A few days late on the rent, so it's up for grabs? . That's someone's restoration. You sound kinda sketchy when you talk about that car.
I hate when fake sith wy
When you fake a barn find for views
That's what I was thinking.....
You are saying everything but!!!, it’s yours. How did you find it. You had keys to both, the unit and the car.. I think at this point you got everybody confused.
David Wiley RC’s I was just going to post the same thing !
This was a seriously-confusing video.
True
Probably his, and he put it away for awhile
its one of his old projects its not a barn find its his car thats been in storage and hes finally moving it hell confess
Sniff, sniff... this "barn find" kinda smells like BS...
No doubt not even 5 minutes into it & that engine bay looks waaaaay to nice & he said the battery is cooked it looks brand spankin new so do the terminals😂😂 bs all the way
Johnny Appleseed I don’t see what’s so hard to believe. Maybe some dude was storing it in the unit and had tools and was tinkering with it. Put a brand new battery in it and then it just sat there. Battery terminals don’t corrode from just sitting. Not hard to believe. Keys could have just been left on the shelf near the tool box.
Battery terminals do corrode from just sitting. Happens to my mower every winter. And my truck.
Jordan aye man if you want to be gullible by all means have at it👌
Bs all the way
I like how he says its the general lee car but the dukes of hazzard car is a 69 charger not a 72
He sure knows nothing about Mopars .
Can see his truck a ford
Not as bad as the people that talk to my father, owner of a ‘70 Roadrunner, about his General Lee 😂
Is it even considered a "barn find" if its in a storage unit & already 80% restored? Maybe I should post video's of my "barn finds" aka, my cars in my garage or backyard lol....
not much of a barn, i agree.
Battery had juice in it? Sounds like you knew some history on it? So confused. What's up?
That's NOT just a 72 Charger 440. THAT my friend is a 72 Charger RALLEY 440. It's a pretty rare car. There were under 2000 built. It replaced the RT for 72 and has parts that are unique to the 72 Ralley, such as the doors. The tail lights and bezels were shared with the 71 RT and are hard to find as well. From what I can see, this car is a definite keeper. Also unique to it were the chin spoiler, trunk wing, exhaust tips, grille, instrument cluster and interior trim.
Bruh this is like me going into my garage at home and saying my 1971 LTD is a barn find.
Ikr
I found a 1965 GMC in my garage this morning. What a coincidence.
thats awsome! i have a 70 ltd
My grandpa has a 1969 LTD
Man I just found a barn find sitting in my driveway a 1973 camaro😂🤣
The camera angle was amazing when you pulled it out of the unit. WOW!
Corbeau seat? That cant be old
like 40 years ago
I wonder if he found the title in the dash with his name on it too ?.
I do't understand, is it yours ?
Kris.Ivanovv I was going to ask the same thing
That is a very lucky barn find, even found with a current license plate that you were able to test drive it.
this car was on ebay 1-31-20...for 19k
That car didn't need starting fluid, it could be started without it
Wow
Made me cringe kinda an idiot
Now THAT is a car!!! Love em!!!!
So who is the actual owner. This couldn't have been sitting for more than a year.
I'm a huge Mopar fan I love these old Chargers but the General Lee what a 68 through 70 Charger that's okay bro I still love it but ‼🇺🇸
I said it because it was orange not because of the year lol
@@Junkyard_Dave👌 Is it yours ! Could you elaborate on the find story please ?
You think swapping the transmission with something newer/modern could help run better?
Im gonna assume the primer has been sanded too smooth to the point the paint & sealer has nothing to bite too hence the flaking
More likely it's a paint reaction to the primer or never primed over the anti rust coating on the new sheetmetal .
So many questions- but you don,t feel to answer? For what do you need subcriber when you don,t tell them the most importend things? Sad.
love that charger! got an orange 72 440 charger myself so im really digging it!!!!!
Didn’t hear in video the plans. Is it your car. Or s flip. Or s buddies ?
Go back to cooking or making flower arrangements. Sounds like that would be more up your alley
Not a car guy, he knows just enough to be dangerous
Definitely not a barn find 🎣
Hood pins are easy to use you push on the hood with one hand and pull the pin with the other they are real simple to use
I pulled a 1971 Buick GS stage one. It sat for 40 years it is the first big project on a UA-cam channel. How I got one of my dream car as far back as I can remember, my grandfather’s neighbor had a car under a tarp. One day about 13 years ago, a storm went through and blew the tarp off, revealing a red 1971 Buick GS Stage One. We started talking, and he told me the story of the old girl, and I fell in love with it. He had a price that I couldn’t afford, but I coveted it ever since. I have even dreamed about owning and driving it. Years passed, and with college and work, and now working on my UA-cam channel LunarOutlaw’s Garage, volunteering as the vice president of the local Kiwanis, and having 7 month old twins, lost contact with Joe. However, I never stopped thinking about that unobtainable red Buick. I recently started doing interviews of people with personal connections to their cars for my channel, and I figured it would be phenomenal to document this car and the man that saved it from the scrapyard. So I stopped by to interview Joe, and learned that unfortunately he passed away shortly before the twins were born. The car has sat, forgotten about by everyone else. Now it it’s just a matter of getting it all back together.
