Real Krav Mega From Israel is designed to teach an 18 year old kid to exert a high amount of violence in about 8 months.American Krav Maga is usually just cardio kick boxing.
@@Alckemy We generally joke that 'Krav Maga' translates to 'Assertiveness Training' and is strictly used against civilian non-coms, mostly because it doesn't work against anyone that can fight back.
It's army combatives, it's just supposed to train basic techniques and espirit d'corps. Army close quarters combat isn't really all about effective training in mutual combat, beyond things like army boxing
I studied Krav Maga, which is a defensive martial art, not an offensive one. Its purpose is to incapacitate an opponent and create an opportunity to escape-nothing more. It’s not about staying and fighting.
@ape_with_a_gun yeah its stupid krav maga is a self defence which usually results in you having the attacker in a position in which you can murder them so having them fight mma is ridiculous
Krav Maga is a self defense system designed to defend from an attacking opponent. It's whole philosophy is based about defending (as far as civilian km goes). We do train people in sparring on a regular basis and basically one day a week do 90% of what people who do mma train, just less common (usually one day per week). So we do teach people how to attack and basic bjj, judo and boxing techniques.. that said, this is not what KM is about. KM is about resolving the situation in the least possible time with the least possible energy and leave the place asap. This usually means max damage(max agression) to places where martial arts teach you NOT to hit, in a way where a camera overlooking you and the person you are fighting concludes you are the victim and not the attacker. All in all, as someone who has years of experience in several martial arts such as Karate, Kick Box, Box, Judo, BJJ, MMA, Muai Thai, Wing Chun, etc.. i can tell you that for the average Joe, or the average Karen.. no other system of training can bring these individuals quicker to a basic standard of being able to asses the situation and avoid it, and as a last resort use some basic stuff to hurt the person attacking you and get away. The whole point of KM is to get away from a person threatening you with as little as harm possible to both you and them and get back to safety, whatever that means in a given situation. Then call the police and let them deal with the rest.
Yeah, it's impossible to count how many times i have taken down Taekwondo guys that will just throw kicks at me without thinking twice about it. And not only me, almost every time that i have seen a fellow Judoka cross sparring with a TKD guy goes the same, there are only a few instances where they actually knew that thye had to set up their kicks when they are fighting someone that is allowed to catch them
@@Sha.Materiaset up a strike, no matter if its a kick or punch or knee or a takedown means adding faints or movement to make it dificult for the oponent to see what comes next. That's the most easy way but then you can fake punches or one kick to then throw the hard kick or you can kick or punch to the body an then changing to the head when the oponent is expecting the same strikes you were throwing. It's basically like setting up traps that make very dificult to defend the strikes
I only watched half the fight. This guy is Krav Maga in name only. He doesn't know it at all and its obvious. His stance is all wrong and he doesn't even know how to punch. I hope no one watches this and thinks this guy is Krav Maga. No way.
The reason the Krav Maga oponent didn’t really put up a fight is because he didn’t want to accidentally seriously injure the mma. The narrator has no idea how seriously deadly Krav is. U can land a strike that can kill instantly. They were basically dancing and throwing some hits. Put some pads on and truly let them loose I can say the Krav fighter will turn into a whole other animal. Y do u think it’s one of the most deadly mma of the elite sf world of IDF ?? Another casual clown. A KM practitioner would not turn up for sport therefore avoiding taking damage. If they so happened to be in the cage then they would attack before the referee said 'fight' They'd use illegal strikes including groin, eyes, elbows to the back of the head. They'd grab the mike or camera from around the cage and use that as a weapon even using the ref as a barrier. They'd take their keys out of their pocket and jab it into the eyeballs of their opponent... Has it sunk in that you know nothing now ???

