The Gurkha also does a mini regeneration after a specific time or kilometer run. The RPM remains just over 1000 rpm even during idling and does not fall below that. I was informed anout this by Ved ji himself when i asked about this behavior. So far have done 11500 kilometers and have not had to manually regenerate the DPF even once. No "Check Engine" light also till now thankfully. Thank you for the valuable information Prashant bhai 🙏
My Gurkha BS6 is also showing similar symptom of 1000rpm at idle, what is the solution to this issue? What do i need to perform on the Gurkha to get it right? Kindly suggest.
@@SushilKPingua its completely normal. You dont need to do anything. Once the vehicle has completed the mini regeneration process the rpm will automatically fall below 1000. Incase you have reached your destination already but RPM is still at 1000, it is safe to switch of the vehicle.
Thank you for the very informative video! I have run my BS6 Gurkha for over 13K kms so far over ranging terrain and have had no issues until recently. After struggling to figure out the issue with the workshop in Goa, I finally contacted the all India service head for support. According to them, my DPF unit is completely choked (despite never seeing the manual regeneration light go on). Their solution is to completely replace the unit - which is finally getting done today. Keeping your tips in mind, I'm hoping that I can address this myself if I ever see the issue again!
Acha channel hai yeh apka jaha aap sab problem batate ho. Hum to City main rahne wale hai aur mujhe ye samjha hai ki ye City and Family ko lekar chalne jaisa 100% to nahi hai. Itna issue hai isme jaha gaadi thode der main khadi hi ho jayegi, aisa tension gaadi ko leke fayda nahi. Mountain area ke liye ye Blessing hai waha normal vehicle chal nahi pate.
DPF issues came after the IDI engine was discontinued. Due to poor plumbing and electronics, Gurkha DI tends to suffer these rudimentary issues but these can be easily overcome with basic steps as you have described in the video above.
Diesel engines had always been a nightmare for specialized operations. Noisey, heavy, and polluting. That's why worldwide expedition teams use Gasoline engines, V6s & V8s are hot favourite. Even the inline 4 ( Gypsy's ) are quite popular in India. Currently the next gen Thar's 2 liter turbo charged gasoline engine is a helluva power block. Bhai ji, your videos are always informative and a treat for the eyes. It's rare to find no nonsense contents these days. Live Long N Prosper 🖖
Don't agree with you , all trucks , trains , ships , defense all over the world run on Diesel . Indian Army runs on Diesel , gypsy is an exception , beautiful engine but it's another USP is it's weight , but that's history . If Diesel's were so bad large ships on the high seas would use gasoline or petrol engines . In the older Dakar rally the Kamaz trucks and all the others used diesel and it worked exceptionally well on the Sahara desert as good as the cars well almost . Check the timings on the last African edition .
