I love organisation!! I think I have landed on a good organisation system that works for me. When it comes to jewellery, I am so minimalist and wear the same few items almost every day. I am very fine boned and have developed a very simple, pared down style. I wear earrings, watch and a cocktail ring. Sometimes I don't even wear a necklace. I subscribe to the Coco Chanel philosophy of removing one thing before I leave the house. It is usually a piece of jewellery. I agree with you, Erin, about quality of jewellery. I go for a few quality pieces that mean a lot to me and then repeat.
Thank you, again, Erin. Very inspirational video. I've become very organizationally challenged over the years, and it's my number one goal this year, and especially at this time. xo
Thanks for the video, Erin. I keep some of my bags in dust covers but I printed up photos of the bags and created tags so I don’t forget about them. I also do the same with shoes that I store in shoe boxes.
Wonderful video. I buy some larger statement necklaces off of the Real Real. I tried the large white taffita draw string bags to protect them, and of course couldn't locate anything! I finally settled on multi eyeglass storage! I have wonderful room to put my 36' inch (and up) necklaces with stones and leather, and nothing gets scratched because they can't touch! I keep it on top of out of season items in an antique trunk.
Good morning Erin! Thank you for your videos.....you’re doing a great job! I’m already very organized in the closet/storage department but I’ve still watched every video. I’m sure you’re helping a lot of people. I really enjoy your positivity and kindness, it is refreshing. Have a great day😊
Thank you Erin. Seeing your happy face is a day brightener 😍 I tend to be ocd about organizing my home, but I know many people who don’t think that way. These videos have been helpful ! Have a great weekend.
I use the drawers but I keep my favorites on a shelve! I will buy one of those displays for my rings because they usually get misplaced and forgotten with the earrings! Such a great idea! Your collection is so diverse and beautiful! For my bags I use the plastic that comes with many Amazon boxes 😊
Hello Erin. Thank you for the tips, organizing my jewelry is the hardest chore for me. I store some of them in their original boxes, some in a few jewelry boxes and some in drawers in jewelry bags, some in cosmetic bags and some in a jewelry hanger in my closet which has pockets on either side and snaps on one side for bracelets. My mother passed away a few years ago and I had to clean out her house prior to the sale. I got a kick out of what she did with her costume/fun jewelry. My mother received a lot of chocolates from friends and relatives as gifts. She use to receive some large Fanny Farmer boxes with bon bons in them. She saved the biggest ones, cleaned them out and put her earrings, rings and pins in them. LOL!!! The plastic linings had depressions in them for each chocolate and a quilted paper lining on top to protect the chocolates. Which now protects her jewels. She even had one box with longish plastic compartments in them, I can't imagine what kind of candy was in that box. She would put her bracelets in the longish compartments. I don't know if Fanny Farmer still does that, I really don't like candy. My mother had two other very old fashion quilted covered jewelry boxes from when she was single that she would keep her pearls in and rope necklaces and a smaller keep sake box for special items. I can't get myself to give them away or toss them, they date from very early times, like the 1940's. I have placed my own pearls in one of her purple quilted jewelry boxes and snagged her special box for my silver rings. I have summer hats and winter hats. I keep my winter hats (felt with brims) in a spare room covered with cloth, for easy access when I dress. I keep my summer hats in paper shopping bags and store flat on the top shelf in my closet. It is time to switch them out now, I don't see that there will be much use for felt hats in mid April. I also roll my belts and put them in a drawer, but I have a lot of very skinny belts for my waist that do not seem to be in style right now, but they are in great shape and I dare not give them away. I also seem to have more scarfs that Dr Birx (daily briefings) I have accumulated many scarves in my life time as well as my mother's scarfs and my mother in laws scarfs. I have worn most of them, but I have noticed that scarfs and the type of scarfs I own go in and out of style quickly. I need to figure out what to do with them. Some are light weight, some are silk, some you can use as a belt, some small ones for around the neck (bandana size - Madewell) and some are big blanket wool scarfs. These little used and seasonal scarfs are hard to store. I love your bag box ideas. I have smaller see through (and stackable) drawers on top of the main hall closet where I keep my wool hats, gloves, scarfs and baseball caps. I have so many evening purses, small cross bodies and large work bags and tots that it is ridiculous. Don't even get me started about my shoes. Just call me Mrs Emilda Marcos.... I do try to cull my clothes every season and keep them in the spare room until I realize I am never going to use them, then donate or toss, but this quarantine has me digging out some old slacks and tops that I otherwise would have given away by now, if we weren't in quarantine. No need for lounge wear unless I do some heavy duty Spring cleaning. :-) Hang in there, Erin and stay well. I can't believe that tiny Massachusetts was number four on the Covid-19 list of cases in this country. I can't even describe how scared I am to go get groceries. Fortunately, my part time job, just ended on Friday, unless she gets a lot of new taxes in, which she doubts. I am sorry and relived at the same time. I just applied for my full Social Security benefits at 66 years of age in June, so at least I will have some income. I thank God, my husband is able to work at home.
Wow, it's great that you have so many sentimental items from your mother. One tip is to store all of the pieces that you are not currently wearing, but want to keep seperate from those pieces that you wear often. I hope this helps, Anita! It is such a scary time right now. I'm wishing you and your family the best of luck through all of this. xo
