I like this figure and I already have it. I'm a big fan of figures with lots of accessories. However, I agree with the things you pointed out that make this figure less than ideal. But overall, I am satisfied with it.
Great review as always Justin!!! HT should be ashamed for putting so little love into this figure. The sculpting is unforgivable in a figure that has this price!!! Thanks and regards from Argentina!!
@@miraclethehousekid9339 a) one should not have to do that on a 300 dollar figure from a company that is supposed to be the top of the line when it comes to realistic looking figures, and b) it doesn’t change the fact it’s re-use of an old headsculpt that’s let’s be honest, is far beyond the quality one expect from modern figures. Hell, Neca did 10 times better on a 7 inch 35 dollar figure. It’s shameful really.
I’m not a big fan of the head sculpt, but I could see why people like it. It looks more like the 2015 doc than the 1985 doc and the hair is also way to flat. The 1955 doc head has a spot on likeness to Christopher Lloyd and I really wish this figure did the same. I do think Neca really hit it out of the park with their doc head.
@5:41 The antenna on my remote control didn’t last 10 minutes out of the box. I put it in the 1:6 Delorean and one of the wing doors fell impacting the antenna, breaking in half just like that. Shame they didn’t make that thing out of metal or something more durable.
I just received mine but I haven’t opened it yet. Sad that the case of plutonium is cardboard. Come on Hot Toys! All those talented artist and sculptors and no one said hey, we should cover the holes above his ear. I personally would have liked a second head sculpt included. Hey Justin if you find a custom head sculpt artist that is doing a Doc Brown please let us know.
Compared to some of the recent Star Wars and Marvel releases from Hot Toys, this figure looks like a 3rd party figure. Not on par with what I would expect from this company. When Doc is with the Delorean, he looks a bit better. Thanks for the review Justin.
I really like this Doc Brown. I did order a 3rd party head that looks more like Christopher Lloyd. Shame to HT for the head and cheap plutonium case. It's PLUTONIUM! IT NEEDS A SECURE CONTAINER!!! 😅
I feel like the head sculpt is very wrong. I love BTTF trilogy and I saw it a million times in all the versions. And this does not do justice to mr Lloyd and does not look like him. Take a look at some of the figures that look so close to the original that sometimes you can't tell if this is an actor or a figure. This is obviously not one of them. And this is a real bummer since I would reeeeeally love to have Doc from Hot Toys on my shelf. Just not this one. The same goes to Marty but Doc is even worse in terms of head sculpt similarity to the original. I'll wait till v2 comes out... Hopefully. Thanks for the review anyways! Great content as always!
Hey justin, my 8-year old brother is your biggest fan and quotes you daily😁 he’s a big Top Gun fan and wonders if your doing a review for the red man toys Top Tom figure? I personally love your reviews 🤓 keep up the good work!!!
Nah, HT definitely deserves criticism. For the price, cardboard plutonium box, reused headsculpt where they didnt bother to at least cover the shades holes, 2 hands, i swear hot toys really cheaped out the last few years
I agree. For the price point it’s definitely unacceptable that he gets the exact same headsculpt, especially after having given Marty a completely new headsculpt. Also, one of the things I always hate on BTTF figures: why do they always have these shocked ‘I crapped my pants’ expressions? These characters have a lot of range, they smile, they’re serious, they’re angry or confused, but all these companies t-do is give them the same shocked expression. At least Neca did some effort in varying up the facial expression to great effect and I’ll even argue their Doc looks a lot more like Christopher Lloyd than the Hot Toys one, and that’s a 7 inch figure.
@@jarosbodytko6462 well i womt expect HT to give 2 headsculpts to each figure, but every once in a while they should, or maybe it should be the norm for the high price, or maybe not cheap out on the number of hands. Now, i dont collect HT, but i have been very interrsted in this phenomenon for about 8 years and what i noticed is the DX line is pretty much just star wars, besides the dx 19 batman and the newly announced black adam, which is also annoying because it has "delixe" version which is annoying because a dx shouldnt have an additional version, and the dx19 is just a nolan batman reissue more or less. DX kinda lost its significance.
@@tonileo9849 yeah, I think DX is pretty much only used for the figures with moving eyes so in that way, yeah the reissue Batman is still DX. But I,understand what you’re saying.
I will give this hottoys to Christopher Lloyd to sign on this Friday, if you were me, where part will you let him to sign on this figure, the box outside? stand? 😃
Here’s a question about the toys wonderland website? Why can’t I access my shopping cart? I placed two orders there and I want to pay them but I can’t proceed to my shopping cart.I’ve ordered from them in the past and didn’t have that issue then.
Do you think you’ll review more invincible figures? Also do you ever think you’ll do a review again on the Arkham hot toy figures? @@JustinsCollection Justin, I love you man, and I don’t wanna be that guy, but that is probably the most arrogant answer you can give dude. I’m certain everybody here works their asses off, but most people are lucky if they can even afford 2-3 Hot Toys in a year, and maybe not even that. This is a good way to make a big part of your fan base feel pretty small, which is a shame because otherwise your channel is top notch.
Hot Toys was so ashamed of the head sculpt so badly that they didn't put a photo of the figure outside of the box :D :D Hahaha. I'm sorry Justin but it's not Doc Brown. I suggest you watch the movie again ;)
@@JustinsCollection Please compare with NECA's Doc Brown head sculpt. Then you can see the real difference. Otherwise you really look like a Hot Toys fanboy
I honestly think a bigger issue for me is the 'look' of the suit... was expecting a kind of sheen as if it was resembling the rubber look as in the film.
For toys releases of late have been shocking. Quality well under par, not made with love and released with many obvious issues they're aware of. Hot toys at this time, is NOT a premium collectible company / product. Touchwood we have many amazing companies out there, that will have my money and I've distance myself from them of recent times and will continue to do so. Its turning into a bad company (product, bad comms, not transparent like others and an awful distributor in sideshow - international customers/ shops will get that part)
Sometimes folks get so used to seeing figures that blow everything else away that they forget these are 1/6 toys after all. And if you take a step back and look at this guy or the other 'failures' again and compare them to other toy makers work then they start to look not so awful.
The head sculpt actually ruins the figure. It’s the wrong expression and the hair just looks wrong. Shame. Such a shame. Hot toys do such lovely stuff that when they do things like this it just stands out so much