But that fact that krav maga is a form of self defense and not an art of fighting is all facts.
The reason the Krav Maga guy got beat up so badly was because he wasn't fighting the usual Krav Maga opponent. An unarmed 5 year old Palestinian child.
Not to be a hater but your commentary is insanely biased. First jab didn't connect fully and dude slipped due to having no proper footwork. Too much woos and "he got caught again" without any action. Mma is absolutely superior and way more efficient than krav maga in any aspect, but you should at the very least tell things as they are.
Krav guy looks like a white belt. Coming from a Krav white belt myself. He's got none of the intensity, defense, etc that is taught in Krav. I make these mistakes myself and see them from my peers, I don't see it at higher levels.
So if this guy is Krav Maga, it looks like regular untrained fighting to me. So I'm almost sure that this guy is a beginner or at a school where they call themselves Krav Maga because they have shirts that say it. Very poor representation of this art.
KM CAN be effective in certain situations. Unfortunately in this case, nothing krav maga related was even showcased from his side.. Unless German KM is just streetfighting with no tehcnique xD
A man attacking you is not gonna stand like he wants to fight you he’ll come at you full force with a knife or a fist, that’s what’s Krav Maga is for not fighting for sports. I see no point in comparing these two honestly.
Krav and and MMA are not comparable because they have different intentions and goals. I'm going to say it right now. An MMA guy is going to be better as a fighter, all things being equal, to a Krav Maga guy, especially in a 1 on 1 fight in a ring with rules. This is what MMA is designed for, Krav Maga is designed to teach the fundamentals of fighting and to put them into a self defence context. If you are someone who wants yo be good st fighting someone in a ring, do Muay Thai, BJJ or MMA, if you just want to learn to defend yourself from people who aren't serious trained combat athletes who have done the kind of brutal training necessary to get good at fighting, do Krav. Ideally, you would cross train in both, because krav covers gaps that MMA doesnt cover when it comes to self defence such as how to deal tactically with multiple opponents, opponents who are armed, conflict communication and threat assessment.
MMA is better for fighting untrained people. It makes no sense to train something that doesn't work on aggressive and athletic assailants that want to hurt you. MMA will prepare you far more than Krav, when fighting someone with high energy. You can not expect your opponent to be a non fighter or to have no skills. You have no idea what he knows.
@santiagomatute3541 You can't do more damage with less effort. You have to actually develop skills, in order to defend yourself against athletic and aggressive opponents. No opponent is going to stay still, unless they don't actually want to fight. Half of Krav Maga gyms do not prepare you for someone that knows how to fight. The only Krav gyms that are good, are the ones that train you like fighting gyms do. The only difference is adding weapon retention and situational awareness. The best Krav schools have a coach with a fighting background.

@@anti1training You're pretty stubborn, I see. I'll explain it to you with little apples. If you receive a blow to your reproductive organ, that's as far as you've come. It doesn't matter how big you are. And that's what it's about, because there are very big abusive people, and there are small people who are busy and sometimes have to defend themselves.
Krav maga basically is mma with groin, eye, and weapons stuff. The mma guy probably just has more competition experience. If the krav maga guy competed you would just call it mma.
sometimes I think that some of you never have done a research and tried these sports.krav maga is mma without rules, their only difference is that krav maga says kick in the balls and the neck.
Personally I feel like the mma guy is gonna win regardless in a sport environment cause it's supposed to be for sport combat. I think krav is more for a kill then a knockout. Which is the equivalent of a karambit. A karambit could technically stab someone, but it's more built for a slash.
The situation and mental state of a battle that begins with both parties facing each other and a battle that begins with one side attacking unilaterally are completely different.
the issue here is that there are rules...in Krav there are no rules, so he is restricted as to what to do... equally, just because you take one krav guy v an mma guy doesn't prove which art is better...that's ridiculous to assume that
Krav guy isn’t doing proper defence technique. How long has he done this martial arts? No angst against him but man keep that defence up. Go in hard and strong that’s the way lol
If tou noticed krav maga dude also crossed his legs a few times when moving. A basic thing taught NOT to do is any fighting style. Unless you just that fire and making you opponent think u messing up but really you pivoting for a spinning back hand.
If the Krav Maga guy threw in a little BJJ I think he’d put up a better fight MMA is like the attack while the Krav Maga is more defensive correct me if I’m wrong but that’s my opinion.
It's not krav maga if there are rules. MMA style competition really has nothing to do with actual combat. Gracie style ground work is what wins in MMA, and there's just no place in real combat for rolling around on the ground. There's really no comparison between training for combat and training for the MMA game that sort of looks like combat but really has nothing to do with it. I mention this in case anyone is interested in self-defense and getting the idea that krav maga is ineffective.
Krav Maga is Krav Maga, with or without rules. A punch is a punch, a kick is a kick. A trained fighter can do what Krav Maga self defense practioners do, with more power, percision, speed and reflexes MMA is combat. Fighting has everything to do with combat. No military martial art is as good as real martial arts. All military arts are shortened and requires less and looser technique. A 2 year white belt in BJJ, will be able to see that and use the proper and tight technique to win against military martial arts. If a special forces soldier can lose to a 2 year white belt in BJJ, that should tell you that real martial arts are alot better. You are better off training to fight, then adding dirty shots, situational awareness, weapons and multiple attacker training. Even self defense Krav Maga is better than the military art. Self defense Krav guys typically spar too and practice proper technique. Already better
@@anti1training Krav Maga focuses specifically on dirty hits. Your comment is stupid, because with rules, you cannot throw absolutely any typical Krav Maga blow.
@santiagomatute3541 A martial art isn't a martial art based on where you hit. A punch is a punch a kick is a kick. If one person trains to fight trained fighters therefore has more skill, than someone that trains for self defense. The person training to fight is going to be better on the mats and off. If you literally can't land one hit on the fighter, you wouldn't land one in a real fight. Also dirty strikes make people really aggressive and fight harder. Once you start doing that, they will do the same to you with just as much energy and is probably trying to do worse than just win.
@@anti1training If I hit you in the nose, you're going to bleed. If I hit you in the balls, you won't get up anymore. Do you understand or do I draw it for you?
krav maga guy is a little loose, you are always suppose ot be protecting your kneck in krav maga, lowering guard is a nono unless you are actively blocking. The kick to the balls was representative though. Also Krav maga is generally a stand up technique unless you are attacking, the idea of taking it to the ground is not that representative of Krav Maga. Like once he is there a choke out etc.. would be the thing, the ground grapling is a little unrepresentative as the guy would be eaten. He is holding back as that dude would have like 40 hammer strikes to the back of his head and neck if the krav maga was actually engaging technique. oh the green dude is krav maga.. yeah.. when grey was down would have face stomped the guy a few times. yeah krav maga guy green is way too passive, not real krav maga. Green guy is not krav maga form.. sorry totally fake video. Kicks are almost always rooted, a stalled side kick is so not krav maga. No rotational movement on striking etc... would not say this guy has krav maga form. HIs hands are at his hips, this video is a joke.
Take it from someone who trained in real choy lay fut for two years: krav maga is a joke. You can get in good physical shape doing it; could even learn how to beat up someone who doesnt know how to fight, but in terms of true martial arts, its..nothing. They don't teach anything about proper footwork or even how to throw a proper strike. They just teach you drills to repeat, during with you throw your best version of whatever strike. I kept tripping people and accidentally kneeing groins because my kung fu footwork was so much more technically effective than the krav maga. I accidentally grazed the instructor's balls and he told me he'd hit me in the face if I did it again. Real disciplined guy, definitely someone I'd want teaching my children. So, all in all, with the "art" and the instructor in my town, I was extremely unimpressed.
You keyed in on a statement “you know guys who can do gun and knife DEFENSE” DEFENSE is not the same as attacking It’ll teach you to move, fight and create distance to engage with your primary. How much time do they dedicate to attacking?

