Sorry you had to experience all the negativity before arriving at this new mental place. But it sounds like you're to going to rediscover ice skating on your own terms. Definitely looking forward to following you on this journey!
@MindfulBanter, I noticed you are at the Capitals IcePlex in this video. Living in an area of Virginia without a rink, at least a year round one, I am considering this particular rink for a "home" rink. Can you tell me more about your experiences with the Iceplex?
It's a nice rink! The facilities staff are about as friendly as any other rink I've been to, and there are a fair amount of sessions to skate. If you need anything after 5 on a weekday it might be tough since those are more sporadic. I'm taking a break from lessons so I don't have experience with any of the coaches but folks are friendly
@MindfulBanter , I have to travel four to five hours to get to DC(most convenient option is DC, closest rinks are 3 hours but harder to get to since I don't drive and they aren't near transit lines). Before 5pm is actually more convenient for me because of that. I'm just starting to learn, though, and want to get through Adult 1 ahead of the seasonal rink here opening.
Glad to see you’re reclaiming the sport for yourself! Whatever happens in this sixth year of skating, I hope it brings you joy!
Yaaaaaay you backkkk!!!

Keep on truckin'! It's for your own enjoyment and creativity.

Ayyy theatre on ice! I love theatre on ice because it feels like fewer people feel the need to get all UP in my gender.
Ahh I found a new skater to follow and she doesn’t post anymore lol
Sorry 😭😭 my friends still post on Instagram...😅
