Huge props to him to be so real and admitting his anxiousness! There you see it: you can be prominent, sucessful and also show emotional vulnerability, folks!
Saw a video of an interview where he was asked a question about what hobbit characters he found most attractive and he answered the elves, and continued going on about that the height difference wouldnt be a problem if he drugged them and then could do whatever he wanted with them,. I also found out that he beats his kids and treats them like shit.
If being a professional UA-cam commenter was a thing, you Sir/Madam would be No1! Are you ever NOT on UA-cam!? I wish there was a way to track your comments like a UA-camrs videos! Loll
Me, serving in a restaurant: "Hey do you ever hear you look like Martin Freeman?" "Yeah I get that a lot." "Oh ok haha I thought you were gonna say like 'oh I am' anyway I'll be back with your food" "Well I get it a lot because I am" "Whoosh...nice" I hope he knew I was an Office fan. I'm in my mid 20s lmao. I also would not have the energy to run up to him (or hurry up with his food even, sorry Martin). Nice guy though!
I was a huge fan of the Sherlock shows AND Gods help me, the fan fiction. A lot of the fan fiction was DRECK. But some of it was astonishingly good. There are REAL writers using fan fiction platforms to experiment. The reason why there are such rabid Sherlock fans is because the show was of exceptional quality.
He's a stunning actor. Not so much as a person otherwise. I was forced to change my overwhelmingly positive perspective on this man after certain "controversial" or should I say tone-deaf statements (unrelated to any fandom though, so Sherlockians rest easy).
Sherlock is the best show i have ever seen, closely followed by Breaking Bad, both equally funny, intelligenty written and super gripping. and of course the most amazing and talented actors!
I fit the Sherlock description (and love the series a lot) but I'd definitely be running at him thinking "Biiilboooo" 😍 forever my favourite character BECAUSE of him.
My favourite performance of Mr. Freeman was as Watson and I feel so called out; I do, in fact, have hip length dark brown hair, glasses and carry a bag.
I feel unrepresented here. I mean, I always think of him first as the doctor from the Black Books episode "Cooking the Books." I wonder if Black Books fans have a particular look...maybe angry people with hair flying everywhere that have a wine bottle in one hand and a cigarette in the other?
I couldn't agree more, I'm so glad you mentioned it. I suffered through the first part and couldn't get myself to watch the other one, no two? Martin Freeman would have deserved a better Hobbit movie.
Kiki Matthes I just watched the animated Hobbit from 1977, and I actually enjoyed it. I wish they would’ve stuck to that story, just with more modern effects.
@@philipcallado5693 Thanks for the recommendation, will watch out for that, I'm a fan of animated movies. I listened to the BBC's radio production quite a lot, for I just couldn't get myself to read the book. Neither has Martin Freeman in it, unfortunately 😔
I'm a 43yo woman and I've enjoyed all three of those immensely! And I almost refused to watch the American version of The Office because I loved the British one so 😋
Okay, I've never seen the Office or the hobbit but Sherlock meh. I know him as the guy in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy or The Shaun of the Dead Series/Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy.
I hope to see his character and Dr. Strange have a Sherlock-like scene together, lol
OMG YES🙌
I really appreciate your response, thanks for your love and support💙💙💙

Martin Freeman is definitely one of my favorite actors. Tim, Bilbo, Arthur Dent, Watson, Fargo, he really nails every role
Fargo 100%
Arthur Dent!

I’m only just turning 40, and while I adore Sherlock, Tim’s “She said no, by the way” is still the most heartbreaking piece of acting I’ve ever seen.
Yes!
"The game is that you are really the gladiator, but inside, you feel like an early christian."
😂😂😂 I am a Roman historian and that was hilarious
Wait, can you explain? 😭 only if you don't mind
Early Christians were fed to the lions or butchered by gladiators for entertainment in the Flavian amphitheater
@@SplendidFellow I was confused at first, glad I read your comment
@@SplendidFellow ahh thank youu
It is indeed funny tho 🤣
It showed his quick wit and general knowledge.
Martin's description of a Sherlock fan is 100% me and that's a little scary.
We must be a legion and descend upon him when he least expects it.
You don’t look scary, kinda cute actually
@@rrosomasa haha thanks 😅 I meant it’s scary how accurate the description is 😂

Oh same here
Dude doesn’t get enough credit for his acting ability’s.
For his acting ability‘s what??
With COVID keeping me home, I've been through Sherlock and Hobbit disks twice each in the last year. So Martin seems like an old friend!
Imagine stephen not mentioning anything related to hobbit in this interview lol
@Gustavo Jared wtf back to topic: I am kinda sad that "noone" talks about hitchhikers guide anymore
@Gustavo Jared certainly makes stalking her a lot easier!
Unthinkable!
probably because Stephen realized after a couple years that the Hobbit series is the LotR’s sucky SW prequel trilogy.
@@darthvirgin7157 YES. I love LOTR, can't get past half an hour of Hobbit. And I LOVED reading The Hobbit.
Right! Liverpool is only famous for the Beatles "fabs". Martin is always great with Stephen!
Martin's voice is like cocoa, smooth and soothing.
Oh my gosh, he was wonderful in Sherlock.

