The lack of a power switch was the main reason why I sent the iD14 MK II back. Once you have your setup on the table, you don't want to be constantly moving the audio interface and pulling out and plugging in the USB cable. Especially if you also do a lot in the dark and when the cables are pulled tight at the rear. That should actually be standard in this price segment. I would also have liked a standard USB cable or adapter right away. Not everyone uses a Macbook with a USB-C port. So I first had to go to an electronics store. They didn't have any suitable cables. So I had to order another one online before I could finally plug in the interface. Compared to the old and another new interface, the headphone output was very low with a USB-C -> USB 3.1 replacement cable. And the design would also have allowed a Midi In/Out. This is not meant to be hate, but constructive criticism. Other than that, it's a great audio interface and I sent it back to myself with a very heavy heart. The ADAT connector is also very practical.
Yes, Why don't Audient produce a rack mount model? Actually it so good and class product which will stand along with Apollo & RME kind ones. It would be great if Audient come up with a Rack mount model. Waiting for that.

@@thomas.cloutier-guay I’m not an Audient owner so I don’t know about their interfaces, but let me say this to you so you can better under why they say this about latency. 2 different Interfaces can have 32 or 64 buffer size but the Controller, Converter chip, Drivers determine the speed (latency) when doing the actual conversion, thus having different latencies. Hey! The converters have also been upgraded to give greatly improved audio performance. You can see a full list of the specifications on our website at audient.com/products/audio-interfaces/id14/tech-specs/
Amazing content as always, I was wondering if this as the Evo 8 also has a Loopback feature or not, is key for what I'm looking for, I will appreciate your answers. I'm excited to test one of your interfaces soon enough.
Yes it has, with the new chips we have been able to increase the dynamic range of the DACs to 126dB! We have a full breakdown of all the specs available on our website at: audient.com/products/audio-interfaces/id14/tech-specs/
Hey Guys, I purchased the ID14 Mark II last year and I have paired it with a Rode Procaster mic. I am very happy with how it sounds. But since last week, there is this annoying voice assistant in the software that announces any button in the software that I hover my cursor over. How do I disable this voice assistant feature? Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you guys!
Hello, it sounds like the new accessibility features for users with visual impairment have somehow been activated. Can you please send a message to support@audient.com with details about your system (OS, PC model...etc) and we'll be able to help you with this.
Hey Vlastimil, yes they are independent. Using the Cue features in the iD Mixer app, you are able to send different mixes of audio to different outputs, perfect for sending separate audio to a headphone amp or another piece of audio gear etc.
Recently purchased iD14 out of desperation and awkward predicament as my old AI gone kaput. Nevertheless, the best money I’ve spent on that my wife didn’t complain at all. The ONLY update it needed is if they’re able to also assign DSP/effects into the digital mixer like MOTU or UA, which will save so much processing on the DAW line. But the preamp is insane, the multiout is insane (perfect for using it as simultaneous backing track and click track for live), saying bye-bye to extra headphone splitter everytime I need to record guerilla vocals, and definitely it looks sleek.
Is it possible to use this Interface in Stand Alone Mode ? Connect to an USB Socket and not to a Computer. , I dont want to record, but to use it as a Inout Mixer for Music Playback of my Hifi DAC oder CD Player, connectes via Stereo XLR (L+R) and then send to the Stereo Output and controle via the Volume Knob. Is this Possible? Thanks
Hello, I'm afraid that this isn't possible on the iD14 MKIIvas its not possible to send audio from the Inputs to the outputs without access to the software mixer running on the computer.
Whenever Audient ID14 MK2 is powered off between PC boots, it should initialize at 0% volume. Sometimes, however, it will initialize at 100% volume instead and stay at that level until the user moves the scroll control wheel (then it immediately jumps to 0% where it should be). ID mixer shows the card being at 0% volume, while you can clearly hear it being dangerously loud (as a precaution, I had to permanently lower my monitors' volume to survive these situations, as it's a serious health hazard otherwise). please help me if you also got this issue!
Hello there, This certainly isn't normal behaviour for the iD14 MKII. Can you please ensure that you have the latest drivers downloaded from our website and that the firmware of your unit is fully up to date? Otherwise, can you please send us some details about your setup to support@audient.com and we can help troubleshoot.
