- If there was any time where my channel has reached a point where you can tell I don't even know what I'm even doing anymore and I'm just making stuff up as I go along, this is now the perfect moment. Since a lot of you enjoyed the video where I put "Break Through It All" over Need For Speed Hot Pursuit gameplay, thought I'd try out another song from Sonic Frontiers over Split/Second Velocity, since it was mentioned in the comments. Split/Second deserved more... and we were robbed of a sequel...
As for the video, I actually didn't knew what to upload... I initially wanted to put my blind playthrough of Hi-Fi Rush but decided to scrap it since I wasn't proud of the footage, as well as being unmotivated to make content in the week or so break between my last upload. So sorry in advance. I hope you'll like this, even though I consider all the previous Sonic Frontiers mashups I did flukes that anyone can do... no seriously, those were dumb luck.
Race featured here is the "Canyon" race that is selectable via Freeplay. Car used is the Cobretti Slipstream, which doesn't have the fastest top speed or acceleration but has amazing drifting and it kinda looks like a "Sonic" car lol. AI set to Hard. Footage was spliced in certain parts, mainly the last lap.
Music used: Sonic Frontiers OST - Undefeatable feat. Kellin Quinn (Giganto Boss Theme)
• Undefeatable (feat. Ke...
Anyways, please enjoy the video. :)

You can buy Split/Second on Steam for those who like what they see
store.steampowered.com/app/297860/SplitSecond/
Also, regarding the car's engine sound being quiet in relation to the other SFX. I had SFX volume set to max, but there isn't a slider for the engine sounds. Maybe I should've lowered the SFX volume since the engine sounds are at a constant volume no matter wbat.
So happy it's still available to buy.
unfortunately the multiplayer is disabled but it's still a great game, do you think you could do Expressway or Airport Terminal with Breaking Through It All
The engine sounds and the game's soundtrack are noticeably lower volume and quality compared to the console version of the game. It does have a fix, but it doesn't work in conjunction with the 60FPS patch the community made.
@@Flugel971 It actually runs at 35 FPS locked on PC and you can't increase it since physics are tied to the FPS.
split/second is one of the most underrated racing games ever. Although the game keeps corrupting my save now and then, I still like it.
2:10 *Perfect timing!*
Yes and the end
lit hasta tu perfil esta 😨
_"Been down this road before!!"_ Man this song reeally fits well. 😆
I agree!
Hey, how do you make that Text look like this?
@@Fabri_Z.0.6 You would use this underline " _ " on each side of the word. and as for Bold letters, you use the star " * "
@@RickySama240 *WOW* _¡Thanks Man!_
@@Fabri_Z.0.6 No problem. Have fun!~ xD
Drifting in this game isn't easy at all and each car drifts and handles vastly different.
I remember the heavy cars being a pain to drive, and the super cars being so fragile to damage. It really made you consider a bit on what strategy you wanted to go in each race. 😆
Ngl I loved the vast difference between the cars. It truly made me appreciate the more bulky vehicles in other racing games and helped me to learn how to drift more efficiently.
The _Ryback Firestorm_ is an absolute *BEAST* if you can master it’s handling.
You made it look like art. Good job!
also the "brake to drift" is my favourite. so much depth rather than simple drift
2:27 "I'll find another way" as he's going trough a shortcut got me.
This game was Pretty good. Wish there was a remaster or even a sequel
there was a sequel in the works before disney pulled the plug on it, common disney L
@@possibly_ben wait this was a Disney game?
@@cybertermination_official Yes
@@cybertermination_official Published by Disney, developed by now closed Blackrock Studios
@@possibly_ben I wish I didn't just learn there was supposed to be a sequel😭
1:16 The cars being thrown to the wolves, that perfect angle on the drift, being undefeatable after claiming 1st place from your victims and that close call afterwards…
Moments of pure awe such as this is why arcade racers still stand the test of time.
*_They’re a pure adrenaline rush._*
You could say they held on to the other side and didn't give up till the end of them.
@@fn-falco4428they’re what you get when the stars collide it, now face it they were just an enemy!
Perfect sync with the landing at 2:10 love it
First "Break Through It All" in Need for Speed, Now "Undefeatable" in Split/Second
So if "Find Your Flame" would go well for Burnout, which racing game would be fit for "I'm Here"? 🤔
RedOut maybe? RedOut is basically a spiritual successor to Wipeout and F-Zero. There's no real combat or super crazy track happenings but there aren't a lot of games where the sheer speed is equal. Seriously, if you do it right, even the slowest class of ships can break the sound barrier easily. So it's kinda perfect for Sonic, since his original top speed was the speed of sound.
@@NexeL_NKC how about Fast RMX?
Wow Great Idea!
I want to say Blur, to keep to theme of regular cars racing each other (yes burnout and Split/second don't use actual cars but still)
How about the outlaw rush in payback, for that final boss feel
Undefeatable is literally the new You Say Run, and it's awesome.
You Say Run but Sonic actually runs
1:24 and 2:09 were just synched so well for me. That Power Play at the first time stamp sends shivers down my spine everytime
Okay, we're all talking on how good this song syncs up with the game but can we talk about the take out at around 1:14 in particular? because that fit so well.
*_Truly is the perfect moment._*
Completely underrated moment in this comment section.
You could say they were "Thrown to the wolves" But sadly, They were Defeatable.
@@fn-falco4428 OP threw the wolves
I remember this game being brutally intense in the end game when racing the Elites.
always been
I'm really happy to see more Split/Second content. It'll never get old seeing the level 3 route changers completely decimate the track, and I have yet to find a single vehicle in any game that feels as good to control as the Slipstream.
criminally underrated game that deserved a sequel
Legend says playing Sonic Frontiers OST in a racing game gives you +100 horsepower.
Also 1:04 fitted so well! Thank you for this Marius!