Keep up the great content man
The brakes are sketchy because with a big cam in these big blocks the vacuum goes away and a vacuum booster can would help out considerably!! Also a stall converter and lower gearing would wake that sucker up
Sell it to Cleetus he is looking for one of these
cleetus is looking for a 69/70 super bird or daytona not a 72 charger
I’d be pissed if someone took my car... is it yours??? What the heck???
i call b.s. you found this car the tool box the work bench ect , no talk about the great deal you got ,
An fyi... The General Lee (sometimes referred to as simply "the General") is a 1969 Dodge Charger
Dude! tell the truth man
Could you be any more vague on the story behind this junk? This body style is so ugly even that paint doesn't want to stick around.
One of the best-looking chargers there was charges were never a four door car I had a 69 440 and I had a 74 with a 400 in it dumbest thing ever did was traded for a Ford Torino my charges both look better and ran better then that's stupid-looking 73 Ford Torino
5:32 or someone escape from inside looks more
10 bucks for half a tank? Cries in dutch gas prices
😂
Dutch? Pfff, try norwegian
Leofred lol i know right 50 euros like 60+ dollars is half a tank over here....
@@GillioCameron well look at it this way that tank isnt that big
Try the UK - 10 pounds of petrol wouldn't even register on the gauge.
If it had 500 hp it would run 11.70's-12 flat in the 1/4 mile in street trim with 3.23 gears!
That's what my 72 Charger Rallye did! My 72 Charger has a 400 big block in it and ran mid - high 12.60's with 430 hp(was a 451 stroker that was mild, pump gas daily driver in the 1990s)... ..I had about 4 engines in it over the years..
I have a 1968 Charger RT 440 that runs low 10's with 727 auto and 3.23 gears car looks and restored to showroom condition, looks stock..Engine is a stroker 535c.i...
I've got a 72 charger too. I put a jet engine in mine last spring, and the chicks really dig me.
Who would start a car sitting that long and not replace the gas or bypass! Can’t believe this story is legit
im so confused..
Put a french car in a storage unit for half time that this Dodge spent here, and you will find a frog skeleton.
I about shit myself when I saw that snake Lmao😂
Yo Dave, not sure if it’s the same where you live but in Cali even though the air machines ask for the $1.50 the station has to give you free air. You are supposed to makes a purchase first but I just walk in and say “hit the air man” and they always do. I see people paying but it’s the law to provide free air and I mean 98% of the time I do make a purchase anyway.
No context equals a dodgy (see what I did there?) video!
Alot of these fake barn finds around. Just because it's in the storage unit doesn't mean he can keep it. I like the powdered dust they put on the cars.
Not exactly what I’d consider a typical barn find. The engine looks almost brand new. If it was a barn find it wasn’t found by you and has had plenty of work done since.
It doesn't seem like a barn find to me
Did he just say general lee? Lmao
So many commercial interruptions almost not enjoyable video to watch.
Your Skins are doo doo get a VPN. Some countries don’t have commercials on YT...or not near as many.
That's a truly amazing car just one year younger then me lol, for real tho, this is a superb find especially in this condition, Liked n full view
Great fine, if true! Why can’t others gets lucky like this guy. Hmm 🤔 something fishy? But , I am an old freak Car Classic buyer.
Dave I hope you bought the Charger! It will make a pretty cool project that you can drive and enjoy while you improve it! I would enjoy seeing a series of videos making this car be all that it has the potential to be!
Looks like a 1972 Rally Charger. If it is a factory 440 Magnum car it is very rare, check the vin see if it is a U code... If I recall correctly only 785 were made.
Seriously lol is it your car or not ? ? ? The whole time I'm sitting here thinking " Just Effing tell us " is it your car 🤔 LOL I'm like everyone one else on here wondering 😂
Holy storage wars find of the year Junkyard Dave! Now we just need context of how this came to be!
(Cant wait for the next video😎)
It looks like it didn't stayed there for long time. It's neat! Especially the engine bay.
BS galore. Wrong fuses and not wondering why. Battery looked new. The engine bay was way too clean. The valve covers alone say recent. That car has not been "sitting" very long.
Lack of brains is the only kind of people who sprays starting fluid into a gas motor. They don't use it when they build the car at the factory or any shop that does a rebuild .
Kinda clean to say no ones been in that unit for a long time don’t you think......
That is not gas on the intake........GAS DOES AVAPURATE QUICK......OR DRY UP QUICK.
I love your reaction to the fake snake.
Easy on the starter there fella
Nice car Dave. I agree with the comments need more info. It's good to see a JYD video.
I started reading everybody's comments so I think I don't have one because they are ask the same question I have don't think I will subscribe something does smell after nine year still had charge in the battery. Didn't tell how you found it. Nothing makes since.
