I love this. Currently training BJJ for about 4 yrs, but I've also trained about 18 months of KM previously, have been taught both of these.
My opinion is that even if I am using BJJ I would still prefer to stand up and get away instead of going to the ground if possible. The "walking them down" sometimes doesn't end in that soft a landing for me because I'm relatively small and their weight is sometimes harder to control and handle. My technique needs some improvement there, but I still usually land in control and able to complete the counter or escape.
What I like about the KM technique is that it starts with relatively simple moves mimicking common reactions when fear and adrenaline kick in. Also like the explanation that the groin strikes are not some kind of magical fight ender, but rather to get a desired reaction.
Unfortunately I (blue belt) still have a tendency to get suckered into guillotines. Fortunately, it give me lots of practice countering them. This technique and variations of it on the ground has a relatively high % success rate for me even with much larger, stronger white belts, and to a lesser extent upper belts, but they know how to do a really quick, efficient choke so doesn't work as often.

Thanks for watching sir. Like the coach said, it may not always work but it's good to have response. It's also good to have more than one option. Again thanks for watching and stay tuned for more

I’ve left a couple of comments on other videos but I see you’re with your instructor and once you’ve pulled out of the lock you get in front of the men striking with your knee, a good trick. I haven’t personally done this in training practising but on the street, stand on his foot, and then just push him with both hands in the chest with all your body weight and keep your foot on his foot. When he falls back, he will dislocate and snap his ankle as well hyperextend. I would like to know what you think of this manoeuvre, but you only use this in severe cases.

I guess it's possible but not likely. 1) That's a old school dirty boxing move that i use all the time. I've never seen anyone snap their ankle. You can off balance them though. 2) It's hard to do . I can only do it when i'm really in a calm state. Krav Maga is about learning what can be done under stress. I'd rather just stomp on his foot and punch him. But thats just me. Remember it's a fight. Do what you gotta do. It it doesn't work do something else. Thanks for watching.
