    I will never forget Vriddhachalam Jn station. During my NGP to MDU trip in Anuvrat Express, the lunch at Villupuram Jn was not delivered and I got a superb curd rice at Vriddhachalam Jn. I was damn hungry too . One of the best curd rice I had ...

    From what I remember, that tomato soup is a specialty of the Vaigai and Pallavan routes; at least, it used to be so in the 80s. As a child, I was a regular on the Vaigai Express route and would really look forward to the hot soup served around 6pm near Tiruchi :-) Thanks for the video and the nostalgia!

    10:31 Thenpennai river bridge. (Thenpennai is one river u would have crossed umpteen times without realising - on ur Bengaluru - kerala trips). First after those motels where buses stop near kuruparapalli (before Krishnagiri),and then near kaveripatnam soon after Krishnagiri towards dharmapuri. The river gets wider with tributeries althrough

    14:51 , If Inside Chord line , Definitely Madurai Vizhuppuram Intercity Express..
    Most Peaceful train inside chord ( fully empty on weekdays , full patronage on weekends , Mukurtha days, Festivals )
    VM MDU will be Terribly crowded

    The journey is fantastic as always but as you said in this video that flat wheel damage rails so why don't they change the flat wheel.. I just gotta know that the rail gets damaged due to a flat wheel

    About LHB wheels and their ubiquitous flat-spots: What I've heard is this - they are disc-brakes but lack ABS, so many wheels frequently lock up during braking, leading to the formation of a flat spot that grinds against the rails while being locked. ICF wheels don't tend to lock up as often (presumably because their rim-brakes aren't powerful enough to completely lock them up as part of regular braking effort).
    I wonder how much of this can be solved by calibrating brake pressure better for LHB rakes vs. ICF rakes.

    First bridge was Gedilam River which drains into Bay of Bengal at Cuddalore.
    Second indeed was Then Pennai which drains into the sea between Pondy and Cuddalore.
    The third bridge after Villupuram was either Varaga or Gingee river.

    Parangimalai means white people’s hillock. Parangi is a sort of Tamil translation for Pumpkin. White people were called Parangi as their skin looked like pumpkin’s skin.

    9:25 Geddilam bridge. I always felt the Geddilam bridge on the mainline was the longest in this part of the state (as a kid). Probably the riverbed gets wider towards the east. The Geddilam bridge on the mainline was the typical zigzag girder bridge in MG days. I don't remember it's structure in the chord line

    Sir is there any problem if trains run on flat wheel for long? Like chances of derailment

    • @Platform7byBinaiSankar
      @Platform7byBinaiSankar  10 місяців тому +2

      Increases damage to the rail. The railways has acceptable limits for flat wheels - all wheels undergo periodical inspection and when found unfit, they are ground/replaced
