‘They’re a source of comfort for me. I feel calm just looking at them…. It is like having a friendship forever.’
FINALLY a new Hodinkee Japan episode! Japan has so many prominent collectors with fascinating angles. Please, more of these!
My kind of episode - such a great appreciation for the watches, my only regret is not stopping into the store in Ginza while in Japan last year!
Goodness me- it would be worth learning Japanese just to spend an afternoon with this man and his watches
this guy collects the way I aspire to. just through pure interest and passion. no frivolous hype.
1:23 I find it hilarious that they don't even mention the Philippe Dufour Simplicity. Great episode!!
I was about to write the same thing lol you’re right it’s really hilarious
Damn, that tiny, one-of calendar watch is incredible. True piece of art.
Finally with English subtitles! Enjoy!
Hodinkee crew would you all consider upgrading video quality to 4k. I would love to see even more details in your videos.
That Patek 3428 is perfection, what a gem of a watch.
Soo cool . What a fella .
"I'm attracted to things that are well-made, whether they 're modern or old." Wise man, and modern watches are simply better than vintage stuff.
Amazing collection, true watch lover!
Great episode!
That's what I'm looking for. Great ! Thanks H.
I would love more content out of Japan. Loads of hardcore collectors there
Good episode for once
Now this is some good content!!
Henry Birks is or was a British (or Canadian) jewelry story, so the watch made by Mr Andersen was probably made to order for the Henry Birks store.
Yup, Birks is still alive and well here in Canada.
Nice to see the awesome Ref 3445 housing the legendary 27-460 movement.
Awesome episode.
Was that a Phillipe Dufour on the table?
yes i found it odd they didnt mention it
1:20 looks like a simplicity
Its so interesting how the Japanese have such a different take on the hobby
More content from Japan please!
It's amazing that Patek Philip stole my design for their crown. I've been drawing that since I was a little boy.
There's a travel clock set up to be very prominent in the frame throughout the video but no mention of it?
This is the best talking watches since the OG days
After this video the prices for the shellmann with enamel dial will go through the roof 😭😭
Impossible to read and drive 🤦♂️
not even one rolex. true collector !!
Was that oyster speed king not his?
