Even if Alabama isn't as successful as they were with Saban I have to admit that as a fan it is exciting to see changes coming since I have been used to seeing more or less the same for so long. He doesn't have to be the next Saban so long as we are competitive in the conference and in the playoff discussion more often than not I will be content. Anything greater than that is just a big plus that I will be very happy to see.
He may not be Nick Saban, but he's putting together a hell of coaching staff. Like WOW 😳

As a Bama fan, im very excited about the future! So many things about Bama football has bothered me for 3 years now! I think this freshness is going to be very good for Bama! Looking forward to what is to come!

50 year Bama fan here. I’m hopefully optimistic but going to stay in the “Let’s wait and see stage.” Bottom line is that we Bama fans have got to be patient and give this coach and staff a fair chance.

I want to know what games some of y'all were watching T-Rob wasn't really all that watch the Texas game, watch the LSU game, the two teams with high level QB's and Wr's and then tell us how great the db's were. 🤔

Yeah if I was Alabama I'd be worried about who's going to score points, because as of right now you're leading running back as far as yards is Jalen Milroe.. Jase McClellan is off to the NFL , Roydell Williams is going to Florida State, you're leading receiver from last year Jermaine Burton is off to the nfl, Isaiah bond is going to texas, Malik Benson is going to Florida State, so who are you going to throw the ball to a bunch of inexperience red shirt freshman?? You don't have one wide receiver on your roster right now that had more than 150 yards during last season, and you're going to find out real quick I'm afraid that Jalen Milroe is not accurate enough of a passer to operate DeBour's offensive schemes.. that's all right but you'll find out that in due time, but the problem is you're still in danger of losing Caleb Downs, and your defensive coordinator that you brought in the only time he was ever a defensive coordinator was with the Indiana Hoosiers and he could never get them above ranked number 56th in the nation.. Alabama has now lost nine players to the transfer portal since the coaching change and has done nothing to try to retain these players, you can be optimistic if you want to but let this guy have just one 8-4, 9-3 seasons and loose to Auburn and he will be finished.. and of all the people he brought in on his coaching staff there's not one single person that has a single bit of legitimate SEC experience when it comes to recruiting, you couldn't be shock though because of the two years that he was at Washington he didn't recruit an absolute single player for the last 2 years he coached that entire team with Chris Peterson's players

@benjaminvalenti1242 I'm trying to be optimistic about the whole situation but my God just looking at it with rose-colored glasses is not going to get it done, anyone that can sit here and say that there's not serious questions about what's going on is just delusional... they're losing too many players, and if they don't lock down Caleb Downs they're going to be in serious trouble...

When Nick Saban announced his retirement I was all in for lane Kiffin then they hired Dabour I am 100% on board with this hire I think it’s just what Alabama needs however I don’t see how Jalen Milrow is it going to fit I have never been impressed with Jaylans quarterback abilities to me he is a running back and that’s it I think it’s going to take a postile quarterback to make this team work
Alabama is stacked....Hopefully Milroe can go to NY next year
Deboer may be the coach Milrow needed. Look at what Bo Nix accomplished at Oregon compared to at Auburn. I know the competition is different but I looked at his overall play, he was better. Roll Tide!!!

I have no questions about the coaching offensively. All I would say is that alabama fans will need to be patient considering how much room to grow the WR’s and RB’s have. Defensively I don’t understand the hype. Womack is a solid DC, but he runs a 4-2-5 which is one of the main reasons Pete Goulding became hated by the fan base. Also why is everyone excited about Linguist. He’s 3-9 in his third year at the university of Buffalo. All in all it’s not bad, but the hype is getting ridiculous.
1. lol clearly you don’t watch much film. SEC offenses have gone to spread looks so the 3-4 has evolved in its scheme and secondary principles. A lot more corners on the back end in match combo schemes
2. Dave Aranda is 23-24 at Baylor. A losing record at Buffalo where the level of talent needed to build a roster is much harder to sustain. Linguist has head coaching experience, he’s coach successfully in the SEC and nfl levels which is why he was sought after for a head coaching job. Solid recruiter as well.
Expectations do need to be tamed a bit until atleast a snap is taken but the staff he’s put together I think is better than some of Saban recent. I also think Saban grind it out style scared a lot of up and coming assistants away. Kirby has had to hire from power 5 schools that aren’t hoisting banners every year. Once KD brings the winning track record to fruition assistants will start calling him not the other way around but this far he’s added some impressive coaches into the mix.

1. Alabama has been playing man match in the secondary for over half a decade. Georgia does it as well. Honestly I think if they go 4-2-5 then they are selling out on the depth they have at LB. Also I was pointing out that the Alabama Fan base is not going to enjoy the defense.
2. Also I’m pretty sure Dave Aranda is on a hot seat, but at least he’s at a P4 school. Going 3-9 in your third year usually means your having coaching or recruiting issues. I’d say recruiting since Shane Montgomery left him after last season to retire. Honestly I do not know how good of a coach he is as a DB coach considering all I know is 2 years T A&M and 1 year at cowboys. Neither secondary looked that great at the time.
Charlie Strong was on the staff with Saban as an analyst. I wonder if he was ever considered.

Kurtiss was Kalen DeBoer's QB are the U of Sioux Falls.
They won the NAIA national championship in 1996. Kurtiss was an All American QB, Kalen an All American wide receiver.
Kurtiss went on to coach an Indoor football team.....Sioux Falls Storm for 20 years.
He won the league championship 11 times in those 20 years.
He also was Kalen's QB and wide receiver coach for the 5 years at U of Sioux Falls when they won 3 NAIA national championships .
He retired from coaching the Indoor Football team earlier this year, because he was expected to join DeBoer at Washington.
He is in the NAIA Hall of Fame as a player and the Indoor Football Hall of Fame as a coach.
Rumors now going around Sioux Falls he is headed to Tuscaloosa.
The guy is an offensive/QB genius.
He will take the QB's at Alabama and make them exponentially better.
If he comes, Alabama fans are going to absolutely love this guy.

There are only so many good/great DCs out there and they are all employed. Not like they're a dime a dozen. Who would you hire?
@@richardroberts4355 this is Bama. Not some small time job. Arguably the best DC job in the country. We should always be able to have someone who is considered a top 5-10 DC on staff and we have the ability to poach from anyone else. This guy's only SEC experience was over a decade ago and he was DB coach at OLE MISS. He's never called plays in the SEC nor recruited at a high level. I understand his numbers were good at USA but think about the level of offenses that they're going up against as well. TJ Finley put up 52 on him. This hire just reeks of Pete Golding. And this time he won't have Saban to fall back on. I think this could end very poorly. I think Durkin or Karl Scott both would have been better hires, as well as developers of talent. Just to name a couple of names that we were supposedly in the mix for. We also had Charlie Strong on staff who should have gotten an interview
@@jnorman975 Durkin? No way he would take the job. Strong? Possibly. Womack was hired for his connections in recruiting. That matters just as much right now, if not more. Al, GA, FL, LA...Bama has to recruit those states and Deboer needs recruiters as well as coaches. This team will not look like the Bama teams we are accustomed to. It's very hard to have elite Defensive numbers in today's game. Give Womack a year, if it doesn't work out, look elsewhere.

He's got multiple years of experience calling plays in this league and has had some solid defenses. He's also a great recruiter. Just seems like a good fit to me