I love martin freeman in the hobbit and black panther
Martin Freeman and Andy circus were the only two white main characters in Black panther I guess you could say they were the "Tolkien" white guys
I liked him as Watson with Sherlock
So long and thanks for all the fish!
His roll in Fargo was exceptional
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is one of my Freeman favorites along with The World's End.
The description of Sherlock fans perfectly fits a close friend of mine from school. Instant mental image of her.
the way he described Sherlock fans awoke something in me lmao
I thought he was kidding about recognising Sherlock fans, but... 🤭🤷🏻♀️ Me to a T!
He sees and he DOES observe! 🤣
How they haven't talked him into doing a 'Riddles in the Dark' bit, where they tell each other silly riddles in a dark room, I'll never understand.

hahaha his description of office fans is literally Ricky Gervais
Except he is more like 63, not 53.

He is such a chameleon, so perfectly disappears into a role and I just love his voice. Brilliant subtle actor and can he Please read Audio books!!
The riddles in the dark scene with the guys from black panther is still fire. ; )

I only recently started watching Sherlock. Love it!
I love Martin Freeman! He´s an odd, grumpy man with a strange sense of humor and a big nose. I like that on men...

I want to see Martin as a villian. Like a really evil villian.
2:30 AH! It was John Lennon who played rhythm. George was lead guitar.... he could play things note-perfect... that is why John let him in.
Trueee and Paul was bass
I would watch this man in absolutely anything.
Don’t forget Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy!! Loved that movie!

“In your eyes you were”... *cut!!* ... “now Martin, he’s not trying to take your ring, you don’t have to be so combative”
I thought I was the only one that noticed that. Hopefully everything is okay
Martin’s fan detector failed. I’m an Office fan, male and 52, so not quite right.
I am 10 years older than you and female, and I admire "The Office"! Sounds like he nailed it in your case!
👍😂
Bet you Stephen spent a good time with Martin during the Desolation of Smaug set. These 2 look like they haven't missed a beat.
I am in LOVE with this man! For me it was “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy”... THE BEST MOVIE EVER! 🥰🥰✌️❤️
Fantastic actor. Just so.... watchable. Plus he’s just so f’ing cute.
Loved his performance as Arthur Dent in Hitchhiker's Guide. 42 !
“We heff teck quick break” lol ok Stephen
But what I want to know is -- can Freeman recognize "Stick Man" fans at a distance? After all, that's his truly seminal work.
So Colbert wife is a Sherlock fan? And did Freeman just describe Colbert as a Hobbit fan? Hahaha
My favorite MF work: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!!
Loved Sherlock watching it again wish it would come back all the actors where fab on that show thanks martin great interview loved the hobbit 🙏
Omg, i love Martin 🤣🤣

Martin Freeman is a fucking delight. That is all.
I’ve been enjoying UA-cam clips of Freeman and Olivia Coleman doing sketch comedy from early in their careers.
Good actor. He nailed as Bilbo.
The guy from Hitchhikers’ Guide should be recognized for that above that other twaddle.
I loved him as Arthur Dent
Martin Freeman perfectly described the girl who introduced me to Sherlock --and to Stephen Colbert, now that I think of it.
So no word about Martin’s wonderful appearance in the MCU.
Not as big of a role I guess. (He’s a lead character in those other examples)

He was brilliant in A Confession.
Kenya. -… but : Clouds. Martin Freeman ✨
"Uneasy being famous". Martin Freeman has a lot of hobbit sense!
That was George Beatle, too! Wow.. Except that George was lead guitar, surely.
He would recognize me as a nerd from watching the TV docudrama "Micro Men" 🖥️
Colbert's George impression actually sounds like a really good Alec Guiness Obi Wan impression hahaha
Best line from the office: Hat.
The Office was such a great TV programme as were all the people concerned in the making of it.
Off camera if they film him he constantly flips off the camera and its hilarious
Martin Freeman is an amazing actor! He has real range, to see this range check out the show "Start Up"!
The Hobbit movies were bad. One problem was too little Martin Freeman.