Hi Audient, Is it possible to use Audient Asio Driver inside OBS or ZOOM for online keyboarf tutorial? I want to capture the audio from my DAW with OBS. Most audio interface needs 3rd plugin for it. The only interface that can load its ASIO driver inside OBS or ZOOM, only Steinberg 22c as far. Please answer, TIA
I don't belive its possible to use ASIO drivers in OBS or Zoom as they only support the Windows System Audio (WASAPI, MME, Directx...etc) It is possible to capture audio from your DAW however using the loop-back channels even when not using the ASIO driver. Send a message to support@audient.com and we can walk you through how you would set this up, or check out the Loop-back videos on our channel!
Don’t be sad. The Audient Preamps are fantastic, I have 8 or them in my 2802 and I’ve used /loved em in the 8024 Large Format Studio Console. However, the UAD Solo also has fantastic, clean preamps. But the Apollo also includes Unison on those Preamps, that allows you to emulate some of the best Preamps of all time, in real-time, and you can either commit to that sound, or save those setting and print ultra clean. The functionality of using either is remarkably similar. The Audient gives you great Analog Pre’s and more I/O bang for buck, plus that knob. The UAD, especially with the included classics plug-in package, give you More flavors at your fingertips, and the ability to shape and mold your sound Before you reach your DAW and hit record. They’re both incredibly valuable, and they’re not necessarily an either/or purchase. I have both, and use both in different situations. I’m considering getting one of these new little guy’s, even though the last thing I need is another interface. But since when is audio about needs?
I bought the ID 14 MKII last year and now I'm working on guitar effect processors Line 6 Pod Go, where would I connect it? At the front at the instrument input or at the back at the mic/line input?
can i use this card for watching movies? can i connect Kali audio MM6 via RCA 3,5мм and subwoofer also via 3.5мм RCA at the same time? and if two people watch a movie with headphones - each person can independently adjust the volume?
You can connect the Kali MM6 but we'd probably recommend using a pair of TRS to XLR cables rather than a RCA. The Sub can be connected to outputs 3+4 but please note that the iD14 doesn't have any kind of crossover control so this must be handled by the sub itself.
why can't control volume of out3&4 ? even evo can do daw thru feature sucks to me even if I lower volume of daw track(out34) it is just recorded to sampler just low volume but with peakgain noise
You can instead feed outputs 3+4 using the CUE mix and use the CUE master volume control in the mixer to control the volume of the send rather than using DAW THRU
We need an 8 pre audio interface to pair with ASP800 or ASP880 and get 16 channels at 96khz. I am currently waiting for something like that from Audient so I can buy another ASP880, and keep my 96khz workflow when recording drums. It would be awesome if you could let us know if there's plans for some interface like that in the near future so we can record 16 tracks at 96khz.
Hello :3 Please be honest :'c... Are they different converters compared to the original version? Or did they improve integration into the circuit? And another question, could you do a test of recording a sign and pass it through the output and input many times? In this way users can encourage us to buy this version, please do not be like SLL that reserves everything for them. We occupy audient for quality and price! :3 Thank you!! :33
And if it's other converters, could you tell us the name? Seriously, the truth is valued more than marketing, and if the brand is transparent, consumers can know what we're buying. Please, you are audient, not SLL with SLL2 :'c
@@Audientworld I checked out at Thomann and it is now on wish-list. Kudos for upgrading the generation, adding new features and keep the same price range. That´s really smart from you guys. Greetings from Spain.
In a technical sense, yes. I have a Tube Preamp that runs into my iD22. The input gain on my Audient is set to 0. The Tube preamp sends plenty of signal into the interface for recording Voice Overs and singing.
Hi Simon, Thanks for your question! It is not possible to bypass the preamps on iD14, unless you use an external preamp which can make use of the optical connection. You can however bypass the preamps on our iD22 and iD44 interfaces
Hey guys! Will I be able to use 3 line outputs at the same time? I usually find myself requiring to give a seperate headphone mix to artists coming in for recording while I use my main monitors for monitoring the recording. I recently found out that certain interfaces do not allow this(UAD Apollo TwinX), but this feature is absolutely essential to my workflow. Looking forward to hearing from you guys!
