My dad actually knows them personally, used to play football with the drummer Ali Clewer. Says they very nearly made it but didn't, such a shame as their music is great. Lovely blokes aswell apparently.
I have known the one since he was 2 - they DID make it but chose to quit because the label was pressuring them to churn out junk. They wanted to quit on a high rather than sell out.
Even Coldplay themselves said they had nothing on these guys around that time. They weren't far from the truth, though: these guys have some tear jerkers with their angst-fueled songs on their debut. Probably would have turned into another Keane, but we can only guess.

Saw them support Stephen Fretwell at the Garage in Glasgow. They were fantastic and outdone Fretwell.
