This is like a 'trials' event for the CS to qualify for the round of 64. Hers is rule 2.09(i) which is the short version. "Trialists are those Surfers whose current seeding status fall outside of the seeded Surfers allowed for the proposed size of the QS/Challenger Series Event in Rule 2." To read more you can find the WSL rulebook at the bottom of the WSL home page. It also helps if you can't sleep at night. Just read a few rules and zzzzzz. Lol
An observation on the ladies, you mention Saĺly relevancy like Tyler they are still surfing really, really well but the younger girls are only making tight heats because they converting risky section turns into makes rather through mediocre wave section than relying on only picking great waves. Jack only out surfed John through better wave choice, had John not taken that insider he would have got that final set and possibly improved his total. Still Margies was great, the cut adds another layer off drama even though I hate it, it allows those to requality without doing two tours. Other highlight is Kiapo kept out of the booth and listening to the Aussies trio plus Flick commentary.

For me the Flic-Joe combo has gone far beyond any previous commontary low points. Joes lilting tones and Flics SO ABSOLUTELY catchphrases in every passage are insufferable. The new guy Waxer was good.
