Steam Hauled Sleeper Train Anyone? 70000 Britannia Loaded Test Run 1150TH VIDEO!!!!!!!! 04/02/2022

Coming up in this milestone 1150th video we have our 1st visit of the year to our friends at The Severn Valley Railway as we see for the 1st time since August 2020 Jeremy Hosking's 70000 Britannia on loaded test runs between Highley & Kidderminster following completion of her mainline overhaul at Locomotive Services Group's headquarters at Crewe 5A.
But 1st a trip down the memory line back to our last shot of 70000 Britannia back in August 2020 while she worked Saphos Trains's The Fellsman over The Settle & Carlisle.
Seen here at Garsdale during the climb to Ais Gill with the spine tingling tribute whistle at the time in memory of West Coast Railways's fireman Mike Middleton who sadly passed away the day before The Fellsman trip ran as she sped through the station.
Sadly for Britannia her bearings overheated at Carlisle & was declared not fit to work the return run & as a result upon her return to Crewe 5A after being diesel dragged over Shap her overhaul started early than originally planned.
Now a year & a half later in 2022 she's back or though not fully painted at this stage during her running in period.
We 1st see her on her 2nd run of the day to Kidderminster on the approach we head north get her 3rd run to Kidderminter at Foley Park as she approaches the tunnel.
We end this milestone video at Bewdley station in the last bit of sun light as she coasts past the station after her crew handed over the single line token to the signalman.
After her performance on the loaded test run which consists of her MK1 support coach & 7 MK3's which 4 of them were ex Caledonion Sleeper cars & 3 MK3 cars that were made redundant following withdrawal of the GWR HST's from services out of London Paddington.
70000 Britannia has not lost her sparkle especially at Foley Park. It's great to see her back operating again.

Steamers are more suitable for sleeper trains because the chuffing sound is relaxing and helps the passengers sleep. 👍
Steam is the future, diesel and electric will never catch on.
Agreed. How many on here would buy tickets for a long run through the night, with the sound of a Britannia chime whistle? 🙂
