This is incredible! I have many fond memories from my childhood with my parents at Casa Bonita, and seeing it renovated by people (creators of South Park) who are from the area and also have fond memories of this place is amazing. Right off the bat I can tell they kept a lot of the original layout and experience of going to Casa Bonita, while having fully updated everything, and adding elements that elevate the experience. They fully renovated the kitchen and menu, and it shows. The food looks MUCH more appetizing than what they were serving ten years ago.
When I was 10, I assumed South Park was just making this place up. Much respect to Trey and Matt for restoring it but only sticking in a few things from South Park and respecting the original theme of the place.
My family moved to Lakewood in 1973 when I was 8 years old. I remember seeing Casa Bonita being built, and went there many times as a kid. I ADORE Trey Parker, and Casa Bonita is my happy place now! I worked there for 4 days in May 2023, right before the re-opening, and I got to meet Trey and Matt! I've visited twice since they re-opened, and I'm going again next month. Nice video! I used to live in CO before moving to IN. My family went there for birthdays (8 kids in the family). Best memories, along with White Fence Rach and the peacocks. I am DEFINITELY traveling back to CO with my wife and kids so they can experience it. We used to take the honey bottle and fill the sopaipillas the brim. Gosh dang, what memories. In the 1970's I was in the Air Force and stationed at Lowry AFB (before it was torn down). We watched as Casa Bonita was being built and wondered what that BIG PINK place was. We went in after it was first opened, and it was very popular. It was "cafeteria style", and the food was good. We really were impressed with the cliff divers. Years later around 2024 my spouse and I went back when we were out in Denver on a trip, and it was fine, but no cliff divers. It was no longer cafeteria style, but they had wait staff. It is good to hear that it has been renovated and opened again - with the cliff divers! I hope it does well. It should since it has been on South Park.
Just had the incredibly fortunate chance to go in May and it truly is a piece of a themepark in a strip mall. Like you said, they even have the backside of water! Such a wonderful, special place. Glad you were able to get there!

I am 60 y/o and we used to go to the one in Little Rock all the time but my parents also took us to Denver and I believe it was Oklahoma City or Tulsa as well. Denver was the BEST! I really would love to go here for my 61 Birthday in December and take my Grand Baby's ❤🎉🎉🎉

The building for Casa Bonita is still there in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I did get to eat there before it closed, The food was okay, nothing fancy, refried beans , rice, lettuce tomato like salad, the dining area looks like caves, and they had the flags to raise at the table for more service! They need to reopen it! Wouldn't cost as much as the place in Denver!

The closest thing we have to at Casa Bonita is Panchos Mexican buffet, which there is still one left in Houston Texas. The Mexican food there is pretty good.
We had this in salt Lake city about 15 yrs ago. Called the Mayan. The food was bad. It lasted 4 yrs then it changed the new to the rain forest. No more divers. Then it went away.
Looks like it's not so much a restaurant as it is a themed attraction where food is included in the price of admission. The food itself will never be the best under those circumstances, but that's not really why you're there anyway.
wow... I worked at the Oklahoma City Casa bonitia as a freshman in college 40 years ago. WE didn't have near the appeal of Denvers but it was always packed out. I still rememember one family of diners that insisted I keep the 5 dollar tip and not put it in the tip jar.

Food is way overpriced, but the renovations are great. I'm glad Parker and Stone saved it. Too many quirky themed restaurants from the 70s and 80s have long since died. The few that remain must be preserved!

they really need to change the plating everything looks like such small portions but not in a good way it looks like slop slapped together quick and that is what you never want as a chef.

We regularly visited Casa Bonita when we lived in Denver in the early '80s. The kids were 12 and 8 years old. I miss it, we had so much fun.

Adults dinner is $40. Kids dinner is $25. The rest depends on how much you spend on arcade, adult beverages and souvenirs.