Where are the comments
Split/Second is still one of the best arcade racing games of all time. I wish it had a continuation.
i love rewatching the sequence starting from 3:37 towards the end
the final chorus kicking in as he reaches the final stretch of the race, accompanied by the red car passing him giving him that challenge of trying to catch him before the finish, kinda feels like NFS The Run during the Marcus Blackwell boss race.
finally as the song reaches the emotional ending as Marius uses one last trap to defeat the red car that passed him, making that red car feel like the final boss of the race
I'm so glad this game doesn't have licensed cars or soundtrack, I can still buy it 😅
I'm honestly amazed by the fact that you find the perfect in length levels to fit with the songs. Well done
@@MariusUrucu You certainly must've done something screwy to line up the music at 2:08.
The most criminal thing of this video... is that sound effects are nice and audible, but the actual engine/exhaust sounds are extremely faint. I can't even blame you for having it like this, the game just has quiet engines in general.
And no sliders for separate sfx either. Idk how the game is on consoles (or if S/S is even playable on emulators)
Good lord. Haven't seen split second in a good while and its still crazy how combat music could work for racing
It fits so well, damn. Love Split/Second, underrated gem. Used to play the PSP port all the time and finally bought the PC version in 2021, very glad I did!
I'm annoyed that the PC version doesn't let you scroll the menus with your controller, but at least controllers work during races.
We need a spiritual successor to this game please.
This game is long-forgotten for Disney
Beautiful! The cinematic look is perfect, especially because the drift sound is G and the song starts in G minor. Also the fact that you actually put in the effort to get the best fitting gameplay is INSANE! Your time management skills must be so good!
Don't know about time management, but I've been at it at Split Second for at least 5-6 hours in the last days just to get the perfect footage for this dumb video idea haha
@@MariusUrucu wow, that's pretty awesome! You certainly deserve more views lol
I still have this game so many memories damn you Disney for not making a sequel
Commercial failure
Well thats a good way to feel powerful in a racing game honestly really fitting
This game was an absolute blast back in the day
wow, a racing game in which you win by killing the competition!
Damn how much nostalgia did you just brought me, I remember how much I was playing that game. Always was so epic to change routes and crash like 6 cars at once. Screw Disney.
Hard to believe this is technically a Disney game it’s so good
01:22 The mountain breaking nearly made me falling out of my chair.
now I can explain to my friends how I liked car racing games because of sonic
2:10 Are we not gonna mention that the landing perfectly fits the "YEAH!!"
I can't tell if the song was made for this race or the other way around still awesome regardless
Believe it or not, Disney Interactive Studios Was the Developer of one of the best Arcade Driving Games, that is, *Split/Second*
The bad thing is that it was developed by, well, Disney Interactive Studios (if we look at it, most Disney games are rubbish) and since the Apocalyptic arcade driving genre was not very popular, the game ended up failing in sales.. ..
A Real Pity... And it's not just me saying it, it's also said by a guy who is an expert in Simracing and most Driving games (Billy Cherokee for those who don't know)....
Technically it was developed by now closed BlackRock Studios, Disney was just the publisher.
The way everything lined up with the music.... beautiful!
Somehow, both transformers and racing games fit with undefeatable
I like how in the final lap it becomes more of a 1v1/Final Boss
2:09 perfect landing sync
*_Split/Second reminds me of Overtake for some reason..._*
*_Especially since I played the arcade "Overtake: The Elite Challenge"._*
Split/second: The race that you survive
Put, Find your flame in any burnout 👀
my favorite strategy you used is one I use during races is where you play alternate routes so they can't be used against you instead of waiting for people to use it on. sometimes npcs will pop off level 2 powerplays, its a rare sight for them to do so but It can happen. also this was my childhood game, I am glad you enjoy it
2:33 I didn't know it was possible to ice skate in the desert with a car but damn those drifts showed you can
Perfect timing when the song just ended
Daaaaaamn bro this takes me back to the classic days of Burnout Revenge
I had no idea how much i needed this
always nice to see split-second get some love. this game always deserved so much more
Ah, split second. Family friendly racing game i played in good old days. I need to give it a try again.
Learning a car completely in this game was super rewarding
I love this game.
The description for the Elite GT never fails to get a chuckle out of me.
"The Elite GT is a pure-bred track car. Great! Except we're going to make you drive it down a storm drain. Through a hail of EXPLOSIONS."
from 0:48 to 2:10 this whole part was perfect as hell i felt so much hype here that is crazy
Dang the power ups in this game is creative and awesome.
We need a sequel to all of the holy trifecta of early 2010’s/late 2000’s action racing:
NFS hot pursuit (got a remaster so good enough)
Split/Second (robbed of a sequel, screw you disney)
Blur (Also robbed of a sequel, the studio that made it went bust iirc)
I'm so sad to what happened to Bizzare Creations. And Blur is another casualty of the "arcade racers aren't in anymore".
Golden era of racing games
Man i still remember seeing the leaked footage of blur 2 it looked sick af, i wish we got both sequels that never showed up
can't say that i was interested in ost, i'm here because i want to see how well Split Second looks in our days
Looks pretty good, not gonna lie.
If Split Second wasn't released in the same year as Hot Pursuit, it would be MUCH more famous than it is now...
in English:what can I say, just perfect.
На русском: что тут сказать- просто идеально.
1:50 that part where the route switches and where the car jumps and lands on cue with the music always sends chills down my spine!
You can blow up a WHOLE WATER DAM!!!!!!!! This game is insane
Such an underrated game, awesome vid!
Dude that game still holds up
Wait a minute, I saw this game like years ago (that video had some Team Fortress 2 memes in it, if you're wondering, might still be around somewhere on the internet) and all this time I thought this was yet another Need For Speed game, but it was a completely different game, apparently? Great nostalgia after school, so thx.
He did it! He did the thing!
Love this one as well. All much syncing makes it work SO well!
The way I see it is, the "story" is basically like Initial D/Running in the 90s anime, but in a different setting and aesthetic.
A story of a overwhelming race against a rookie who's risen with through the ranks, getting a chance to prove himself and win back his honor, as well as the love of his life...
If he loses, all he will never see any of this ever again. He'll never the light of day ever again...
It felt almost like each takedown was like the main character was overcoming something very personal in their lives. It's epic!
0:27 First takedown.
1:01 A rival passes. The battle TRULY begins.
1:07 A SHADOW passes.
1:15 BOTH are destroyed. You are unbeatable.
And at the mellow end of the song, the emotional and personal journey is complete....
The race of all races
Works really well! I’m impressed.
You have earned a sub. Break through it all and Undefeatable were just fire.
Needs either a Remaster or a Sequel. This game has a good soundtrack already, But this is even better.
Well, there was a sequel in development, but Disney forced it's cancellation along with the closure of the studio
Not a fan of racing games but DAMM this fits so well!
If you have Ace Combat 7, I'd love to see the final battle with Mihaly, but with Find Your Flame.
I'd go as far as to suggest the Hugin/Munin final duel. If there's any victorious music in Frontiers it would go right at the part where Trigger escapes the space elevator's shaft.
@@NexeL_NKC Nah. That would be more I'm Here/The End.