Thanks Erin - lots of inspiration there. I have a vintage tooled leather hat box that belonged to my grandmother. I was going to get rid of it (we had to clean my mom's house out last year) but we moved in December and I used it for the safe transport of my belts and scarves. This house has minimal storage and the belts and scarves are still in it. It sits on a shelving unit in the bedroom and is lovely to look at as well as being a link to my mom and Nana. I guess my suggestion is to search for vintage hat boxes as storage.
I have a cupboard, but I went with the trays for earrings and pendants. Necklaces are hung. I don’t have a drawer to dedicate so I slide them under my bureau. I don’t mind sitting on the rug to make my selection. All my choices are neatly in one place together. I sort the earrings by color. I do remove my jewelry daily and put it in a candy dish that I got at Goodwill. Once a week I will put it all away.
Hi Erin amazing tips for putting your jewelry and hand bags together and your are a great at organizing your stuff. Thank you Erin for this amazing video and love the blazer with the t-shirt look gorgeous. Love XO
I almost got rid of this TV armoire. When I Googled large jewelry cabinets, I saw people using actual furniture pieces and instead, repurposed the cabinet for my jewelry. Ordered drawer dividers and jewelry displays. Working out great! 🙌🏼 If I can figure out how to send the pic, I will. 🤔
Thank you Erin, I look forward each week for your news letter. I too have been closet cleaning during this stay at home. However, I still have difficulty letting go of items. Sure which you could be here to help. I have always rolled /folder lingerie and t- shirt, but not jeans but they are folded now. There are other great ideas I will be including now.
I am a visual person, too - love to have everything where I can see it. But it’s also good to protect handbags and other accessories from dust. I am always on the lookout for clear containers that are breathable. I wish they made clear dust covers for handbags!
What a relief to see how you store your handbags! I get so stressed out because they cost a fortune. If you keep yours in a linen box, I'm going to do that too. 💛🖤💚💙💜♥️💞
I am now hanging my hats on the wall as decor. I got tired of my hats getting smushed on a shelf. I even had a hat stand, but stacking the hats wasn't working for me. Now I'm using those wall dots to hang the hats separately, to prevent kinks that you can get with traditional hooks.
I own a jewelry armoire like the one on the far right (7:16 min mark). I left off the legs and had my husband mount it on the wall in my walk-in closet. It's out of the way, but easily accessible.
Hi Erin! You are such a Doll! Thanks for this fabulous video a lot of great tips! On another note what is the lovely necklace you are wearing in this video? not to big or small just what I like? Thanks for sharing! God Bless you and your family.
Brilliant ideas Erin love the linen bins and your jewellery organisation I have the mini hooks inside my closet door so when I’m getting dressed and choosing an out fit my jewellery is hanging there for me to see thankyou honey stay safe 🙏😘💐❤️👗🏠🍀👜👖
I want to get me a jewelry cupboard. I don’t thave a lot of jewelry but I end up wearing always the same because I don’t see the rest. I reduced my belts to 3, and 2 of them have interchangeble buckles. Game changer for me!
love your jewelry tray in a drawer...would suggest you put something behind the tray to keep it from sliding... i know people who use the command strips to hold tray in place but putting something behind it also works.
Another necklace storage idea . . . I have an adjustable shelf that has holes at various levels for the metal shelf holders. I have inserted a dowel into one set of the holes. I hang my necklaces by color, weight, and style across the dowel. The advantages . . . you can see all of your necklaces and there is no chance of them tangling. FYI.
Love this series... You inspired me to organize my entire closet. Now I walk in and it sings to me :). I used to keep my designer bags in their dust bags until this series and I now display them because the truth is they are so gorgeous why hide them?.
Erin, thanks...I have so much jewelry and I use the stacking system from Container Store. It's great but I still don't see all my pieces. I also agree 100% about getting better quality jewelry. I got tired of tossing poor quality jewelry and started investing in better quality, fewer pieces. Be well...thanks again!
I found an over the door jewelry armoire on amazon! Love it - when the door opens, the display lights up! Bonus = I now have a full length mirror inside the closet whereas before, I had to step out of the closet to get to my full length mirror. And holds all my jewelry. I think songmic is the brand.
Hi Erin struggling with everything today . Good distraction I have the mirror stand up one it's absolutely brilliant and use every day to apply my Make up also. Xxx ❤️
I keep my bags in their dust bags so they don’t get dirty so I’m still looking for a good way to organize them without taking a lot of space. I love having the dividers in drawers, they help organize things! Even using nice boxes will do it, like using empty Godiva chocolate boxes lined up ☺️
Thank Thank thank you! Mine is out of control & haven’t found one system to fit my collection. Thing is since I’ve been grounded & not going to the office I started to think I should downsize......NAW!
Maybe see if there are pieces that you are not wearing anymore and pass those along. It is hard to see the pieces that we love when there are so many other things in the way. xo
I have been experiencing a lot of problems lately when it comes to wearing earrings. It seems I have developed high sensitivity if not allergic reaction to gold. Do you have any advice on how to prevent that from happening? I'd really like to be able to enjoy my gold and pearl beauties. Thanks!
Oh no! Usually 14K gold is recommended for those that are sensitive to other metals. You may be able to use a cortisone type cream, but I'd check with an allergist or dermatologist. Wish I could help more. xo
Great video Erin. Thank you... love your jewelry on the video, if you can please share the link. And how are you keeping your hair so nice!!! Please share your secret too. :) Thank you.
Thank you, Monica! Here are some videos where I featured some of my jewelry collection: ua-cam.com/video/36r86Pp5ThQ/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/7IVtxnlodYc/v-deo.html . I have some hair content coming up soon. xo

