  • A worlds first (?) UA-cam look at the worx Hydroshot WG633 seeing the Evolution in Hydroshot technology 56 bar (812psi) of pressure using a single 20v powershare battery. video includes a good selection of the accessories and how they perform,
    unfortunately my video editor was not liking this video so was unable to speed up the foam gun scene and accessory change scenes, appologys for this.

      Yeah, I once accidentally sprayed it on my bare foot with the turbo nozzle...... about as extreme pain as you can get without a full on cut to the skin...... though firing it at pears and pumpkins and watching it blast out the other side is somewhat satisfying!!

      For water usage economy I reccomend using the mist sprayer (small brass one) wa1843 it delivers the perfect minimum amount of water for getting rid of foam and soap suds as well as the perfect amount for gently watering your plants like its designed to too!

    Nice review Mike, I have an original WG629E.1. I don't have an outside tap and hose, even at a mere 22bar it allows me to soap up and rinse the car with two buckets of water, I would love one of these though.

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  Рік тому +3

      If you don't have an outside tap be prepared to get a big bucket, the 220lph means she is the most consumptive hydroshot in the whole range. She will suck up 55 litres of water in just 15 minutes...... that's 26 2litre bottles...... a 2 litre pop bottle lasts just 32 seconds!!! But the power........ its next level!

    • @morgan8937
      @morgan8937 Рік тому

      @mikesptworld now that's a stat! I've upgraded from a small bucket to a 5 gallon bucket, to a flexi tub like the yellow one you use in your tests. Pretty sure that when it's guzzled it down, the battery has only lost one bar of juice. Seen reviews on greenworks but battery consumption sounds rapid. I don't think the flow rate or pressure are up to the nitro either. I might be wrong.
      When I used a 1 liter bottle to clean the window, I might as well have thrown a bucket of water at it lol. Jk, it had pressure behind it so it worked well.
      I'm obsessed with this thing. And if I ever win the lottery, I might get the electric bike you mentioned that uses worx batteries. Just so I have a spare 8ah hydroshot battery of course 🙃

    I picked one up the other day, I was impressed with the battery life had it on full power and cleaned 2 cars and messed about with it for a while spraying the floor and still had 3 bars. Was more concerned about how much water it uses I think I filled the container 3 times. Also i think I have a faulty trigger, do you have to keep pressing in the button on the side each time you let go of the trigger? If so that’s is so annoying. Or is mine broken?

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  9 місяців тому

      They are mighty fine as a machine In general, the button on the side is a safety button due to European law regarding safe usage of hazardous machinery, if you get used to it then it is a god send especially if you have kids etc. If not then I'm sure you could tape it in if it really gets in your way, I'm glad you like the performance and run time of it though :-)

    I have the 630 brushless and use it with a hosepipe. Worthwhile upgrade or no? I am curious why they limited the battery size just to have battery protection I never had trouble with. I found the 4Ah adequate on the 630 for my needs anyway and swap to another if I need to finish a clean.

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  Рік тому +1

      I would say it is a very worthwhile upgrade, it's more powerful and has higher pressure and flow too, combine all this together and you get an impressive package, the battery holder is limiting but having seen 8ah packs on the new aventon e-bike powered by worx power-share batteries (yes I will try my hardest to get one and review it!) The 8ah packs appear to be the same physical size as the 4,5 &6ah packs are currently.

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  11 місяців тому

      Any worx fitment lance will fit, 2ah battery will still work but the battery run times will be considerably less than desired even 4ah are surprisingly short lived dependent on your power expectations (or rather understanding of more power requires more juice) vs run time

      Hi, yes the 5ah Pro battery will fit no problems as will 6ah too, I was just thinking about doing a volume test wg630 vs wg633 eco mode showdown, exactly the same volume test with the yellow buckets and the timer but both in eco mode? Will get this out ASAP.

      @@mikesptworld thanks for the reply and information. The battery box looked quite tight.. wasn't sure if a 5ah or higher would fit so that's good to know 👍
      I'm actually tossing up between the WG633(551psi high/362psi low with 200L/h max flow) and the WG649 with the external pump(725psi high/435psi low with 272L/h max flow) . Seems like the WG649 is more powerful and quieter, but looks to be bigger and heavier, and also drains 2 batteries faster than the WG633 drains one lol. Do you have any experience with the WG649 beast?

    • @dastrangle

      @@mikesptworld with the volume test that you're thinking of doing for eco mode.. it would actually make some sense to add a comparison between the WG630 in high mode and WG633 in eco mode. they are putting out roughly the same psi in this configuration.