I would love to have that car I love old school
garage find would be accurate title
Opening the door he said "its not been seen in quite some time" but driving to the storage unit he described perfectly even the flat tires, he knew already it was a 72 and a 440, this was completely staged
Oil on the valley pan is probably from the intake bolts.Supposed to put pipe thread sealer on the threads to prevent that.
Engine does sound quite sluggish.Carb probably needs work.My '71 440 snaps up to 6500 crisply on hard throttle "blips".I use the Carter Thermoquad,my favorite carb and super tuneable,if you know how to massage it.I did a T-Q for a dude with a 340 Duster, and he said he was smoking Mustangs off the line and on top end at "back road drags" he attended.
It's call gas to your carburetor not many automatic fuel pumps in those days!!!🤠
That’s no barn find, no one would ever leave a car like that in a unit with all the new parts a custom parts even had power in battery , can you smell that BS your spouting. Old cars are far far better than any new cars simple basic All can be repaired on road side with little to no parts or tool and you don’t need to plug a stupid computer in to it to tell you what you already knew ( more money to spend ).
The engine is miss firing. If it's tuned up and running correctly it should melt the tires off it.
Is this charger yours ?
Car guy tv yeah, I'm wondering the backstory on this, kinda out of nowhere
@@wCONRADclark yeah its just a random storage unit with no backstory , he will pro clear it up though.
Millennials always seem so confused.Says the word "like" and "really" too much. 72 is not a rare charger or even a muscle car. Whoever did the paint didn't do very good and it shows
Dumbass kept his foot on the gas flooding the engine.
No it's not as rare as other muscle cars, I agree with that. But the 72 Dodge charger is a muscle car. I definitely think he shouldnt have kept hitting the gas over and over, if it's been sitting for so long it's smart to not hit the gas like that. The paint color is gorgeous but yes they did a shitty job because it was popping up every where.
Remember lots of people rebuilt the engines wrong, wrong cam, wrong heads, wrong carb etc..etc...
I raced a lot in the 1990's and there were mean cammed up cars that sounded wicked but couldnt beat my never rebuilt, stock cam, stock head, stock 383 Super Bee that had only non factory parts were headers, intake and a 800 holley it ran 12.83@107 mph...7272 auto and 8 3/4 with 3.55 gears..It ran street tires my 60 foot want great as it spun a lot(like they do)..
01trsmar wow, no one gives a shit about your old cars.
Stop comparing it to a new car! It's a classic... if you want a new car go buy one and sell this one to a real enthusiast... seems like you are sooo disappointed that it's not a hell cat "barn find"... oh and fyi "fully built" is NOT a barn find in a storage unit...
Nice car for sure 💯, most storage units won't let you store a vehicle with gas in it, kinda weird but, yeah seems like you need to go through the fuel system, put a fuel pressure regulator on it, plugs, etc. But very cool Mopar 💯 for sure 💯. What was the price on that lot/ storage unit¿?? Thanks brother
Dave you want to know what is in most of those storage lockers it is most likely early American garage sale garbage Iam a storage manager
this Beauty is absolutely mint must be worth a fortune
hey this car looks to new to be a barn fine
Looking through the camera the doors are a different color orange than the quarters are. Great find.
Yes, very confused. What is the story on it. Did you buy the unit and find it or have you had it sitting for a while ?
Very nice find.
the difference in the engines power could be the way they where rated net horsepower Vs gross horsepower.
Push down the hood in front of the hood pins and they wont be that hard to pull the pin out..Tip.
Use non ethanol fuel and add octane booster. Ethanol fuel will damage the Holley carb.
Drivin that with out insurance ! Dont be that guy !
Good to let it crank without starting anyway so to get some oil pumping through its veins since dry for sometime. Car probably isn't geared right. That will make it feel slow as well.
In another video which you can find in the comments below shows some punk ass ricers putting this car together 5 years ago .it's funny to watch what they are doing as they really are out of their element pertaining to American muscle cars.
Ooh man what a freaking cool day, MOPAR big block mmmm nice
He just started a car that’s been setting along time no tag no insurance did you check the oil or coolant. Something not right here not sure
I feel like he should of pulled out a timing light before he took it for a drive lol
Imagine the hood fell on him when he said "not bad"
A little to fake and set up. The place is spotless . Turned off after 3 minutes.
Since when is a Storage Unit a Barn?
U about the luckiest dude on earth nice car
With fresh gas, a full tune up with a carb clean and adjustment, and timing set it'll probably dummy the Magnum. Can't really compair them like that.
If you don't know what a barn find means and you don't know what year general Lee is. Stop working on cars cause you don't know what your talking about
Paint looks good just some paint lifting off the door he said it might need a repaint, dude half is black wtf!!!!!! Definitely click bait. Wrong title for the vid next time tell the truth.
From what I can tell he bought it. Name on packages show previous owner that just sold on eBay a few weeks ago. Was gor sale in his town. Y'all need to stop doubting our brother here. I don't know how he does it but he must be doing something right.
u storing ur charger for the winter is not a barn find ur bs