The iD14 MKII allows you to send separate audio to the two pairs of line outputs and the headphone output using the Cue Mixes in the iD mixer software. The iD14 MKII would be great for having a second artist headphone mix setup.
Glad you like it! Check with your local dealer in terms of pricing and availability (for reference iD4 retails for £139 inc VAT in the UK). iD4 stock is making its way to shops as we speak and is already available in some locations!
This is normal behavior as he current draw of the unit will vary depending on the audio passing and the features that are being used at a given time. For example using phantom power will typically cause an increase in the current drawn.
@@Audientworld I mean it's using usb 2.0 not 3.0 because the max current is capped at 500 mah , while my ssd is using 3.1 and its max current is capped at 900. Did I get a faulty unit?
The unit may report that it is running at USB2.0 power in the system report or Device Manager but it will still be able to draw the required current when required.
The problem I have with my iD14 and the same problem has my friend who uses the same interface is that the input is too hot. When used with a guitar tracking raw DI, even with the gain control set to 0 there are numerous cases of clipping the DAW input. That's really bad to be honest. We have to run a separate DI box with a pad engaged.
Unless you're using super hot pick-ups you shouldn't have an issue with overloading the DI circuit. In this instance, you can simply turn the guitar down slightly using the volume pot, you don't need to drive a DI like you do an amp.
Hello Audient, i have a question. Im looking forward to buy your product from the video to expand my mic preamps for recording drums. Right now im using a focusrite scarlett 18i20 2nd Gen which has 8 mics pre and for my recording i would need atleast 10 and initially i was looking forward to get another focusrite to expand but after some research i came accross with your beautiful and high quality ID14 and immediately changed my mind to buying id14 instead of Focusrite. Its not that i dont like Focusrite i do love them but ive been wondering if ID14 will work great with focusrite by ADAT? and one more question, do u think its necessary to clean the inside of your interface after 2-3 years of using? u know like how people clean their Amp heads once in a while. Please respond because its really important for me to know before buying it :)
Hi there, Firstly, yes the iD14 will work with the Focusrite via ADAT. Also, yes it's always good to keep your electronic products clean, but make sure you're extremely careful and ensure the unit is not live. Many thanks Isaac
The Mic inputs on both iD4 and iD14 MKII have +58dB of gain. The DI input of iD4 MKII has +40dB of gain whereas the DI input on iD14 MKII has +58dB of gain. I hope this helps!
@@Audientworld But i saw in manual iD14 mk2 has only 40db on instrument input which i downloaded from Audients website, so which one was correct, or is there any mistake? Because I have to decide between those interface.
Hi Team, For some reason, my ID 14 never remembers the volume level. Every time i start the PC, the monitors go silent and i have to use the volume knob to increase it. Any way it can remember the volume level?
This is normal behaviour for the iD14 and it will reset to zero when first powered on in order to minimise the risk of playing loud audio out when the unit is first powered on.
This isn't normal behaviour, however you may get a small bump on the speakers when the unit powers up. Could you send more details about your setup to support@audient.com so we can help you?
hi. is there a way to route the headphones to be outup 5 and 6? I want to play 5.1 music, so i need 6 channels. Channels 1-4 can be line outputs 1-4 and then the 1/4" inch headphone can be output 5 and the 1/8" inch headphone out output 6? thanks
Hello there, Instead of using both headphone ports, you can just use a 1/4" Stereo to 2x TS Mono splitter cable and plug this into the 1/4" headphone jack. You would then get the two channel from one port. Please note theres no way to control a 5.1 signal level on the iD14 so you'd need to control the level on your PC or use an external monitor controller.
The Main Knob is also a push switch to mute the outputs, this does cause a little bit of wiggle on the main knob but this doesn't affect the strength or longevity of the knob.
The last major change was from the MKI to the MKII which happened in early 2021. I don't know that exact XLR cable but provided it has well-built connectors and hard-wearing cable with good shielding then it should do the job just fine.
We've not tested this exact scenario so we cannot say for sure I'm afraid but I'm nit sure the iD14 will be correctly powered in this setup. If possible I would reccomend using the USB ports instead with a USB-A to USB-C cable.
