This video draws me in every day. I have just started drumming at almost 56yo, decided to be a part of the music as to just listening. Right about the 2:27 mark you go into a little zone with that grin on your face, that's what I'm seeking and that's why I watch this, to remember the hard work will be worth it. You're welcome. John Mellencamp is some of my favorite music in the world, and I can't wait to be able to hit that zone you're in. I've had a kit for 7 years and done nothing with it, just furniture and something for the grandkids to hit. Now the 5yo thinks she wants to play so I thought maybe I should too to encourage her. I'm having the time of my life!!! Again, thanks for the awesome video, my goal is that same zone you seems to be in.

I agree. I created a blacklight room at home with all the 70s posters I had as a kid. I just ordered a Ludwig 5piece kit and it should be here tomorrow. It's going to look great in that room!

Hey, nice playing. I noticed that you're using your bottom hi hat on the top. Do you always play your hi hats reserved like that? I have a set of Legacy hats myself, and I've never thought to play them reversed. Its interesting!
+Cathal Carolan hey Cathal. Thx:) well... I love this hihat symbals:) i use sometimes the button on top to get more definition. Its a little bit more spicy and sharp. The regular top is in my opinion more washy. Depending on the mood i change :)
+robert kaufmann I agree, the top hat definitely does sound more washy! I quite like the sound of them reversed from this video, I must give it a try :) I just recently bought a set of Legacy hats. They seem to be regarded as "jazz" hats, but I play all sorts of music with them. I play in a rock band and I think these hi hats are great for rock music too. I just love the dark sound. Do you play different genres of music with them yourself?
+Cathal Carolan by experimenting you get some inspirations. Music is inspiration...so you can never stop experimenting. Thomas lang plays meinl jazz rides as crashes:) its always up to you what you love. There is no musical limit by the cymbals. You can play a jazz cymbals in a hardrockband:)