I also need to organize my beauty products...and my kid’s toys 🤦🏼♀️I know kids toys are outside your niche but you are very good at organizing 😉.
I use the dust covers for the better purses, yet I wish there was a way to keep them in a good state and be visible without the plastic transparent bags they sell.
Hi Erin, I just want to say thank you for being so thoughtful and down to earth by changing your content to match the times we are living in, I see other youtubers still pushing sells when a lot of us just lost our jobs, stores are closed I just don't understand, in any case, thanks for thinking of us and keep us entertain, i know you also lost a lot of your income and you can relate, I would love to see more tip videos, personal videos (like your love story for example) more share the love (other channels you like) recreate outfits like you di with JLO, keep doing a great job, we appreciate it.
Erin, I appreciate how you are tailoring your topics to the present times. It shows great sensitivity.

Thank you, again, Erin. Very inspirational video. I've become very organizationally challenged over the years, and it's my number one goal this year, and especially at this time. xo
Thank you, Rita! xo
I use ice cube trays and egg cartons to store my earrings. Love the bins for your purses. I might have to put out some money for those!
Great idea, Debbie! Sometimes we need to get creative! xo
Debbie Gibson Me too. I also use some empty trays from chocolates.
Thanks for the video, Erin. I keep some of my bags in dust covers but I printed up photos of the bags and created tags so I don’t forget about them. I also do the same with shoes that I store in shoe boxes.
Great idea, Pam! Thank you! xo

Thank you, Yazmin! The ring display is great! I forget about things if I can't easily see them. xo

Hello Erin. Can you please do a video on what tops and shoes would look perfect or work best on mid-length satin skirts (both plain and printed)?
I have done a video styling a satin skirt 3 ways. Here is a link: ua-cam.com/video/A_ULrn7Mxbw/v-deo.html

I have a reversible belt with an interchangeable buckle and I agree...game changer! xo
Great video and ideas! To save space I stuff my handbags with scarves.
Great idea! xo
love your jewelry tray in a drawer...would suggest you put something behind the tray to keep it from sliding... i know people who use the command strips to hold tray in place but putting something behind it also works.
Thank you, Diana! I usually do have something behind the tray, but it got moved as I was organizing. xo
Hi Erin thanks!
Thank you, Lena! xo
I love how Erin "geeks out" on accessory organization! LOL It's the little things in like that make us happy. :) Great video!
Thank you! xo
I love these kind of videos! Keep them coming please.❤️
Thank you, Kimbee! xo
FYI.
Great idea thanks for sharing!
Great idea, Danni! xo
Great ideas! I don’t like leaving jewelry out due to dust.
Love this series... You inspired me to organize my entire closet. Now I walk in and it sings to me :). I used to keep my designer bags in their dust bags until this series and I now display them because the truth is they are so gorgeous why hide them?.
Thank you, Grettel! I'm so glad that these videos have been helpful! xo
Erin, thanks...I have so much jewelry and I use the stacking system from Container Store. It's great but I still don't see all my pieces. I also agree 100% about getting better quality jewelry. I keep my bags in their dust bags so they don’t get dirty so I’m still looking for a good way to organize them without taking a lot of space. I love having the dividers in drawers, they help organize things! Even using nice boxes will do it, like using empty Godiva chocolate boxes lined up ☺️
Please do a jewelry video on what to purchase for higher quality trendy and classic with designer pieces, thanks

This video gives me deja vu
Hi Erin, I just want to say thank you for being so thoughtful and down to earth by changing your content to match the times we are living in, I see other youtubers still pushing sells when a lot of us just lost our jobs, stores are closed I just don't understand, in any case, thanks for thinking of us and keep us entertain, i know you also lost a lot of your income and you can relate, I would love to see more tip videos, personal videos (like your love story for example) more share the love (other channels you like) recreate outfits like you di with JLO, keep doing a great job, we appreciate it.
Thank you so much! I think it is important to be sensitive to the climate that we are all in right now. I appreciate this feedback! xo
I don't even have any jewelry. LOL
You could use these suggestions for any types of accessories that you may have. xo
Unfortunately, I don't display my jewelry because of theft...easy target if someone should break in. We have been robbed several times.
That makes a lot of sense, Mary! xo
