  • We’re excited to share the opening of a special exhibit on January 15 in the Lynn H. Wood Archaeological Museum: “From Script to Scripture: The History of the Bible.” To find out more and plan your visit, go to sau.is/archaeology.
This new exhibit-never before displayed publicly-will feature over 80 pieces, including rare, original Bibles, such as a copy of the 1611 King James Version, the Vulgate, and a translation by Martin Luther. The exhibit will explore the history of the alphabet, the transition from scrolls to books, and the role of the written word-particularly the Bible-during the period of the Reformation and beyond.
In this video, the museum’s curator, Michael G. Hasel, PhD, previews an original edition of Martin Luther's 95 Theses, which was published in Latin in 1517 and sent out to the populace. This will be on display along with other supporting works that help to illustrate the war that went on in religion during the Reformation.
