Hello Elizabeth, thanks for the video and previous tips, I am not on the SOS electrolytes, I have changed my gels as well and starting to feel my normal energy levels come back. Thanks for your continued videos, support and advice, I hope you are having a good season with your races.
(coach Elizabeth here) - so glad to hear you're feeling the energy levels come back. You (and runners like you) are the reason I do these videos. It means the world that you watch and that they are helpful.
@@TheRunExperience Well it's not just the videos that inspire me in my running it's also these interactions and the knowledge that you are willing to share, I'm so grateful for that.
I'm no expert, but just finished a spartan race while 19h fasted (13km/8miles, 26 obstacles, 2h), and it was one of my best performance. If I had carbs before the race my guess is I would be ~2kg heavier due to water retention, this is just my guess. But as you said this is highly individual and I don't advice this to anyone to try it without properly training with it first.
I have the Pgh full marathon this weekend. I always tend to over stock my hydration belt and find at the end, I’ve touched like nothing. Main thing in my belt is a battery backup and my back up pair of aftershokz Haha
The Run Experience Now Coach Elizabeth I wouldn’t say that at all. Far from it. A big tri athlete like yourself and all this nutritional information 👊 😘
I'm no expert, and have no connection to the producers of this video, but I assume you are talking about runners who use the Keto diet or something similar? The research I've read shows that your body requires about 20% more oxygen to burn fat than carbohydrates for energy. drbubbs.com/blog/2018/2/keto-diet-running-economy-the-forgotten-factor
That is probably the most general and non-informative piece I've seen as of yet. Just a couple of thrown in promo spots for supplements, 'everyone is different' and 'drink water folks' advice.
Hey Trevor- we always inform viewers when one of our videos contains sponsored content, but the product mentions in this video were just a case of us sharing what we use and love!
Thanks for the advice.

Tailwind?
in addition to improving your body's efficiency at fat oxidation during training... using gels all the time would be so expensive!!!
(coach Elizabeth here) - TRUTH! And its so easy to make your own or find alternatives (baby food for example).
i think you guys forgot to drop the nutrition guide link into the description