Great review !!! A question: I often use a Roland Aerophone AE10 MIDI Controller connecting its analog output to Headphones or Amplified Lodspeakers. Can I connect this analog output (a normal Headphone output) to iD14 MkII frontal JFet Instrument Input or it should be better to one of the rear Line Inputs? Many thanks. A greetings.
If you are connecting a headphone output, you would need to use a Y-Splitter cable to separate the Left and Right Channels. These can then be connected to the Mic 1 and Mic 2 channels of the iD14. If you wanted to just have the audio in mono, you can just connect the Left channel of the Y-splitter to Mic 1.
The iD14 can also be used with a USB-C to USB-A cable. In this configuration, you do loose a little bit of headroom on the headphone amp due to the lower power of the USB-A connection but everything else will work exactly the same.
Hello, greetings from Buenos Aires. I have a problem. When I disconnect my audient id14 mk2 from the USB port and reconnect it, the computer recognizes it, but outputs audio saturated, or only one side of the stereo channel. After several reconnections, it works fine again. What can be? Use USB A - C 3.0 cable and USB A 3.0 port. Windows 10 I usually disconnect it since when I turn off my pc the interface is still on.
Please clarify what is the fundamental difference between the new device and the first generation interface? Is there a difference in converters? The same questions apply to ID4. Thank you!
Hello! For both iD14 and iD4, both have greatly improved converters, so the audio quality on the way in and way out is much better than previous generations, on top of that, they are both USB C bus powered and run off USB 3.0 now. iD14 also has an extra set of line outputs for speakers or audio gear, and dual headphone outputs. Full audio specs can be found on the product pages of the website 😊
Hey Guys, sorry for necroposting but I can't figure out if I can connect an external headphone amplifier to my audient id 14 mk II and how to do it... I contacted support a long time ago but the information I received at the time was unclear and not very helpful so if anyone is still following the comments under this video, I would like some clarification on this. Thank you very much for your attention
Hello, you can either connect a headphone amp to outputs 3+4 of the iD14 MKII or you can use the headphone output to feed the headphone amp. Both will work equally well so it just depends on what is more convenient for your setup.
This wouldn't be possible with the iD14 MKII I'm afraid as it doesn't have any Digital outputs to feed a DAC. This would only be possible with the iD24 and iD44 which do have Digital outputs.
Hi, thanks for the video, can it work with IPhone? I am trying to record an acoustic piano For a non professional set-up, I have been looking at Scarlett 2i2 and I was recommended to look at iD14. Can you please share some insight? Thanks
The iD14 MKII isn't officially supported on iOS I'm afraid. Whilst you can connect it up and get basic stereo I/O, as there is no iD mixer app for iOS, you loose a large amount of functionality.
This could be done using the Loopback Mix. You would setup your Loopback source to take the audio from Mic 1 and Mic 2 in mono and then feed this into your audio software. You can find videos on our channel on how to set this up.
@@AudientworldThank you for the reply, i ended up purchasing the id14 yesterday and late at night i found the loopback function, i'm so happy with this product so far, noise floor is so low i can't hear it over the ambient noise even with my windows closed. Only nitpick I have is that volume of monitor headphones are reset to 0 on power loss/reboot but that's probably a setting i overlooked somewhere.
The headphone jacks are both fed from the same headphone amp and are both set at the same volume. If you need independent headphone outputs then the EVO 8 or iD44 would be perfect, or you can use an external headphone amp with the iD14 MKII
There are no major differences between the two devices other than a slightly different form factor and different I/O counts. The audio quality is great on both units!

Id14 or steinberg ur rt2?
Amazing content as always, I was wondering if this as the Evo 8 also has a Loopback feature or not, is key for what I'm looking for, I will appreciate your answers. I'm excited to test one of your interfaces soon enough.
Both EVO 8 and the iD14 (MKII) have Loop Back channels for sending audio between applications. You can find videos on how to use this on our channel!
Id14mkii vs evo 8 i cant decide.
Is there much difference?
dose it run dt 990 pro 250ohm???
The iD14 will happily drive a pair of DT990 250 Ohms :)
The Big question then, is when are you updating the 44 and the 22 ?
