- Video #223 - A sleeper class journey from Chamarajanagar to Mysuru Jn by the 16219 Chamrajanagar - Mysuru Express. This was a very short journey - one that didn't need a sleeper class ticket. I purchased a sleeper class ticket just to ensure I could record peacefully, and also find some space to sit!
Chamarajanagar is a town in Karnataka - located close to the Karnataka-Tamilnadu border. This town is named after the old king of Mysuru, Chamaraja Wodeyar. The train operates from Chamarajanagar to Mysuru via Nanjangud.
A new railway line is proposed from Nilambur Road in Kerala to Nanjangud, cutting through the western ghats - this railway route would open an all new connection from Kerala to Karnataka, and reduce the distance to Mysuru from Southern Kerala by close to 300kms!

Chamrajpuram was selected because it is in the middle of the city so people can easily travel, meanwhile ashokpuram was quite away from main city so this is the reason😊 And so much crowd for train because this is the only train which goes to Tirupati,VENKATESHWARA TEMPLE .

OPP Rake is sent to chamarajanagara - Mysuru from mysuru it takes as Mysuru -talaguppa express... via bengaluru.(railways creates lot of confusions) but any how if we rembember train name and nos it will help

An extension to Mettupalayam would have increased the connectivity to Palakkad to Mysore/ Bangalore. Objection is from the environmental agencies. There are technical solutions to avoid the destruction of forest land on the Mysore/ Coimbatore border. But who is willing to listento the experts
The Nanjangud Nilambur road is a better proposal than The Mettupalayam proposal

Nanjangud: I always thought that this little river town was model for R.K. Lamanan's fictional "Malgudi" but it seems north Karnataka's Arasalu has captured that flag...

It's a special train due to Sabarimala crowd. A day train as a regular service is unlikely on that route.

Hi Binai Sankar sir !! I'm sorry but I really want to mention. You talk about Nanjangud - Nilambur line and it's benefits. Firstly, I do like your vlogs, but I would absolutely disagree with your views on Nilambur line. It really does destroy our Bandipur & Nagarahole forests filled with flora & fauna. In the name of conserving our forests & wildlife WE ARE AGAINST THE PROPOSAL !! Hope you do understand sir ...
Except for politically motivated objections. Even developed countries employ methods to build infrastructure in ecologically sensitive regions - they need to be employed here. The very fact that the objection is only to building a line from Kerala to nanjangud and not for the proposed Ankola Dharwad line shows double standards. Please do a little bit of literature survey.