Bear in mind that it was an MMA fight. Despite the commentator sneering at the weak, lazy, telegraping, scared, prey, hurt, and tired Krav maga guy - he still went the distance with the MMA guy - both on the feet and on the deck. Krav Maga training is not about this type of scenario, at all. And it's not about being polished or technically sound. It's about a safe exit. In a later DefendFC fight the same Krav Maga guy defeats a very capable boxer via ground & pound stoppage.
Props to the Krav Maga guy - it looked like he's done some stand up sparring. Probably touch or semi-contact only as he didn't seem to know how to check the leg kicks. Fair play to him testing himself. I wonder if he learns from this: if you don't know how to grapple then don't fight, full stop. The MMA guy could have won the fight at several moments if his submission game was just a little tighter because Krav Maga guy was literally a fish out of water once they clinched. I'm a BJJ guy now in my older years but I started off doing Kung Fu and then Muay Thai. I always get infuriated with people commenting on the butt scooting etc... that you see in sports jiu jitsu. Of course that stuff is silly but equally that's just 1% of what you learn and no BJJ guy in their right mind would sit down and butt scoot in an actual fight. Bottom line is, if you don't know how to grapple then you have no business fighting. Of course BJJ guys should also do a bit of boxing training if they're concerned about being well rounded martial artists but from my experience it's WAY easier to get somewhat competent in striking vs being competent in grappling. Give you 6 months and you shouldn't be flinching anymore, you should know some basic combos and defence. A 6 month white belt in grappling on the other hand is still pretty useless on the ground unless they have huge physical advantages like size, athleticism.
KM can never be compared to any other fighting style. Because there are no rules in KM and no fighting decipline to speak of. IN oure KM you fight to survive and to either maim or kill your opponent in as little moves as possible. Thats it. MMA doesn't stand a chance.
Next time get a guy who's taken more than 3 krav classes! FFS KM does train to be on your belly or back getting attacked like MMA guy was doing, this KM guy didnt do anything, at 1 point he had clear opportunity to do what we call at my school "buck and roll" when attacker is straddling over you and he didnt do it
Then there was the russian "Systema". I guess the same hype with hardly any actual fights in the ring. To make it better comparable: Put two average dudes into training like 100 Hours each in different martial arts and see how it goes....
If these things had any legitamacy they would have challanged mma fighters to a fight for a good amount of cash. I guess Jones would fight any of them and they can include their eye poking gimick and see howfar it gets them.