The outputs are always stereo L&R? Or they can be also used as 4 mono outputs?
The outputs can also be used as 4 mono outputs instead if required.
has the DAC chip been upgraded over the mk1?
massively. it has 126dBA SNR, which is in a different class from the original
Yes it has, with the new chips we have been able to increase the dynamic range of the DACs to 126dB! We have a full breakdown of all the specs available on our website at: audient.com/products/audio-interfaces/id14/tech-specs/
@@Audientworld thanks for your response. Sounds great
Hey Guys, I purchased the ID14 Mark II last year and I have paired it with a Rode Procaster mic. I am very happy with how it sounds. But since last week, there is this annoying voice assistant in the software that announces any button in the software that I hover my cursor over. How do I disable this voice assistant feature?
Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you guys!

Are those sets of two line outputs independent?
Hey Vlastimil, yes they are independent. Using the Cue features in the iD Mixer app, you are able to send different mixes of audio to different outputs, perfect for sending separate audio to a headphone amp or another piece of audio gear etc.
Just ordered one of these if this is good I’ll get the id 44 next year instead of the apogee 😁😁😁
But the preamp is insane, the multiout is insane (perfect for using it as simultaneous backing track and click track for live), saying bye-bye to extra headphone splitter everytime I need to record guerilla vocals, and definitely it looks sleek.
great design
Is it possible to use this Interface in Stand Alone Mode ?
Connect to an USB Socket and not to a Computer.
, I dont want to record, but to use it as a Inout Mixer for Music Playback of
my Hifi DAC oder CD Player, connectes via Stereo XLR (L+R)
and then send to the Stereo Output and controle via the Volume
Knob. Is this Possible? Thanks
Hello, I'm afraid that this isn't possible on the iD14 MKIIvas its not possible to send audio from the Inputs to the outputs without access to the software mixer running on the computer.
First time satisfy with a soundcard :))
Hello there,
This certainly isn't normal behaviour for the iD14 MKII. Can you please ensure that you have the latest drivers downloaded from our website and that the firmware of your unit is fully up to date? Otherwise, can you please send us some details about your setup to support@audient.com and we can help troubleshoot.
Hi Audient,
Is it possible to use Audient Asio Driver inside OBS or ZOOM for online keyboarf tutorial?
I want to capture the audio from my DAW with OBS. Most audio interface needs 3rd plugin for it.
The only interface that can load its ASIO driver inside OBS or ZOOM, only Steinberg 22c as far.
Please answer, TIA
I don't belive its possible to use ASIO drivers in OBS or Zoom as they only support the Windows System Audio (WASAPI, MME, Directx...etc)
It is possible to capture audio from your DAW however using the loop-back channels even when not using the ASIO driver. Send a message to support@audient.com and we can walk you through how you would set this up, or check out the Loop-back videos on our channel!
Damn! Really Want it But Week Before Just Bought Apollo Solo USB SAD :(
Don’t be sad.

I would connect the Main Output(s) of the Line 6 Pod Go to the Line inputs on the rear of the iD14.
can i use this card for watching movies? can i connect Kali audio MM6 via RCA 3,5мм and subwoofer also via 3.5мм RCA at the same time? and if two people watch a movie with headphones - each person can independently adjust the volume?
You can connect the Kali MM6 but we'd probably recommend using a pair of TRS to XLR cables rather than a RCA. The Sub can be connected to outputs 3+4 but please note that the iD14 doesn't have any kind of crossover control so this must be handled by the sub itself.
why can't control volume of out3&4 ? even evo can do
daw thru feature sucks to me
even if I lower volume of daw track(out34) it is just recorded to sampler just low volume but with peakgain noise
You can instead feed outputs 3+4 using the CUE mix and use the CUE master volume control in the mixer to control the volume of the send rather than using DAW THRU
Does it deliver as a standalone headphone amp? That's what I want it for.
scroll control is fix in the knob or just insert like a cap on the controller????please reply
I'm not sure I fully understand your question I'm afraid. Could you explain further?
The mic is AT4040?
