This Miyako’s piano rendition is just sublime and outstanding.

Miyako says that there was once a time when she wondered whether she should choose classical or metal as her career path.
One day, she realized that classical music contains elements of metal music, and she came to believe that classical and metal music are basically the same thing, and that there is no need to worry about anything.

It takes a Mozart like Miyako to make a living off of this idea...

She gets knocked for being reserved or introverted on stage. I think after training classical piano from age 3 to 18 it is ingrained in to her being that it is hard to shake off. After all, you don't see classical musicians in happy ragtime mode on the piano, or anywhere in a symphony, typically.
She is glorious, and her passion comes through her instrument and her playing. People that don't feel that aren't getting the message.

AGREE! Her stage presence is fine. The emotion is obvious to those that understand classically trained pianists.

Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" is just one piece from Miyako's debut piano EP "Étude Op.23" which contains her interpretations and reimaginations of 6 famous metal/rock songs. Miyako mentioned that she wanted her EP to showcase just how closely related metal is to classical music.

The test of a top quality musician is the precise adherence to time signatures in a solo performance without the guidance of a rhythm section. Any out-of-time execution in a solo performance is glaringly and easily discernible. This performance by composer extraordinaire, Miyako, is intellectually creative while being very technical in its flow dynamics with flawless adherence to time signatures. Little wonder that if Miyako is given the free reins to venture further into the heavy metal domain, the future of this genre will be a one horse race dominated by Lovebites. And if the world do not wake up to this reality, then they might as well donate their ears to a Hearing Aid campaign. 😂😂

I'm afraid the world we live in is dominated by average. Look at all the gushing over Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa who would not be at the level of Miyako and Lovebites in a million years. I have tried to get family and friends to listen to metal singers and musicians but they are so blinkered that they will not even try. I suppose when we are force fed bubblegum pop all day every day the brain becomes programmed to mediocrity, yet I am the one who listens to "rubbish".

    • @zainalabidinramli762
      @zainalabidinramli762 2 місяці тому

@@redguern If you consider statistical popularity, the likes of Taylor Swift will overwhelm the musical creativity of the likes of Miyako's league, and this undisputed fact will stand the test of time in an ever complex lifestyle in a world where the inclination and developed interest from analytical perspectives of music is diminishing due to lack of time in an environment of greater chores and responsibilities. No surprise that Taylor Swift is the norm, and Miyao is only an element at one of the smaller diminishing area of the curves.
With respect to humanity, this is not the case of "we are force fed bubblegum pop all day every day the brain becomes programmed to mediocrity, yet I am the one who listens to "rubbish". As human we have choices and the exercise of our will.
Its futile to despair on this fact, as appreciating the power house and heavy metal significance that Lovebites exudes is a matter of personal interest and has nothing to do with people who cannot adopt, adapt and embrace. Its best just to humor yourself and enjoy the brilliance of what Lovebites bring to the table and just shrug off the statistical dominance of the Taylor swift cohorts. Ask yourself on the preferences: The popularity statistical dominance of Taylor Swift or to witness the creativity and intellectual brilliance and dexterity of Miyako? Wish you all the best , my friend.

@@zainalabidinramli762 Thank you for your excellent reply. I never listen to TS or any of today's pop music, its simplicity does nothing for me. Having said that, I will watch snippets of TS and the other superstars purely to remind me how good my favourite music is. Food is like music, fast food and takeaways are statistically far more popular than cordon bleu and traditional recipes with locally grown ingredients, but it is more convenient for the consumer. To the younger generation sparkly clothes and silly gyrating by background dancers is more important than musical content. I will keep trying to get my friends to listen to my rubbish! Best wishes.

Having said that, I will watch/listen to snippets of TS and the other "superstars" purely to remind me how good my favourite music is. Sadly I do despair that others won't even try to listen to my music yet I constantly hear "have you heard the new release by (Swift, Sheeran, Adele, Dua Lipa, Kylie, Styles etc)?" If I said that Nightwish, Lovebites, Epica, Tara have new music out I'm met with strange looks.
All the commercial radio stations play mainstream pop without reaching out to metal, prog and similar so I do feel there is a lack of choice. My request to our local radio to play Floor Jansen, pointing out that she is considered one of the finest singers of recent times, was met with silence, not even an acknowledgement. I am still waiting for the day I'm asked to play some music I like. Best wishes.

To me the most outstanding thing about this is not her performance - which is everything I would expect from her ( and more ! ) but the superbly imaginative arrangement of the song which IMHO confirms her true musical genius . It would have been easy to simply lift the song as was and translate it to a piano piece played exquisitely - but for Miyako that was never going to be enough of a challenge - she had to not only be true to the original but embellish and enhance it by playing it in the style of a variety of classical composers - the whole piece truly is a work of art !

It's amazing how she can rewrite and play a song like this original on just one instrument with such detail and texture. 🪽✨

Imagine if this video is your first exposure to Miyako, and then you watch a Lovebites video, where she melts your face off with her guitar. I wouldn't use "hell and angelic" to describe the difference between the original version and Miyako's piano version. The lyrics of the original speak of our mother earth, and the horrible things we have done to her, and that we should treat her, and her children, better. In a perfect world, we would all fly free like an eagle. Another Helloween song with roughly the same theme comes to mind, Mankind. Helloween do, despite the name and their grim looking pumpkin logo, fight on the side of good. Most metal bands do, to be fair, they are just misunderstood, by certain groups of judgemental people.

Lovebites This song is written by Miho as a tribute to her late father, a paramedic, who died at the age of 49. Supposedly Lovebites only ever played the song live ... song called Journey To The Other side ua-cam.com/video/WzAAT7vgKg8/v-deo.html Also this was the first time Lovebites played at this venue, Bass player Miho, Her father used to take her there for concerts when she was young and he was supposed to be there for this one but passed a few months before it took place. What a true professional Miho is that she could play through that song while being so visibly hurting. Asami was emotional as well
