Stage presence and shred skills combined. Prince is such a beast
But there’s so much soul that comes with him! I can’t believe I only discovered him NOW! It’s despairing that there isn’t a chance on earth I can meet this guy!
And the rest
He was a monster, a lot of shredders, I mean professionals, sentenced he was a beast
That was the sound i was searching for.
@@artshayler8747 You're lucky there are so many recordings
Prince was once asked 'What do you smoke?' He said 'Other guitarists'

Seriously, what a musician this guy was. To be able to play a single instrument this well would be one thing, but he played many more, sang beautifully and was a fantastic song writer to boot. People like Prince are one in a few million.
More like one in a hundred million...
Unique
Billion.
He was one out of 7 billion, just like Jimi Hendrix was one out of 5 billion... True legends
One in any lifetime..
Dear God, he’s a guitar genius and that was one of only 30 instruments he could play proficiently.
Its actually 22 but im sure he would figure out the other 8 eventually😂
@@sixfoursoul2538 22? Wtf
@@sixfoursoul2538 no actually it was 27
@@GoHARD99 27.5
It's why I keep asking, what if he only played guitar 🤯🤯🤯
I still miss him after all these years😢 he's still the best
Surprised the “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” solo wasn’t in here. Best version hands down.
You ever seen to play it?
That's just how good he is he doesn't even need that one in a compilation like this.
Agree. I watched that at least a million times.
Who in this world can write songs, sing the songs, play guitar and dance like this while playing guitar?
Prince..... most underrated guitarist, musician, ever! Deserves so much more credit than he is ever mentioned for!
the radio head cover sent me! HE WAS A TRUE ECLECTIC
At 4:34, when he starts singing, his voice is almost in perfect sync with his guitar. He's something beyond a musician. This is effortless for him.
It was so in sync that I didnt know he was singing for a sec.
It's called practice maybe you should try it and you might get good
@@nicksharp5060 Yeah, I would say that singing and playing at same time is quite easy. But everybody is better at something else
@@nicksharp5060 yeh but he harmonised with a string. Lol. Easier said than done
You can see the way his mouth moves during some of his solos and it's almost like he can't sonically create the sounds he want with his mouth so he uses his guitar to do it for him
Prince was one of the greatest guitarists. I wish I could play even a portion of how great he played. He was extremely talented.
Came here after watching his performance in While my guitar gently weeps. I can now hear a lot of framents of that solo in this compilation. What a legend!
You'll love this one more ua-cam.com/video/_9qw6UMPIKo/v-deo.html
Especially that second solo 1:19
I'm just happy to have shared a planet with this guy while he was alive
One of the, if not THE best guitarist and musicians of all time. It just comes so naturally to him.
Just un believable guitarist, musician, song writer. Phenomenal. Greatly missed
This Brother was absolutely the VERY BEST EVER!!!!!
Eric Clapton was once asked what it felt like to be the best guitar player in the world. His answer? "I have no idea. Ask Prince". High accolade indeed.
Never happened
Funny that he said the same about billy gibbons and Jimi Hendrix , absolute myth
I've always felt Prince was the most UNDERATED guitarist of all time. A true artist.
The man was a beast
R.i.P. to one of the greatest
I have GOOSEBUMPS… There is ONE PERSON who’s above Princes MIND BLOWING Jimmy Page; however, JP wrote music and played the guitar… whist Prince did EVERYTHING. He was the MOZART of the modern world. I’m grateful through UA-cam I’ve seen interviews and unlike most people who would be insufferably arrogant, he was also a very intelligent, cool down to earth person. Thx for sharing
Under rated one of the greatest musical genius in the world of music performances rip my brother
Prince was definitely one of the most if not the most underrated guitarists ever. RIP.
Not anymore!!! They KNOW about him now!!
Prince is the greatest guitarist ever...and it’s not close...all the styles and his solos are the most powerful...Jimi was the one who changed how the guitar was played...prince took that to the next level...if Jimi hadn’t passed away so early he’d be up there with prince...but prince jus had more time to develop his skills...but I also think prince is the only one better than Jimi
I agree he was extremely underated. But Mr Spidey you have lost your mind. Lol
Yes he was. Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac is another.