      Hi, i suspect the autoglym one MAY work I have yet to find this out first hand but if it does fit I expect it not to work as well as the worx one as it will be made to work with mains powered 1800psi+ models and will not be as efficient with the worx hydroshot, though I can't really say I have been disappointed with the worx one so much that I'm searching for an upgrade, though it is on the cards for a future purchase and video at some point.

      You can hook it up to mains, no issues, I show the use of buckets here to prove the hydroshots go anywhere ability being cordless and able to draw water from any source. Where did you get that short lance? Does it affect the pressure output?

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi, the short lance is a worx official short lance part number WA4013, I have done the calculations previously for the short vs long and yes there is a difference..... you gain approximately 0.3psi...... this is due to internal pipe friction on the longer standard lance, battery variation due to temperature and cell age is more likely to affect performance than the lance length! :-) hope this answers your question from a technical point of view :-) happy worxing

  • @morgan8937

    Enjoying it.
    10 year brushless motor warranty 2+1 yr limited.
    I reach for it frequently, even just to give car a quick 5 minute pollen and bug refresh or spot clean rather than a full-on clean every time.
    Defo need a sponge or brush at hand if want to do a proper job, but that's no big deal.
    I like the lower pressure setting for my soft top roof which is made of material. Higher pressured jet washers might damage the fibers over time.
    Haven't tried the cannon yet as I had to order from germany as out of stock nationwide.
    Couple that with the fact that I haven't installed an outdoor tap at the rear of the house...and this thing potentially saves me alot of faff!
    I seem to run out of 5 gallons of water long before I run out of battery juice which is a good thing. You were right when you said the 20v 4ah is rather juicy!
    Impressed with pressure for what it is, it, with the minimal help of a sponge or brush, gets the job done, quickly.
    No cables hoses and equipment to connect, lug around is something i dont take for granted, freeing up time, energy and water resources.
    Worx could design and provide a solution that ensures the hose and filter don't slide up from the bottom of the bucket all the time, interruoting workflow. Clips I've tried slip off the edge of a 5 gallon bucket constantly.
    Thats a minor niggle that I can find a rig for.
    I'll borrow or rent a full on pressure cleaner for a day if I need to use it on patio once or twice a year.
    Now looking for some kind of a bucket dolly that is lightweight, but strong, to wheel a full 5 gall bucket to drive or street. I would rig a tool and lance rest to it, instead of having to sit the hydroshot nitro on its side on unforgiving pavement. Don't want to crack the ipx5 housing.
    I find that a 5 gall bucket is never quite enough to finish the job on a proper clean.
    I also kept the £90 aquajet by yardforce to take on holidays or have as backup. It's not bad, but its not brushless and I don't expect it will last as long. Will the Aquajet's shoddy branding stickers turn out to be reflective of the quality of the Aquajet? Or will it outlast the hydroshot nitro?!
    I'm so interested to find out down the line.
    There are workarounds for most of my minor niggles, but overall it fits my life and needs, and it exceeds my expectations.
    Ps, i think i just gave you the 100th like on this vid. Just saying. 👏 congrats!

      Many thanks, I agree on all your above points. Try the turbo head for your patios :-) I have yet to find anything it can't deal with on the turbo head aside from stripping paint, etc. I appreciate the like, but I try not to count them and base my videos on them - right now I have no clue how many views this has had as I am commenting through YT studio..... it just shows me comments for me to respond to..... it doesn't even tell me which video it relates to so I don't even know if this is the comparison video or tye review video :-P my channels ethos is honest reviews on the products to help others get the correct products for their needs, yes I am a worx fan but it doesn't necessarily mean it is the right product for you and your needs, even if my video only helps just one person decide a products worth it is a job well done, I'm far from a monk but I do like to stay humble :-) I thank everyone for watching and hope that I help make the right choice even if you decide the product is not for you :-) though I do really appreciate the positive comments :-) many thanks and happy worxing :-)

Take from that what you will but on a bike, I would recommend you pressure washer off the worst, snow foam pre wash, rinse using mist spray, snow foam shampoo, rinse mist, shampoo and scrub using a rotary brush, detail awkward spots with static brush then (honestly) use a huge variety of brushes to do some seriously fine details :-P then I drive it 5 minutes and have to start all over again. :-P

      I was thinking of only using the pivoting quick connector adapter to get under the underside of my 125cc scooter 🛵 and using that as its only lance to wash and rinse 🚿 the bike down as I usually rinse the bike after every ride and using the sprayer for a deeper clean too

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  2 місяці тому +1

      @michaeljameslawrence2965 personally I don't rate the pivot - at least not on the higher output hydroshots, they produce too much pressure and the tip tends to rotate itself straight every time! Maybe you could cable tie it bent upward but that defies the whole point in my opinion if you are looking for real scratch free finish - the best method is the classic 2 bucket method with a grit guard, the short lance is very short, they could do with doing a medium lance, not as short as the short nor as long as the longbor super long extension.

