before (in or shortly after the Void Century, likely at what is now Enies Lobby), but has not been used since until now because the power source needed to use it no longer existed, so it couldn't be used again until Vegapunk was able to create a suitable alternative in the Mother Flame. After all, if Im could wipe out an island at will like this any time he wants, then why would Buster Calls even need to exist? Why wouldn't he have used this power on Ohara when they threatened to reveal the truth of the ancient kingdom? If this is Im's own power (either natural or from a Devil Fruit), then I see now reason NOT to have used it on Ohara. If, however, this power is technological and didn't have a functional power source until the recent creation of the Mother Flame, then there is suddenly a plausible reason to rely on the Marines to destroy Ohara with a Buster Call.

why is it you think that roger didn't find pluton? he's had many ties to wano and he spent a long time with oden. also odens dad new pluton was underneath wano so the chances that oden new this too are likely high.
Shiki said that quote during the Edd War, which was 1 year before Roger met Oden, so he couldn’t have read the Alabasta glyph or been told about Pluton’s location yet! The only way he would know is if King Cobra told him or something. But I think it’s safe to say the egg was Uranus :)

Considering Imu could be a reference to Aten I believe IM has an interest in Blackbeard because they either have the mythical Pig zoan the Buta Buta No Mi Model Ammit or the cow Zoan Ushi-Ushi no mi model Ammit.

I would say imu is some1 from alabasta history. King cobra knows about him that is why he and vivi are dead or missing. Another theory could be imu is king cobra that faked his dead and blame it on sabo and kept vivi in his protection but i highly doubt it. The reason is when he looked at vivi poster is like when some1 told him that vivi is looking for marriage so he should be some1 who interested in vivi and wanted to mary her. It's not a Pluton copy. Only Tom and Franky had plans to that or at least a counter. Pluton is based on the God of the Underworld while Uranus is god of the Sky. It makes more sense to be Uranus then Pluton or a copy of it

The Raigou sphere remained dark because it was compressed Thunderclouds rather than being pure lightning. What shot these beams thus most likely was some sort of object or entity,, hence casting the shadow first before releasing that light-based attack. I also doubt that Imu's power is a superior version of Kizaru's fruit. With the 3 original Admirals being peers, I would assume their fruits are also peers, which was confirmed in Akainu vs. Aokiji. And with both Akainu and Aokiji having superior fruits to the likes of the Flame Flame fruit, which in itself is quite the top tier fruit, a fruit superior to Kizaru's would be to overpowered, especially given we haven't seen Kizaru's awakening yet. Realistically speaking, Kizaru would far outclass everyone in the world, because a kick even near the speed of light could instantly nuke countries. So since Kizaru's fruit already is heavily nerfed, what point would there be to introduce an even stronger version, which would be nerfed even more?

Your theory seems more then plausible. Imu must posess the most terrifying power that we have yet seen. Being able to see everything and to destroy a whole island within a blink of an eye is crazy, almost godlike. I hope One Piece will keep that as the maximum and will not be like Naruto at the end with completely overpowered characters.

A Prism, or a Color Fruit based Devil Fruit. Something let lets him break down "light" into "color" and effect the world around through that. Including some unusual types of Slow Light or the Colors Of Haki, or even the "color" or Darkness. if the motif carries.

First of all, it is VERY obvious that what Luffy has isn't just some regular rubber fruit.
That pure whiteness and flame cloud and whatnot isn't something a rubber can produce on it's own.
Also this fruits awakening literally effects other living organisms and give him various abilities and powers which a rubber isn't capable of as cited by ODA himself through Kaido
Yes there are paramecia fruits that effect the biological organisms but said fruits had that specific power from the get go while rubber isn't like that what-so-ever.

I mean it makes sense but in that case shouldn't light enable one to see the past as well since I don't know if you know, the things we see through light and events that we see after light reaches us are happening in past and not present. Best example would be sun itself. It takes time for light to reach our eyes and our eyes see what happened at the exact moment light reflected or left that certain object and not present.
So light is showing us the past state of something, not present. That past state could be millions of years ago or just a millisecond ago, depending on how long it took for said light to reach our eyes.
And if that's the case then what's all the fuss about? I mean wouldn't he/she already know of the location of EVERYTHING we've been searching for till now since through light, he/she would have seen what joy boy had done in void century while at that time since as you said, through light and observation, he/she can see everything so if he was living at that time in void century then he/she should be aware of all locations in real time

very well explained but don't agree with the nika fruit being just a rubber fruit, I think the "god" name is in other devil fruit names aswell pretty sure green bull has the Forrest god fruit, I think Luffy does have the sun god fruit because his hair is the color of the sun without filter " white" I think his power is more akin to being like a rubber hose man instead of a rubber man, his powers are basically like the Early days of Mikey mouse , the " sun god" because he can manipulate reality to an extent which we seen in the kaido fight. the world government wouldn't let that name exist in any book so nobody knows the real name to many fruits . imu could have similar abilities but I definitely think it's the last weapon because we learn no information about it like we did the other two would also make sense to why the ancient kingdom lost the war 800 year's ago.