We need an 8 pre audio interface to pair with ASP800 or ASP880 and get 16 channels at 96khz. I am currently waiting for something like that from Audient so I can buy another ASP880, and keep my 96khz workflow when recording drums. It would be awesome if you could let us know if there's plans for some interface like that in the near future so we can record 16 tracks at 96khz.
muy bueno el pedacito que entendi , gracias !! espero que alguien lo haga en español jeje
What AD and DA converters has id14 mk2?
Hello :3
Please be honest :'c...
Thank you!! :33
And if it's other converters, could you tell us the name?
Seriously, the truth is valued more than marketing, and if the brand is transparent, consumers can know what we're buying. Please, you are audient, not SLL with SLL2 :'c
What’s the price tag of it?
I would love to upgrade from the one I have which is the previous gen.
It's best to check with your local dealer for exact pricing, however to give a reference, iD14 MkII retails for £199.99 (inc VAT) in the UK.
@@Audientworld I checked out at Thomann and it is now on wish-list.
Kudos for upgrading the generation, adding new features and keep the same price range.
That´s really smart from you guys.
Greetings from Spain.
Is it possible to fully by pass the preamps ?
I doubt it, that's why Im getting the ID44
@@miguelpessanha Can you use the iD44 with an external preamp, with the iD44 preamps fully bypassed?
via ADAT yeah
Is the new ID14 better spec'd than the ID22? This is what I have...if so, do you offer nay trade-in programs to upgrade? Thanks.
The iD14 is slightly better in terms of specs but the iD22 offers a greater number of I/O. We don't offer a trade in program I'm afraid.
@@Audientworld ok thanks. Would you say the headphone amp is also better? I use this mostly. Thanks.
The headphone Amplifier is the same circuit as the iD22 but is fed by a better DAC so there will be a slight improvement in headphone quality.

Glad you like it! Check with your local dealer in terms of pricing and availability (for reference iD4 retails for £139 inc VAT in the UK). iD4 stock is making its way to shops as we speak and is already available in some locations!
Looks nice, but the main control knob looks a lil' wobbly... Am I imagining that?
Hi Pete, we can assure you the volume knob is extremely robust and sturdy.
Are you using KALI AUDIO MONITORS?? are they good??
Nice Video Setup!
Mine is using 500 ma (aka usb 3.0) even after connecting to usb 3.1 port with a 3.1 cable .
OK ordering one as soon as its available, got the first model, got evo8, m4, ssl2+ but I'll still get this bad boy
Nice, in your opinion,Which one has the best pre amps and converters out of these?
Hi there,
Firstly, yes the iD14 will work with the Focusrite via ADAT. Also, yes it's always good to keep your electronic products clean, but make sure you're extremely careful and ensure the unit is not live.
Many thanks
Isaac
OMG!! I need it woww
Can you use the big knob for direct monitoring, i.e. blending between the direct signal and the DAW signal?
This isn't possible. Your direct monitor mixing is done through the iD mixer software.
Hello Audient's, im about to get this interface, but is there any different between input gain of id4 and id14 mk2?
The Mic inputs on both iD4 and iD14 MKII have +58dB of gain. The DI input of iD4 MKII has +40dB of gain whereas the DI input on iD14 MKII has +58dB of gain. I hope this helps!
@@Audientworld But i saw in manual iD14 mk2 has only 40db on instrument input which i downloaded from Audients website, so which one was correct, or is there any mistake? Because I have to decide between those interface.
Hello, that does appear to be a mistake in the manual so I will ensure that it is updated shortly. The DI input on iD14 MKII does have +58dB of gain
@@Audientworld Thank you for the clarification. I Hope it does not lead to more wear on volume knob.
So when the computer in is sleep mode and wakes up ,it almost blows my monitors . Is there any option to fix this issue ?
This isn't normal behaviour, however you may get a small bump on the speakers when the unit powers up. Could you send more details about your setup to support@audient.com so we can help you?
hi. is there a way to route the headphones to be outup 5 and 6?
I want to play 5.1 music, so i need 6 channels. Channels 1-4 can be line outputs 1-4 and then the 1/4" inch headphone can be output 5 and the 1/8" inch headphone out output 6?
thanks
Hello there,
Instead of using both headphone ports, you can just use a 1/4" Stereo to 2x TS Mono splitter cable and plug this into the 1/4" headphone jack. You would then get the two channel from one port. Please note theres no way to control a 5.1 signal level on the iD14 so you'd need to control the level on your PC or use an external monitor controller.
