    Hello there,
First of all, I wanted to thank you for your UA-cam channel, I never would have thought I would binge watch repair videos about strollers. So thanks for that!
I was wondering if you would help me with a problem I have with my stroller?
I own a second hand bugaboo cameleon 1st gen (production date feb 2007) that was used for one child before mine for approximately 2,5 years and then It was kept clean and safe in its bag in a cellar for 8 years.
I’ve been using it for almost 8 months until the chassis broke; the handle wasn’t staying in place, especially on the right side and I couldn’t fold the chassis anymore.
Thanks to the videos on your UA-cam channel and your instructions, I managed to take apart the chassis and take a look at the central locking mechanism and I found out that the silver bits were broken and one plastic part on the chassis was in dust. I remember you said in a video that when the plastic on the chassis is broken, there is nothing that can be done and the chassis is no good anymore.
Since 1st gen bugaboo cameleon new products don’t exist anymore, I was thinking about buying another second hand bugaboo cameleon 1 chassis or a new bugaboo cameleon 3 chassis. But I have the impression that the seat from the cameleon 1 is not compatible with the chassis from the cameleon 3.
    I wonder if it’s true?
Can you please help me sort it out; I have a whole bugaboo cameleon stroller + britax romer car seat + adapters for the said car sit… and I don’t know if has any use without the right chassis ! Maybe I should be looking for another model and give away the good parts that are left?
Thanks for reading this long message, have a nice day and stay safe
    Polina

Hi, glad you like our videos (the thought of someone binge-watching my repair videos made my day :) ) The seat and adapters are completely transferable, however, if you can get a cameleon 1 chassis in good condition, I would recomend it over the Cameleon 3 chassis as the problems with the central locking mechanism have gotten progressively worse with each generation, rather than better, and in addition you will be left with alot of compatible replacement parts from your broken chassis, if something else goes wrong. And it will probably be cheaper :)

@@BarnevognverkstedNo hey there, so I followed your advice and was lucky to find a second hand frog/cameleon chassis in excellent condition for 50€. Thanks a lot for your reply and advice, I'm really glad I discovered your channel. Best regards !

Hi - thanks for the video! I've been caring for our cameleon for a while now, and your information has been helpful.
Finally I've had to crack open the locking mechanism, and I discovered that the plastic between the notch for the S-hook and the space for the cable has snapped off. This is in the handle side of the housing. Is it possible to source a replacement part for just that plastic part? Where do you generally look for parts?
I've had a look on ebay and found this, but it's pretty expensive and contains the disk and S-hooks which I don't need.

The smaller elements can be purchased on shapeways, but unfortunately for those larger parts, you pretty much have to buy a second used cameleon and scavenge the parts. You could try contacting the bugaboorepairguy on facebook though, and see if he has a source :)

@@BarnevognverkstedNo Thanks very much for the reply.
It's usable with just one of the S-hooks engaging, and I think we'll only need a stroller for a few more months, so maybe it'll just be ok!

I know this is an old video, but I hope you still receive this comment. I have a question.
Why would my seat not be locking onto my frame?
    Back story.....
I have both a cameleon 1 & 3. I'm Franken-strollering them. The 1s seat easily, it seems, switched from the 1s frame to the 3s frame and locked into place. No issues. When I try the same thing but opposite (3's seat frame into 1s frame), it doesn't lock into place. 1s frame also seems to not lock in place in general before attempting to put the seat on. When I switch 1s seat back to 1s frame, no issues, even though the frame still isn't locked into place. Are the clips not compatible? Is something stuck? Are the seats with clips not interchangeable? If they aren't, what's a work around for this? 1s seat frame is on better condition and 3s frame is better overall, so I'd like to have these work together and they do. The problem is that 3s seat frame doesn't seem to work with 1s frame.
