Regular tightening of bolts especially beneath the shockers and between propeller shaft & gearbox is required. Once I was stranded on the road when three out of four bolts on the propeller shaft became loose and fell off and the joint with gearbox became free. Instead of rotating the shaft the joint struck the front differential on the left, breaking the lever. After one month only I managed to get a replacement.
Gurkha owner has to be very vigilant and patient with his/her vehicle or else it will start throwing tantrums at the drop of hat.
My changeover from driving i-10 to Gurkha was such a culture shock that it took me three years to recover from it.
To put in short - just like your loving wife you take care of your Gurkha and she will take care of you no matter whatever you two go through... As an owner of Explorer I can say this journey is certainly not for lesser mortals.
Propellor shaft bolts coming undone is a very serious. Either they were not torqued down at the factory or the lock washers were substandard....
Just curious y would any overlander buy this vehicle for almost 17 lakh? Just for g wagon looks?🤔 or one advantage that it starts in extreme cold temperatures? The Gurkha in Nepal trip lost control over steering when they wer driving in a turn , its a serious issue !

@@beesho9 I have driven my Explorer to Sandakphu on my very first long trip in 2018. At that time concrete portion of road was much less. But hair pin bends were steep and frequently one rear wheel was getting partially out of road. Extreme steering control and braking efficiency (during descent) were required. And my Explorer did the job to my awe compensating my incompetence as a novice offroader. I admire how the crawl function handled the steep descent over boulders while handling the U-turns. At that time my Gurkha was having stock 245/70 R16 H/T tyres only. Sandakphu is very challenging with no margin of error and no point of return. Moreover the local Landrover owners distaste the outside 4WD vehicles supposedly trespassing into their territory. Jai hind...
@Rajiv Sharma due to steering failure , they lost control! Of course in a tough roads steering matters ! They even said that ! And one more thing the altitude may be less , but in south also there is too many extreme off-roads.
The force Gurkha accident you are talking about had a front axle break….most logical explanation would be that they unknowingly engaged the front differential lock while turning the steering.
Bro, the force gurkha which you talk about accident, its was in West Bengal, Darjeeling Sandhakphu where we have the most extreme motor roads.. Its not in Nepal.
I could recall that I warned you about the purchase of Gurkha that Force Motors have launched the car without completing their R&D and proper on road testing. Almost all owners are having some issues and niggles. Issues and niggles are present in almost all budget cars, but they are majorly reliable and won't cause danger to the driver/ occupants.
I faced the same problem in my Thar Di 2013 model.
It was because of Some fault in front ends(I don't know exactly what that is called but Mechanics call it ENDS). That is some kind of rubbers That damages in off roads and steering wants to go straight only.
If we don't change them it will start making noise when we steer left or right.
WTF... It looks like Force needs to heavily invest their time in improving Gurkha because this seems like their only Vehicle, which is attracting people from non-commercial segment too.
Thats bad never expected this with Gurkha specially when it is focussed in selling it for off-roading. Thar is much more better in this case and seeing all your past videos. I think the only serious issue with Thar is to keep a look in DPF. Kher you be safe and drive carefully.

It's hard to believe a vehicle at this generation is not capable from a brand which makes bmw, RR, merc engines with their level of plant technology.
I am unsure if Auto brands fix issues from reviews as they've put enough already on every components and suppliers.
#forcemotors Although I'd still buy Gurkha this year but issues like this breaks the enthusiasm and divert the mind on modding the vehicle, generally after a quick 17-18L investment not everyone has enough budget left to put another 2Ls on fixing something which the Brand couldn't identify in the first place.

Well we have had some serious break down.
Mine had shaft cone out from the front gear box.
The mechanic which FM sent said that the Co left the bolts loose.

Very poor quality and fit finish by Force motors... This is a serious issue for anyone who has bought the car or is planning to buy one.. I own a harrier 2020 and Tata has recalled my car to update and change the whole steering rack even though I'm not facing any particular issues. I reckon Force should take responsibility and do the same.

Did you get it rectified? If yes what was the issue? My Gurkha is just 5 days old n after a bad stretch of about 200 km, at times m already feeling that “thud” behind the wheels. Before it goes regular i want it to be cured. Please do reply to share ur latest update for the steering.

Thar,Gurkha,Innova ke sath agar ek Fortuner 4X4 aur Endeavour 4X4 hota toh bohut hi mazedar feel ata.....actually Innova in very uncommon car in offroading....perhaps it's not capable for it.
An adventure vehicle ( no vehicle actually ) should have none of these serious, life endangering, issues. Steering components, brakes, should be infallible...
It takes courage, conviction and quite a lot of money to buy a Gurkha.
Hope Force take this on a warfooting and iron out all niggles and surprises asap.....or people would rather invest in the Thar, VCross etc...than embrace a headache.

Buy thar only. Cold start may be the only issue in extreme temperatures.
Thar petrol gives better mileage than Gurkha diesel. Force Gurkha lacks power and u can’t use it in normal condition. U can easily extract somewhere between 9-14 from thar petrol. Nd if u r not living in Delhi ncr then u can buy thar diesel. Resale value is also a plus point for thar
If you're planning to go to below -10 areas then go for thar petrol otherwise thar diesel is a good option and you can also wait for Dcv verdict. But i believe it's gonna take weeks, better DM him on the insta.