Amen to that.
He is part of the guitar, the guitar is part of him. Genius.
The only man who can dance like that and play guitar flawlessly at the same time.
The Ride solo is in another level!!!!!!!!!
He was born to rule and RULE HE DID!!! There will never be another Prince 💜💜💜💜💜 RIP
The ability to wear heels, play countless instruments, dance at the same time, incredible
I just watch , SIGN O THE TIMES, on Freevee, the entire show. What an enormous talent and the energy... the guitar playing was impeccable, his vocal range other worldly, his dancing non stop energy, just everything. One mold, one Prince shall never be duplicated. The US never gave him all he deserved they appreciated him more overseas which is unfortunate but those Americans who know, WE KNOW! RIP GENIUS
Prince wasn't just a musician, he was a showman. Fantastic talent that deserves all the praise he gets, even after his death.
PRINCE. He was the Mozart of our time. I say that as someone who's been a fan since 1980.
Buckethead is the Mozart of our time
He was truely a blessing from God he did it his way and never compromised his Art...
Dude could play! He was a virtuoso in his own right!
on his debut album, he played all 27 instruments his proficient at. mastering 1 instrument is hard, mastering 27 is just something else
What album??
Impressive! But I'm going to point out that proficiency and mastering are very different levels of competency.
@@tinasmith-syperski4301 For You is the album
@@lactate8008s What are the markers for proficiency vs mastery? In terms of technique I see nothing wrong with what was presented in this video or many other videos. Most Music professionals PROFESSORS I’ve seen react to him, say he’s a spectacular guitarist.
Did any one else just open their mouth in amazement?
No.......I have appreciated Prince's guitaring forever.
man that Creep solo floors me everytime
I'm just. So amazed by people who can play perfectl technical solos while performing and dancing around...I'd be missing all the right strings. Cray cray stuff
I've been a rock and roller all my life, I'm dinosaur old. I've been a "semi-fan " of prince since the '80's. I was told he played a mean guitar and I was like yeah, right.
I saw him on a video playing the hell out of a guitar I was like daaaamn! I gained a whole new respect for him. I even had my brothers and friends listen to him. all of them were slack jawed.
I started listening to him every chance I got and again I was like daaaamn!
he could dance like hell. he could sing like hell. he could play damn near every instrument like hell. he was a true artist.
when he died I took it pretty rough. he wasn't a true legend, he IS a true legend!
The Piano must be shivering. “ me next !”
This dude could play like 7 instruments at the expert level. Plus he was a fantastic songwriter. A true staple in black excellence but also american excellence. He was one of the most talented brothas in history. I miss him.
Why does the color of his skin matter? He was fantastic regardless of the amount of melanin his dna did or did not produce
I think Hendrix would have absolutely loved Prince. What an astonishing artist. Oh, did I mention he played guitar?
Prince is so obviously better than the great Jimmy Hendrix Prince playing abilities and skills are at a elite level
@@Rio-GE-V why always comparing two great artists. Just enjoy them both as they are
@@Rio-GE-V You can totally hear Hendrix's influence in his playing here.
@@Rio-GE-V 🤣🤣🤣
@@Rio-GE-V I don't agree
No one looked this good playing guitar.
I've never felt more of a loss for music in general then when Prince passed. Dude was truly on another level. RIP
Never realized how great he was until he was gone. It is a true loss for me and the world. I didn’t even know he played guitar. I just thought he was another pop star.
The guy played almost every instrument in every song by him. That shit is unheard of😂
Better late than never!
Me too
Same here bubba.. Amazing to watch. Shame I didn't take more notice earlier.
Wow what? Didn’t do your homework?
I think Prince was born with a guitar in his hand.....he was just magical to listen to and watch 💜
Can we all appreciate the electric guitar for allowing us to hear this. This real timeless music.I will be 80 still jamming this I’m 17
Deadass bro
I’ve always thought that Prince musically, is a cross between Michael Jackson, James Brown and Jimi Hendrix. Overall a musical genius.
very accurate
Not Michael, Little Richard, and Sly Stone.
the beatles?
