Licensing probably has something to do with it. For a while, Disney was doing a blacklist on X-men/Fantastic Four properties to devalue them for 20th Century Fox. Now that Disney has the rights to those characters, the chances of getting this game back are a little better... although with the whole debacle with MvC Infinite (where there weren’t any X-men characters), it’s unclear where the franchise stands. Rereleasing this game would be a nice way to earn back some goodwill. I hope that’s the case- I didn’t even know this game existed when it was still publicly available. It looks great.

He was talking to himself about girls near the end so he wouldnt think about Storm fierce. She had him bouncing around in the corner and sent just blocked him in with the mind trap on short giving super block with a sound. He may just have levelled and didnt meditate.
After watching a bunch of MVC2 recently it really makes me wonder how Capcom thought it would be a good idea to make a Marvel game without any X-Men characters...
Considering that Marvel didn't really have the rights to the X-Men at that time, kinda out of Capcom's hands. Hopefully, when the next MVC comes (if at all) the X-Men will return.

Please remaster the Graphics of MVC2, One of my favorite games of all time. I love the Animations, they need to be crisper. Tweak the Game Mechanics if need be..

0:26 whats exactly the point of forcing the opponent to switch characters like this? I know sometimes you force them to switch to the assist, but this time he just forced Sentinel out.
When people snap characters in, it's so they can kill them off because their team struggles against that character. Most of the time an assist is snapped in so theh dont have to deal with that assist anymore (like Commando), but other times it's because a specific character is overall tough to deal with. Here, "The Law" is playing Magneto-Storm-Psylocke, a team with low health but very high offense. However, Sentinel can do good damage on block, doesn't die quickly, has a long lasting assist, and has fantastic Team Super potential. What that boils down to is that Sentinel is brick wall that can play the long game and throw out tons of damage, just the sort of thing MSP can't really deal with. So, The Law snaps him in and wants to kill him off to leave two low health characters on the team that can easily be deleted by MSP.

This was the last gasp for the arcade fighting game scene in the USA and it lasted longer than anyone could have guessed. Back in the day each region had it's players and the rivalries were real. Compare that to modern day beef with attention whores somehow gaining credibility. LowTeirGod would have gotten his ass beat had his "career" been in the arcade scene.
It's crazy how OP marvel characters are in this game...Maybe 2 Ryus and Akuma could win 1 out of 5 games but Iron Man, Wolverine and Magneto would win 9/10 games.
Would love to see a tournament having a list of tier 1 top characters banned to see the variety of match ups from these top competitors. Not complaining just love seeing different match ups. For ex. Player is allowed to have magneto but not have storm on the same squad. Or give the people competing have a tier list given and must pick one character each from an individual tier. Would be awesome.
Sometimes there are low tier tournaments, but the popularity of the game is quite low after 20 years. If you search hard enough you should be able to find some videos. Lower tier play is much more balanced and more enjoyable to watch, but every time you remove the top tier of broken characters, a new top tier of broken characters emerges.

don't challenge sentinel head to head, don't jump when storm has meter, don't turtle when magneto is in play... it's the perfect team.
