Great video! Im actually the guy who posted the first post u showed lol. 2 questions: 1. Can you explain how your account is set up (bof, tof, etc.)? And 2. I am on a semi tight budget and this whole thing happened right before I was about to scale, do you recommend waiting to start ads a bit longer or just start it and see how things go?
Oh what a coincidence!
1. I have 3 BOF campaigns from a few years ago that still run to this day with Dynamic ads: they have offers, urgency, reviews.
TOF campaigns for different subniches in my store usually CBO or ADV+ campaigns with dynamic ads.
2. Wait before you scale imo, but you can always run test campaigns, like the past 2 days were really good, but knowing Meta tomorrow can randomly go back to not performing again.
Hi Damien, happy to continue our conversation here regarding the location source, are you referring to the cities?
Hold on can i send u a dm of the screenshot on ur ig?
@@B1gN00dleS Yup sure!
@@theecomzoneSent u a dm
Have tryed cost caps? I started using those, we got way less orders, but at cost controlled.
I have tried cost caps in the past and they work wonderfully in Q4 but there were times when they would spend the entire budget and produce zero results. Happened around three times and Meta never refunded us. I could try them again but they would always overspend or never spend.
Comment below if your ads have taken a dump recently with answers to these questions:
1. How long have you been running Meta ads? 4 years
2. What is your usual daily ad spend on Meta? £1000
3. Are you profitable this month? Yes
5. Which countries are you targeting? Top 10
6. How are you adapting to this drop in performance? Reducing budgets across the board and shutting off ads that are underperforming.
Should I run meta ads?
@@DBZruto With how volatile Meta ads is right now, I'm not too sure. Many have reduced their budgets drastically but have the finances in place to keep on running ads like myself. However, for those with low budgets, you may find it difficult to find sales to cover ad costs. You can always try a low-budget ad strategy with ABO campaigns and see how that goes.
@theecomzone what would a better alternative be for facebook ads? Google Shop ads?
@@DBZruto I wouldn't recommend Google Ads for drop shippers as they're not impulse buyers. People browsing around on Google tend to be shopping for bargains, so it only works for products that aren't saturated or have very little competition. You also need to be a god at targeting the right keywords.
I see a lot of people having success with TikTok ads but you need a large library of video creatives.
I still like to use Meta ads but it's become very volatile the past month with big swings in sales as you saw in this video.
@@theecomzone thank you for your time and advice 🫡
hello, been binge watching your content. so good. Do I need an accountant to start dropshipping? Or should I only get it when I scale? I'm worried about not being able to submit tax correctly. (i wanna open a uk business as a non uk resident since germany is so bad)
Welcome to my channel and I'm glad you're binge-watching my videos as they have a lot of value in there that not many UA-camrs talk about.
You don't need an accountant at first but you should keep track of income and outgoings and also keep all dropshipping/business expenses on one personal debit card. This card should not get mixed with personal spending so your future accountant can easily go through your business transactions. I'm unsure how your situation will work so you'll have to speak to a professional about that one. I know there are a lot of rules and regulations in Germany so I understand.
@@theecomzone love your answer! thank you. Should i book a call for free with some accountants?
Would be very cool to see a video about how you would setup a company. Your content is just that good. I think I would also just pay UK taxes if I do business in the UK. Also, if I open a LTD company, I think i must have a business bank account...
@@matthiascrea6751 You're welcome, yes I had to find a few accountants online and email them, and see if they were the right fit.
And yes once you open an LTD in the UK you'll need a business bank account which is hard to get especially if you don't have any revenue to show for it. Even when I had revenue it was difficult due to the nature of our business (dropshipping).
Is it even possible to start dropshipping at this point?! Ive spent the past couple months researching and now it seems like mod advertising platforms are trying to hamstring everyone amd tiktok may get banned!
In the same boat
Dropshipping is a fulfilment model. E-commerce is the business. If you know how to capture attention and point that attention towards your products then you will be able to sell. It's all about understanding consumer emotions and how to convince them to buy from you right now.
I don't rely on TikTok ads because I cannot run TT ads to the US as I am from the UK.
Can you tell me if insta ads are may also a Option for a kitchen niche store?
Yup definitely run ads to both Fb and Insta with Meta Ads Manager.
Múltiple people in my group are having the exact same experience
Right... It's super weird. The fact that many others are experiencing the same thing makes it seem like it's more of a meta algo issue. How's your ads been? What are people doing in your group to resolve this terrible performance lately.
@@theecomzone mine have been horrible along with everyone else’s unfortunately. Currently everyone is decreasing budget and consistently testing new creatives. However, I’ll be honest. Nothing seems to work besides scaling down. People suspect it’s a combo of meta updates + economic conditions
Do you get a decent amount of sales from email marketing?
Yup I send 2 mass emails out a month with 75K subscribers and I generate a decent amount of sales. We offer discounts but they sometimes don't use it and prefer to use other discounts on the site so I can't track it accurately based on discounts used from the email.
@@theecomzone you got a video coming up about email marketing maybe?
@@bufox111 It's on my list :P What exactly do you want to know about email marketing, the emails itself or the setting up stage or something else?
@@theecomzone Well, personally I don't know anything much about this method. So for me, a general guide - what apps/tools to use, how to set everything up, and benefits from using this.
Not just you, exactly the same behaviour here since the outage
So many people have been reporting volatility recently, how were your sales on the 19th/yesterday? I had a decent amount of sales but low AOV.
@@theecomzonefor us it was the opposite, amazing on 16th, good on 17th, ok on 18th and absolutely tanked yesterday. The week before we had very low AOV, you could literally tell that META was just finding "cheap asses";) We are on a very small budget atm (like 100€ fixed, and some bid caps in addition). Bid Caps went to nearly 0 spend after the outage (was around 100€ / day these days and around 400€/day in the pre-christmas time). That´s my feeling anyway in these times with high volatity... one particular day is great for one account and bad for another, the next day might be the opposite. So i guess it makes no sense to really react to anything right now as long as you are not burning money
People have less Budget to spend due to Inflation, People are only buying those things which are very neccessary to Survive. Don't take Dropshipping as a Get Rich Quick sceme, those golden time has gone guys.
I was wondering this too. I mean I've been dropshipping with this branded store for 4 years now with over 4M in revenue. This is the worst performance I've seen in all 4 years. And the fact that many others with different budgets and industries are complaining too says a lot. Ofc I will adapt and see how to improve but when you have days where roas is 5 to next day being 2 to next day being 4 then 3 then 2, it gets kinda silly.
How long have you been running ads for? What's your daily spend like?
@@theecomzonehey man been following you for while. We had the worst ever mother's day. We do 30/40k for mother's day. We did 10k. I personally think people just don't have the money to spend. I noticed my sales peak around pay day then have a massive drop. This has been happening for a while.
why are u blaming meta for the conversion rate though? in my opinion, all ads should be conversion based - you only pay when there is a conversion - that way noone is risking anything - i will only run ads once these social media platforms add this type of ad campaigns
Been running meta ads for 4 years so my funnel has been tested for many years. Usually conversion rates go 4% atc, 3% checkout, 2% purchase. Not all are tracked in this video so that's why they're lower. However. Right now it seems like they are pushing a lot of low quality traffic who add to cart and drop off. A lot of people in the Reddit forum are also saying this. I didn't say they shouldn't charge us for conversion based, I'm saying we're being charged for campaigns optimised for purchase but it feels like they're giving us low quality traffic. Meta has settings so you can optimise for conversions.
