  • Full review and demo of the Audient iD14 MKII audio interface, everything is covered here: the unit, features, iD Mixer, ScrollControl, and Loopback.
    #Audient #AudioInterface
The Audient iD14 MKII is a 10in/6out audio interface that is loaded with features. And all of them will be covered in this video, use the Chapters to skip around.
The iD14 MKII is completely USB Bus powered (USB3 or USB-C required), so that, along with it's small size makes if very portable.
The Mic pre-amps have 58dB of gain, plus there is a 10dB boost in the iD Mixer.
It has ADAT expandability, so if you need up to 8 more inputs you can connect an external mic preamp.
There are 4 Line Outputs, so you can drive two sets of studio monitors at the same time, or use the ALT Speaker feature (Speaker switching) to switch between pairs.
ScrollControl let's you control on-screen parameters, like plugins or to draw in automation with the big knob on the iD14 MKII.
Loopback is also included! So you can easily live stream or podcast with your DAW, or screen record with DAW audio to create plugin or DAW tutorials (by using something like OBS Studio). You can also use Loopback to record non-DAW audio into your DAW.
And there is an on-screen mixer included, so you can setup your no-latency direct mix, and create different Cue Mixes.
We'll cover all of these features and more in the video.

Excellent review Brother! You cover the whole gambit of usage. I just received my iD14 mkII and can't say enough about it. I think my guitars alone went up 3 notches in pickup character alone from the really clean JFET impedance and circuitry. Better than a cloud lifter and the mic pre's shine with clarity. Add to that the stellar output and S/N. Your video is like a users manual. Refreshing, when all too many other YT reviews are just a hodgepodge of echoing vague first impressions. Your review shows you are covering the important and useful possibilities. Gave you a thumbs up. Thank You!

Yes, I'm not personally a fan of videos where folks simply give you an opinion (hype) and don't even show the function of a plugin or interface. I always try to focus on function, not hype.

But, since your guide is there i can refer to it any time if in doubt. Thanks again.

Thank you for the detailed review. I ended up buying this audio interface. Extremely satisfied!
However, i am having a small issue and haven't found a solution so far. I am using OBS to stream and i set the input device for my mic at the "Analogue 1/2 (2-Audient iD14)". This is the exact description in OBS. I am getting signal, the sound is good, but something limits the volume coming into OBS at max -6dB . I can't get beyond that. I've looked into the filters of the Mic and there is nothing there, no limiter. I've tried a usb mic to see if the issue is OBS or my audio interface, and with the USB i can get it clipped.
On the iD14 , i have connected my mic via XLR on input Mic/Line 1. No matter if i have the volume knob turned at 75% or 100% on the iD14, it will still limit the output going into OBS.
Does anyone knows what's causing the issue?
    Thanks fam.

First of all, holy shit that was so beautifully in depth and you answered so many questions I've had about loopback that I've been scowering for, awhile now. But of course it has raised another question for me.
Once in awhile I perform at open mics on a lil "social game" called VRchat and the loopback function is going to solve many problems I've had. However I'm realizing that since I'm going to be likely sending my 1-2 to OBS or possibly straight to VRC (I may be wrong about that second option), the live audience in VRchat will likely hear themselves as well no? I think there's probably an easy answer to this that I'll figure out once I get my hands on it (likely by using a Cue mix and sending that to VRC instead?). Lemme know if I'm close or very wrong.
Thx for reading my long assed question.

I am trying to use a reverb pedal as outboard gear and I have it running from Output 3 on ID44 to pedal input, then output into Input 1 on ID44. I am using Studio One with the pipeline plugin and when setting up I/O it's taking send from Output 3 and return from Input 1, but nothing is coming through when played back. Any ideas?

Do you connect the guitar directly to the card or do you have some DI to reduce the input signal?
Do you have this experience with any of your guitars with passive electronics?
What pickups did you record with?

    • @jaketeeling5679

But I didn't get one thing - now I have only one pair of monitors and can I hear any system sounds (browser for ex.) while using OBS? Cos' when I'm turning on system to 3-4, and using 1-2 for loop back I see the levels jumping but I don't hear enything - signal going on "second pair" of monitors? But if I didn't have them I can't hear sound, right? And doesn't care what position I choose in "View ---- Show System Panel", right?

Great audio card. I bought it today and It get electric on USB cable. Means even your computer HD doesn't calculate for something you can hear the deep noise from speakers when you volume up maximum. But if you work on music studio like very quite one, you can hear the deep noise easily from Mark2. So I have mark1 also, I compared both and mark1 has not any deep noise if I use with adapter. If I m not using adapter, it makes same noise like mark2. Question is what will happen when you bounce your music or arrangement from your software, so will it bounce deep noise on music? I don't think so, I mean it shouldn't be.

I have a problem and i need your help please! My setup is FL studio + ID14 + AKG condenser mic. ALL drivers up to date (DAW driver is set to Audient one). I can record everything fine in my DAW. I use only my ID14 as my source of sound so Windows output is at Analog 1/2 so i can hear both youtube and my daw for example. I can record windows into DAW like shown here 21:18 through loopback BUT I CAN NOT do the opposite as shown in here 22:28. Ive done everything like you did. set all things that i see to 48kHz AND set loop back to master mix. OBS is capturing windows audio just fine but loop back is silent. My daw output is 1/2 so i hear it in the Main Mix. I can loop the audio from DAW to DAW thats for sure because the sound doubles and goes feedback mode. I just dont know what to do now. For some reason its just dont work. In any other setup or tutorial everything works perfect but not for me even though i do EVERYTHING EXACTLY LIKE ON THE VIDEO. Thank you for your attention.

The video has helped me a lot since I had no idea how to make it work, but I have a doubt, is there any way for the audio to be played through my pc directly?

Only if your playback engine is your built-in PC sound card.

Hi, This video was instrumental in me making my decision to buy this Interface. With Windows is there a way to not have the device default to 44.1k when the PC is restarted. I have to manually change this setting every time i restart my PC. for normal use. The only time I dont have to do this is if suing my DAW which has the option to "Request Sample Rate" and "Block Size"