God, this game still looks fantastic!
The music is top tier fitting 👌
Damn, someone still remembers Split/Second? This was my childhood along the Sonic games ^^
Ah this game, I used to play it a lot. Glad to see something like this uploaded.
Update: Because of this video I started playing it again.
man, Undefeatable is becoming the new 'Guile's theme goes with everything' song, and I am not complaining.
Now I need a mashup lol
Yooooo, you actually did it. Thank you so much man
Damn you're bringing back the memories with these old racing games ! If you do a "I put XXX over Blur" in the next video I think you would complete the "next gen" racing games I used to play in my childhood all the time lol (I say next gen because nfs hot pursuit, split second and blur were the games I was dreaming about playing one day but didn't have a PS3 or XBOX 360 I was stuck on PS2)
Honestly, Blur is also a game I played a lot, so it's not out of the table.
@@MariusUrucu I'll wait and see then !
@@Nunuchee Hey, don't get your hopes up. I said it might be a possibility, not a guaranteed certainty lol

*YES IT FITS SO FUCKING WELL!*
I caught that sneaky edit
“Drive like hell!”
*Turns on Undefeatable*
Holy fuck, this game looks action packed, my kinda video game action.
PLEASE PLAY IT, it is really worth it and you can pick it up on steam, but it is a kinda bad port since it made some more bugs into the game, but it's playable so try it
Oh my God, what a ride. That was epic!
So THIS is what Admiral Ackbar did after the second Death Star was destroyed!
Slipstream was my favorite car in the game for a long time, nice to see someone else using it.
I love Split/Second. It's my favorite racing game and the song fit the game perfectly
Burnout Paradise x Split Second would definitely be the most hype automotive destruction possible imagine destroying an entire city and wrecking other cars in crashes (If it has a soundtrack as full of grace as this would be even better)
man this game needed to kick off a franchise. it was amazing
i like how agressive this looks like for a race game

Goddamn split second could've used some pop punk. You know you've got a banger on your hands when you hope for AI rubber banding to engage and pass you on the final lap. C'mon I wanna wreck somebody.
Perfectly well done.
I'm sold. I will buy this game. Never heard of it before but dang do you have me hooked.
Mario kart lookin wild
Legend, the game was basically made for it. I'd pick the city or airport stage tho personally.