@Aaron Soto Aguero MJ was super talented. Just because you like Prince, it doesn’t mean Michael had no talent.
@Mostafa Negm
You stupid......Lol. 😅😅
Maybe in the clothes ..
Prince was actually a king 👑
I knew he was a great artist but never knew he could shred like that wow
Check out his live concert...
and bass, and piano, and drums, and sing, and write, and produce and and and
It's not just about playing fast. He's fluid, staccato, soulful, flashy, has great sustain, can stop on a dime.
You're not a true fan then!! Because we ALL KNOW that cat could PLAY!!!
@@nonameisthename138 Actually, most true fans were more enamored by his voice and his music...people who has been playing guitars for years know that this dude was one of the greatest guitarists ever! Easily top 15...and we are not talking about "shredding", that's actually a negative term in the 1980s among guitarists for playing fast with no direction...the dude can just PLAY the hell out of the guitar.
His music never classifies as one of those rock, blues, jazz, disco genre, his music genre is simply Prince music
Shame on me for discovering so late he was so good. I'm embarrassed, but in awe. Not only he could make the guitar sound flawlessly, he also was epic in his performance. I can't believe the kind of plucks he makes at 4:03
watch this one bro! this is even better ua-cam.com/video/qDCaGrJ6Y0w/v-deo.html
Me too i discovered too late the great he was 🔥🔥🔥
That was a real GUITAR HERO. 😊
I don't care what he plays, There was always a passion and emotion in it fuck man. You were and still are the greatest!!! RIP
I don't know where I've been, but in the sea of Gilmours, knopflers, santana etc I don't know how I missed all this!! He's a guitar beast!!
Look up hughie thomasson
Saying this guy can shred is an understatement
Prince could put a guitar solo on a slow ballard and it would still sound damn good ..the man is a pure genius there's no other like him
You got Hendrix, Santana and Clapton all in his playing. What. A. Guitarist.
Clapton said Prince was the greatest in the world, and Prince sited Santana as a bigger influence than Jimi . Lol
I feel like Prince is kinda underrated a bit as a guitarist because his stage persona was so strong, but he could absolutely SHRED!
This Man IS Music. It is filtering through every fibre of his being in these pieces.
Great guitarist always plays with soul rather then just speed, to me prince is one of the best.
It's funny how many are commenting that Prince was an under rated guitar player. That is what many were lead to believe because his music was not very often guitar driven. However, when the best players in the world are asked who is or was the best, many refer to Prince.
Well yeah that's because he was, wether you are a fan or not there's no point in arguing about his phenomenal talent.
Never heard anyone say that Prince was 'the best' - That's simply ludicrous and simply not true
Guys a joke
I wont take anything from prince but as a guitar player, he does nothing for me that makes me go "oh shit". Example- if you played prince in a lineup of 100 guitar players, i personally wouldnt be able to pin point him like i could dimebag, SRV or Clapton. No hate just stating my opinion.
Eddie Van Halen, now that's something to brag about.
Prince could've had a career as just a legendary guitarist but said "Nah, I'm built for more than than" 💪🏽
I especially like the Zappa moments in his solos.
A master musician, who was kinda somewhere between Miles Davis, Hendrix, P-Funk, and moments of Van Halen. I guess the world could not contain him here too long. He may one of a handful of humans that were too good for this world.
That second solo, what the heck 🤯, i didn’t know it was like that Prince
WHAT YOU SAID!!!!! OMG!!!!
on replay
Welcome
Absolutely insane!!!!🔥🔥🔥
I love it when he screams before soloing!!!
I grew to respect his guitar prowess over the years. His peerless ness was on full display when he performed “While my guitar gently weeps.’ Awesome.
That machine gun riff still has me dropping my jaw in disbelief, even George Harrison’s son was in awe. 🤔🤔🤔🤔😱😱😱😱😱😳😳😳
Yea he better than Clapton
Check out Brian Carroll
One of my biggest influences on the guitar, period!