What have we learned?
Set. Up. Your. Kicks.
Yeah, it's impossible to count how many times i have taken down Taekwondo guys that will just throw kicks at me without thinking twice about it. And not only me, almost every time that i have seen a fellow Judoka cross sparring with a TKD guy goes the same, there are only a few instances where they actually knew that thye had to set up their kicks when they are fighting someone that is allowed to catch them
What does it mean to set up a kick?
@@Sha.Materiaset up a strike, no matter if its a kick or punch or knee or a takedown means adding faints or movement to make it dificult for the oponent to see what comes next. That's the most easy way but then you can fake punches or one kick to then throw the hard kick or you can kick or punch to the body an then changing to the head when the oponent is expecting the same strikes you were throwing. It's basically like setting up traps that make very dificult to defend the strikes
Krav is not ring fighting, there's nothing in It's standard training that is useful for competitive matches.
@@boxing.ascetic there is no defence against basic striking if it's well timed. That's why people win boxing matches, because basic strikes landed.
And professional MMA fighters are literal trained killers. They would destroy KV

Put some pads on and truly let them loose I can say the Krav fighter will turn into a whole other animal. Y do u think it’s one of the most deadly mma of the elite sf world of IDF ?? Yea a lot of krav maga for citizens is basically trash, it’s choreographed, might be choreographed with more noise/distractions but so are movie scenes but it’s still choreographed

@@anti1training You have no idea what you're talking about. Krav Maga focuses on dirty hits, doing the most damage with the least effort.
@@anti1training If I hit you in the nose, you're going to bleed. If I hit you in the balls, you won't get up anymore. Do you understand or do I draw it for you?
@@anti1training You're pretty stubborn, I see. I'll explain it to you with little apples. If you receive a blow to your reproductive organ, that's as far as you've come. It doesn't matter how big you are. And that's what it's about, because there are very big abusive people, and there are small people who are busy and sometimes have to defend themselves.
Wow. MMA VS Krav maga but with MMA rules in which the krav Maga guy can't use half of ehat he learned, great...
Krav maga basically is mma with groin, eye, and weapons stuff. The mma guy probably just has more competition experience. If the krav maga guy competed you would just call it mma.
There was both a skill and a conditioning difference. Krav Maga guy needs a new school.
sometimes I think that some of you never have done a research and tried these sports.krav maga is mma without rules, their only difference is that krav maga says kick in the balls and the neck.
I'm not an expert, but Krav Maga is about disengaging from a fight, not continuing one.
Correct
Life is so easy , fight in the park , have a commentator and boom . 200k views lol
Personally I feel like the mma guy is gonna win regardless in a sport environment cause it's supposed to be for sport combat. I think krav is more for a kill then a knockout. Which is the equivalent of a karambit. A karambit could technically stab someone, but it's more built for a slash.
KVM was not developed to fight against MMA fightrts. Some KVM also do MMA too. The comparison doesn't make sense.
The situation and mental state of a battle that begins with both parties facing each other and a battle that begins with one side attacking unilaterally are completely different.
The video would be better if there was not commentary.
the issue here is that there are rules...in Krav there are no rules, so he is restricted as to what to do...
equally, just because you take one krav guy v an mma guy doesn't prove which art is better...that's ridiculous to assume that
Krav guy isn’t doing proper defence technique.
No offense but grappling is like ladies fyt... grappling is boring
no need to disrespect fighters...
why are you bashing him?
The MMA guy beat his ass despite not being especially amazing.
A trained fighter can do what Krav Maga self defense practioners do, with more power, percision, speed and reflexes
MMA is combat.
@@anti1training You are so stupid. Seriously. If I hit you in the nose, you're going to bleed. If I hit you in the balls, you won't get up anymore.
@@anti1training If I hit you in the nose, you're going to bleed. If I hit you in the balls, you won't get up anymore. Do you understand or do I draw it for you?
There’s a reason MMA artists don’t use Krav because it doesn’t work, it’s all show demonstrations.
krav maga guy is a little loose, you are always suppose ot be protecting your kneck in krav maga, lowering guard is a nono unless you are actively blocking.

It is not that type of fighting system. It is a no rules, real world, self-defense system. If this was a street fight, someone trained in Krav would have the advantage.
