The trick doesn’t work because sometimes you have to change the number because when you check your answer in calculator it says wrong a different number

Great video, easy to understand! However, PLEASE look at using audacity to remove noise when your mic bumps on your shirt or whatnot. It is unbelievably distracting. There are a few good videos on cleaning up screen/talkovers on youtube.
I really don't understand where these remainders are coming from. This would save me so much time if I could just understand it!

for the 1st question 3124 divided by 29 you have the remainder as 21 but my question is wouldn't the remainder by r7 as 3 goes into 21 evenly as i checked the answer and got 107.72413.

hes just doing it numbers that end in 9 so you dont have to carry big numbers
the closer to a base number (10,20,30,40,50) the easier it is to divided with
problem 1 correct answer is 107.72

+Layla Aaron i realise this is 6 months ago but for anybody else watching and confused by this. that is because he couldn't divide 4 by 6 so it just carried over as remainder 4 to make the next number to make 42 ( 4:47 for anybody wondering on the time stamp )