Prince is the most underrated musician ever
Never knew he payed guitar till today and im 53 omg he's brilliant
I'm 47 years old and my kids would ask me "Dad who is Prince?" I would tell them," I'm sorry it's not who was Prince. WHAT was prince." EVERY so g had feelings, saddnes, love, and passion.
Lenny Kravitz has a poster of Prince over his bed.
Who doesn't? ;)
Wow, good Lenny he could afford a Prince poster.
@@keisreeman wow, good lenny he could afford a wall to put the poster on
The industry tried to ignore him commercially when he became independent, so a great part of his career work was not known by masses for some time. But when he resurfaced and entered into negotiations much of the work that was not known surfaced and he began to do shows and appearances on major awards shows. He began to showcase his skills commercially again, but there’s so much regarding his skills that’s unwitnessed, he passed before he had a chance to show it all. He was about to do just that with all the instruments and do so independently. This would have sealed him in the eyes of the general public as the greatest all around musician ever. A part of me feels they didn’t want that.
That bass player is having the literal time of her life.
Prince was ahead of his time, its not always about speed, the feels bro
A musical genius none could deny,
You led me to a place where only doves cry,
A revolution of music you left with no regret, now drive up to heaven in your little red Corvette!
Darling Nikki released you from her walls,
Now from my eyes a purple rain falls,
The water of lake Minnetonka is an unruly grey,
Gone is the color of your raspberry beret,
Your music to me was truly divine,
No matter if you were Prince or purely the Sign!
Nice. The world really did loose some of it's color when he died. So sad. We were the same age. So was MJ, but he was not the same level of talent, though they both sure could dance. That said, I think I'd hand even that mantle to Prince.
@@alistersutherland3688 indeed, Prince was a blessing to the world, Michael was talented but so cut off from reality thanks to never getting to be a kid. It was sad seeing the path mike was led down. The ones who loved him most destroyed him the hardest.
@Thomas Noell... nice and very true indeed :)
I’ve never watched Batman movies, but he got me with that solo [Batdance] waaaaay back in the 90’s when I was waiting for unskinny bop by Poison...

One of the best blues guitarists ever...❤
Just cried, Prince is was and always will be my favorite artist. I can’t believe I JUST found this.
I was reintroduced to Prince through his epic George Harison tribute which had already indicated him to be the greatest ever guitarist. This provides the perfect consolidation for this view.
What a performer. Just a bundle of energy, talent and game that the world has seldom seen. RIP Prince Minnesota’s favorite son.
Clapton was once asked “whats it like to be the world’s greatest guitarist?”……he replied “I dunno, ask Prince”……..he knew.
I remember seeing him his last performance at the Forum in LA. He did a solo that had the entire audience mesmerized. I don't even know what song he was playing but everyone was just swaying with their mouths open.... lol!
I remember him being on the on the cover of Guitar Player magazine, and saying he wouldn't do an interview unless it was about guitar.

He was one of the greatest guitarists who ever lived and he wasn't even famous for that particular skill. That's the level of talent Prince was.
Not even top 20 best guitarist ever let’s be real.
Prince best guitar player I ever heard! If you never saw him live you missed out. I saw him in 2005 he probably played about 12 different guitars he would switch a guitar out in the middle of a set with no interruption...he literally had the guitar sounding like it was singing. Amazing!
No question one of THE GREATEST entertainers EVER!!

He was so fabulous in every way and his guitar, amazing, guitar skills were slept on. Good gracious, Heaven is happy to have him and we are humbly envious. 🙏💞❤️🕺🏻🎼
Good lord Prince is definitely underrated
I always loved Prince. The guy played a mean gutair. I would always ask my buddies that could shred their opinion about Prince. Every single one would say something disparaging about his playing skills. I always replied with you gotta go back and listen to his stuff again.
Being a fan, Prince was always a musician i looked up too. However the night he dissed the Kardshian on his stage because she was too good to dance with Prince made him a freaking legend in my book.
I miss this guy.
I didn't grow up with his music, but when I saw him play at the Superbowl, I knew that regardless of genre, that man was an amazing guitarist!