    • @michaeljameslawrence2965
      @michaeljameslawrence2965 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for the information have you tried the pivot on a lower pressure?, as I understand the trigger is not pressure sensitive but could you for example use the adjuster head to the pivot to change a setting to lower the pressure to stop the pivot from moving?,
      Also I did see a grit guard for buckets in Halfords the other day.
      I think for scratches I should be good with the machine-just ordered one-usually with a garden hose I would spray down, shampoo 🧴 with brush and sponge 🧽 on fairings on my scooter then rinse off and Oxford mint spray polish-that seems fine. And I am thinking of doing the same with the worx with foam gun at some point I love the accessories that along with all the other washers I looked at did it for me. This ticks all the boxes and has all the bells and whistles where as others do not or even have the 56 bar pressure on

      @@mikesptworld Hi Mike, great video, thank you. I was seriously considering purchasing this model (WG633E) for car washing, but after reading the above comments, I'm now uncertain. I have a 25 ltr water container, which when full I can just about carry downstairs (I live in a block) as I'm getting on now lol, and thought this would be ample for my use but after reading your comment of using 30 litres of water in 8 minutes, wow, surely this machine requires a tap feed? I'm not so sure that I could rinse, foam and rinse again in under 8 minutes! Am I missing something or is this model really this thirsty? If so, surely it negates the description of being suitable for vehicle washing!

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  Рік тому +1

      If you have limited water supply my best advice is to use eco mode, this reduces the flow but does not significantly reduce the power, if you are using foam it will do about 80% of the hard work with traffic film the other 20% can be agitated by sponge or using the rotary attachments for the hydroshot or even the soft static brush, then use the hydroshot for rinsing, the idea of using it as a sponge free dirt blsster is there with the right kind of dirt but your normal light deposits built up over time due to neglect and waiting for it to get really dirty is the same as expecting an electric mower to go through a meadow, it's designed as convenience for regular upkeep, weekly washing yes, once every three months of 100 mile a day motorway driving no way! I am about to release a video regarding water usage and battery run times comparing the wg633 and wg630.

      Hey :-) the nitro range now comes with a 5 year warranty and the brushless motor is backed by a 10 year warranty, just make sure you register within 30 days of purchase, :-) with regard to the battery mod.... probably not without fairly extensive modification. The wg633 comes with a waterproof battery case enabling it a higher ip rating you would need to explore removing the case and modifying it leaving behind the contacts removing the water proof box, if you did this it would likely void the warranty - that said a 5 year warranty is pretty strong so take it as a bold confidence boost to the quality of the products. I have over 70 worx tools and have had 2 arrive DOA, both were maker x products, one a soldering iron with a misaligned screen the other the mini angle grinder that worked for two seconds went forward then flay out backwards and stopped!? both were replaced within 3 days, all the other tools, mowers, batteries, chargers strimmers, chainsaws DIY tools etc all still work just as well as the day I bought them, some have cosmetic wearing and dirt in their crevices, and some have scuffed and faded writing and labels but on the whole still function and are just as powerful as the day they were made, overall are amazing for their cost vs longevity - a fact that I can only see getting better and better over the years I have had my worx tools. Indeed the wg633 is now a good year and a half old now and it is still strong as an ox and works just as good now as it did when new (probably upwards of 90 x 4ah batteries used through it including fence panel prep, car and bike washing, patio care and hot tub cleaning along with filters and internals too.

      The brush self cleans from the water running through it, gravel is one of the cleanest surfaces to place your brush on as it carries virtually 0 grit at ground level, a Sponge may be more concerning and a chamois even more so, I will be honest my car isn't concourse, it's used and abused but does not carry scratches like you assume it would do. However I do agree average Joe placing their cleaning tools on an asphalt surface who is not aware with the associated grit risk is liable to mess up their paintwork, the rotary brush itself however does not scratch paintwork, I have seen more damage caused to a finish with jewelry and long cloths scratching around in the dirt than I have with cleaning brushes - my personal experience I am sure others will agree and disagree - most out of principal without trying it themselves first.

Though as you asked so 'nicely' I will make a video specifically from a bucket to show there is no difference and I will also tell you (without getting too technical) why it has no noticeable difference too!
