- A short video showing the process involved in Vertimowing your lawn @cutngrasslawnmowing
This process is often used in Western Australia to remove the build up of thatch (Grass) that occurs over a period of time on lawns.
The process is very labour intensive and can be quite dusty. It involves cutting down in to the lawn using two different types of machines (Mowers). A Scarifier/Vertimower used to reach the turf build up in the lower section of the lawn and a Groomer used to trim the turf build up on the upper section of the lawn.
The Turf (grass) is then mowed with a cylinder mower to level off the lawn, in about two weeks time after this process the lawn will appear green again.
Looks amazing, need to try this on my lawn. Thanks for sharing ✨✨✨
Thank you Carol
Yes it does make a big difference, in about two weeks the lawn looks like a green carpet
Great work on the lawn.
Thank you! Cheers!
Few questions for you mate:
1. How many sqm of lawn?
2. How long did it take?
3. How much waste did you collect?
It's about 100 square metres, took me from beginning to end nearly 3 hours, took equal to a 6 X 4 trailer of waste, I use bags so it's a bit easier to dump later
Can you hamd rake the thatfh, after thr vertimow? Or does it need to be sucked up by a mower?
Yes you can hand rake it up, the only reason we use a mower is it's a bit easier
Raking does a good job too
That's good, it's just that my mower has lost it's sucking power.