The big knob seems to have a lot of movement...is this an issue?
The Main Knob is also a push switch to mute the outputs, this does cause a little bit of wiggle on the main knob but this doesn't affect the strength or longevity of the knob.
@@Audientworld thanks for the reply
hello, I would like to know if something has changed in terms of components in the new version 2022? and is the xlr cable proel bulk 250 good?
The last major change was from the MKI to the MKII which happened in early 2021. I don't know that exact XLR cable but provided it has well-built connectors and hard-wearing cable with good shielding then it should do the job just fine.
Is it possible to connect the iD14MKII to a 2011 iMac with a thunderbolt to usb-c cable?
We've not tested this exact scenario so we cannot say for sure I'm afraid but I'm nit sure the iD14 will be correctly powered in this setup.
If possible I would reccomend using the USB ports instead with a USB-A to USB-C cable.
Great review !!!
A question:
I often use a Roland Aerophone AE10 MIDI Controller connecting its analog output to Headphones or Amplified Lodspeakers.
Does it works with USB C to USB A cable... because it comes with USB C to USB C cable both ways ?
The iD14 can also be used with a USB-C to USB-A cable. In this configuration, you do loose a little bit of headroom on the headphone amp due to the lower power of the USB-A connection but everything else will work exactly the same.
@@Audientworld the amps will still work 100%?
The headphone amps still work 100%, you just loose a little headroom meaning you may get some clipping if driving them very hard.
if i don't have usb c on my pc what i need to do ? buy a adapter or something ? help!
You would just need to buy a USB-C to USB-A cable. Not adaptors needed!
Windows 10
I usually disconnect it since when I turn off my pc the interface is still on.
Thats quite strange behaviour, if you haven't already could you please contact us at support@audient.com and our team will be able to assist you?
can i get direct monitor output and 2ndly loopback option
Both direct monitoring and Loopback can be controlled via the iD mixer software.
Can I add this to an avalon vt-737 with a lct 540?
You can connect the Avalon to the Line input on the rear of the iD14 and then conenct your Mics through that instead.
@@Audientworld Thank you! Is there a difference between the converters installed in ID4 and ID14?
the iD4 and iD14 MK2 both use the same AD and DA converters.

Yes a USB-C to USB-A cable can also be used provided its a USB3.0 port. You can connect up an ADA8200 top the optical port without an issue!
Nice. Is it possible to adjust the volumes of the two headphone outputs individually ??
It isn't I'm afraid. Both the headphone outputs are fed from the same headphone amp and therefore use the same volume control
@@Audientworld ok perfect, thank you. Can I likewise interpose an external DAC to the preamplifier?
This wouldn't be possible with the iD14 MKII I'm afraid as it doesn't have any Digital outputs to feed a DAC. This would only be possible with the iD24 and iD44 which do have Digital outputs.
Hi, thanks for the video, can it work with IPhone? I am trying to record an acoustic piano
For a non professional set-up, I have been looking at Scarlett 2i2 and I was recommended to look at iD14.
Can you please share some insight?
Thanks
The iD14 MKII isn't officially supported on iOS I'm afraid. Whilst you can connect it up and get basic stereo I/O, as there is no iD mixer app for iOS, you loose a large amount of functionality.
But can it monitor input gain level and not just output?
The Meters on the unit show the output level, however you can easily monitor the input levels using the meters of the iD mixer.
Can I have two microphones connected and mix them into a mono signal on a hardware level in windows?
Does it have 2 true separate headphone amps and outputs with dedicated volume controls or is it simply one headphone amp with 2 different sized jacks?
The headphone jacks are both fed from the same headphone amp and are both set at the same volume.
If you need independent headphone outputs then the EVO 8 or iD44 would be perfect, or you can use an external headphone amp with the iD14 MKII
What's the output impedance of the headphone outputs?
The nominal headphone output impedance is 22 Ohms.
ID14 Mkii vs ID22...There are any differences between those in sound quality aspect?
There are no major differences between the two devices other than a slightly different form factor and different I/O counts. The audio quality is great on both units!
